This video documents a real-world test drive of Tesla FSD 14.3.2, revealing that while the system handles highway driving and lane changes competently, it exhibits notable limitations including inconsistent speed profile management, difficulty recognizing speed bumps and road hazards, and unnecessary braking around emergency vehicles and school buses. The presenter demonstrates that FSD works best as a supervised system requiring driver attention, with the system needing improvement in recognizing road conditions and adapting to changing traffic scenarios.

The Perfect Sendoff | My Final Model Y FSD Ride | FSD 14.3.2Added:
All right, everyone. Good morning. The day has finally arrived. We're going to pick up the new Model Y Premium. So, we're going to take a trip right now from Rockland County into Westchester to Mount Kiscoco. And that's where I uh purchased the car at the Mountiscoco Tesla dealership. So, going to document this last ride with you guys. And then um depending on how much time I have, I'll either video the ride back or I'll just get you guys a video with the new car some other time. not 100% sure yet because I do have to uh take my son to a baseball tournament this weekend. So, it'll all depend on how long it takes us to um finish up over there, but I'm super excited and hopefully we get a good ride there. And this car has been great to me and I'm going to miss it, but I'm really, you know, happy to get the new one. For those of you who are new to the channel, um this is a 2023 Model Y and we're running hardware 4 and I'm going to be getting the 2026 Model Y premium. This is the long range. So, the premium essentially is the long range all-wheel drive dual motor. Um, the only difference with this one is I have 20-in uh wheels, and I'm going to have the 19-in standard wheels on the new one.
And I'm also going to have the new one is going to be gray. This one's black.
But other than that, the interior is going to be gray. Everything's going to be the same or black, whatever color this interior is. And right now we're in Mad Max mode heading on a nice mountainous road that's 30 miles per hour and we're doing 45 44 miles per hour which I think is you know good speed for Mad Max mode slows up here for this curve.
But yeah, I'm really excited. I'm excited. Not only am I excited to get the car, but I'm excited that my first trip with it is going to be a long trip for a baseball tournament.
So that should be great, too. Going to be heading to uh Ripken in Maryland.
So hopefully my son's team plays well and we'll take this turn here. So it does a nice job slowing down for these, you know, for these windy roads.
This road's especially fun to ride at night. I should do a night video just of these windy roads for you guys. I think you guys will like it.
But yeah, we should be there in about 50 minutes, so depending on how I edit the video. It's going to be a long one either way. So hopefully you guys stick through it. Uh I want to thank everyone.
There are definitely a bunch of people that watch the entire video and I really do appreciate that. And obviously I appreciate everyone who subscribed and uh has been supporting the channel so far. If you haven't subscribed and you're watching the videos, please do subscribe. It just helps you know my videos get out to more people. So, if you do like the videos, please, you know, like, subscribe, turn on your notification bell. That really helps me out. You know, I'm trying to trying to build up the channel. We got about 2500 subscribers. And like I said, I'd love to get it to about 5,000 subscribers realistically by the end of the summer if we could. So, that'd be great. Um, but yeah, I really enjoy putting out these videos for everyone.
still haven't upgraded my my camera situation or my microphone situation.
So, I know some people don't like that, but you know, I got to allocate funds appropriately at this point.
So, also was debating if I did get a camera, should I get a GoPro or should I get a 360 camera and just stick it on the roof of the car? I feel like that could be kind of cool. So, in the comments, let me know what you guys think. GoPro or a 360 camera? Just afraid that, you know, would fall off the car. So, if you do uh know of any mounts that are really good, let me know that as well.
We're going to be getting onto the Palisades now, heading north.
And yeah, this should be good. Should be a fun ride.
I wonder how this house is going. If we're going north, I guess we're not going to be taking the Tapen Bridge.
Maybe we're taking uh the Beare Mountain Bridge, which is similar to how we go when we go um to Cracker. But let me um go to Standard Boat here. Let's see what the route is.
Yeah, we're taking the Bare Mountain Bridge. All right. So, we're going to be going that way to Mount Kissco.
So, it should be a good ride. Maybe there's traffic going the other way.
So standard mode's pretty all right. You know, you do about 62 and a 55.
One thing I will tell you is I mean the car this car the rims are so bent because it seems to find every pothole that once you go faster than 60 65 in this car, the wheels start shaking. So I'm I'm really looking forward to just getting the new one so I can avoid the the constant vibration. And hopefully they don't ding me too much when I give the car back. I get a $500 credit towards, you know, any type of damage, which would be basically only rim damage at this point. There's really no damage to the car. The car's, you know, I try to keep the car other than it, you know, being dirty, it's it's in pretty good shape. I keep it in the garage at night.
So, but yeah.
So, right now we're doing 62. If I can get to hurry mode, it should kick up the speed a little bit.
Going up a little incline now, so maybe it'll it'll um kick up. One person mentioned the last time I did a crack ride that maybe my speeds are being affected by, you know, the uphill and downhill, which I I don't think he's wrong. I I think it shouldn't be affected. I think the car should be able to, you know, adjust for that. But I I think he's not wrong.
Also, put in the comments some of the type of rides you'd like me to do um with the once I get the new car.
Anything you'd like me to try to test out or or show you guys. Uh you know, if I can make it work, I'm definitely going to try to do those rides for you guys.
Just a lot of it depends on my work schedule.
Also, I should mention that I'm still running 14.2.2.
I have not got sorry, 14.3.2. I've not gotten 14.3 yet. Um, I'm waiting for that. I don't know what it takes so long for them to push that release out to me. I'm hoping at the very least my car has 14.3.2.
Hopefully 14.3, but I have a buddy who because he's getting the free month of full self-driving, he's still running 14.2. 2.25.
So, I hope because I do get a free month of full self-driving when I get the new car, you know, which will save me a hundred bucks, 107 bucks with tax.
I'm hoping that I don't get downgraded in my FSD. So, we'll see. We'll see what we're running once we get it.
So, now we're up to 68 in hurry. heading downhill, which I don't want to risk getting a ticket.
So, we're going to go back down to standard. Hopefully, the car pops into the right lane. Probably won't. Let's see.
I'm going to just put it into the right lane myself.
Because uh that's one thing. It's got to do a little bit of a better job. It's kind of like learn to ride in the right lane and then just go around the car in the in the right lane and then come back into the right lane because I, you know, a lot of times I have people right behind me and the car should the car really shouldn't drive in the left lane anyway, especially not in standard mode.
Maybe if I'm in Mad Max mode, I can understand it, but I personally don't like riding in the left lane.
I'm really not in a rush to get anywhere.
I haven't had a speeding ticket, I don't think, since 19 probably 1996.
I mean, I just don't feel the need to go to go that fast.
I think my last speed ticket was in college. I got caught doing 90 to 55. I was in wasn't a great situation.
So, and I had a car packed full of people. I had to take the field sobriety test. I mean, luckily, I wasn't drinking.
Even having FSD, you know, you shouldn't drink and drive. I don't drink anymore, so that wouldn't be an issue for me.
I haven't had a drink since last August, so not for any health reasons or anything. just just felt like stopping.
So, I think my wife thinks I'm pretty boring now, but I don't know.
But yeah, I mean, I guess when this becomes unsupervised, you could theoretically use it as a as a cab and if you're drunk, it wouldn't matter. which that's like the best part about this thing because you know too many people drink and drive and having a full self-driving car that you can legally just get in and it'll drive you and you don't have to worry about getting an Uber or a taxi and you know it's just from a safety perspective I think it's great. So hopefully they get this thing there where it's fully autonomous here. We got an emergency vehicle to the right so we should get over. Okay, we do. That's great right there.
That's a really good job right there.
And then we'll get back over here.
But yeah, the Palisades is really nice.
It's really pretty. Um late spring, summer, even in fall when you have all the leaves on the trees.
It's just a nice road to ride down.
Speed limit's 55. It used to be max 50.
So, at least they increase it to 55. But there are a lot of cops on the Palisade.
So, you do have to be careful if anyone's driving on the Palisade. Just be careful that you um you know, you don't go too too much over the speed limit. I think anything within 9 miles per hour of the speed limit, they'll let you go. Or maybe if you're staying up, you know, if you're keeping up with traffic.
Also, I I've had the chance to um really locally test out the 14.3.2, and I could see why people don't like a lot of the things that happen with it. Uh there is a lot of heartbreaking for no reason.
It's like the car kind of gets spooked a little bit, especially around school buses and and emergency emergency vehicles.
And also, it's spotty recognizing speed bumps all the time. And it one time it really it it really got me because it didn't recognize there were signs that said rough road construction and there was a dip in the road and the car did not not only was there a dip in the road, it was a huge bump coming out and I didn't disengage and it really just like surp I was surprised I didn't have a flat tire. Let's put it that way. And something like that the car should recognize and come to a you know a slow stop and handle like a speed bump and it didn't. Um, obviously if that was to happen in my new car, I would I would disengage it, but I figured this is at least I'm giving it back. Might as well see how it what it does. And it was it was wow. I was with my son at the time.
I was taking him to school and we were just like, whoa.
So yeah, now we're doing 55. So, I guess we're coming up the uphill, and that's kind of what's happening.
But, I'm going to be taking the car to a lot of nice places. I'm going to be taking the car to the to Florida over the summer, which is something I really wanted to do. But, I don't think I'm going to be able to record it just because I'm going to be with my wife and I think it might be a little bit annoying to record.
But, we'll see. If I do, it would have to be, you know, I record like the beginning and then I just have it, you know, many times the actual speed with a with a music overlay and then record some of the charging stations and kind of just give you an idea of how it does.
And obviously if there's any interventions, but I couldn't go through the whole ride not listening to music and even potentially like popping the uh the phone up on the windshield and, you know, putting some movies on.
So, we'll see.
I mean, I I would anticipate driving down to Florida and even to Maryland without have any interventions. I' I've used FSD to go on long distances before and I haven't had any haven't had to had have any interventions.
The interventions I mostly have still are because of navigation and they're um yeah I mean it's mostly navigation then stupid stuff where it I'm trying to trying to give like a example not seeing a speed bump or um not not turning right on red or you know something like that where I have to and that's not even a full invention And if it doesn't turn red and red, I'll just have to sometimes like, you know, press my foot on the accelerator and it kind of like prompts it to go. It nudges it.
But it really just it needs to do a much better job recognizing speed bumps.
Uh recognizing potholes for sure because potholes are killing everybody. I have a buddy who just got a Model 3. Literally had it for two weeks and he was on the highway and it bent his rim so bad that the cap came off.
And luckily, he had ribbon tire for a month, which I wasn't even aware was an option. I'm going to inquire when I picked this car up, you know, what the deal is with that. I think he had ribbon tire for a month, and he says he's getting um a year worth of free supercharging. So, I don't know if he bought a package, but I'll I'll look into that when I when I pick up the car and report back to him on what he's allowed to get, what he got or what he doesn't have.
I hadn't heard of anything. But so, he was lucky for him, he was able to get the rim replaced. I mean, because the rim was destroyed and he had, you know, he had the full self the full self drive free month trial. Nothing worse than getting a a free trial on something that's supposed to be good for you and it winds up costing you money. So, I'm glad that he was able to I was glad that he was able to um you know, get that repaired for free.
Yeah. Yeah. So, now we're doing 56 with the standard, which makes no sense. So, I'm going to switch to hurry. So, still not consistent with these. I call them speed profiles. Some people like to call them driver profiles, but it's there.
It's not consistent at all.
I even clicked the hurry and we're still doing 55. So, I don't We're on a little bit of an incline, but nothing crazy here. But we're definitely on an incline and I wouldn't want to be biking like this.
But the car should have no problem getting to the speed that it's supposed to get to.
But yeah, no, I think that person who mentioned that in the comments, kudos to you because you were definitely right cuz now we're going to crest right here and then we're going to start heading down. Let's see what it goes to.
I'll kick it back down to standard because I'm sure it's going to pick up some speed now.
One other thing I mentioned that I think would be great if they did with the navigation is if you were able to just like see an exit and you know hit it and that that becomes the new route because a lot of times you want to change you want to get off at a different exit.
So that would be a more interactive feature that I think would be great.
Obviously, you can use Grock for your navigation, but I think that even sometimes with Grock, it takes too long for Grock to process. And by the time you want to make a change, even if you use Grock or if you're going to type it in, if you're just able to like click a point on the map, like here for example, some guy always wants me to go this way when I got over the bare mountain bridge. It'd be great if I actually I mean this way here instead of going the way I go. We're going to actually go this way now. So, he'll be happy cuz we're not going to Cracker Barrel. But if I can just click that way or this way, that'd be great.
There's an ambulance on on the other side going that way. It does need to handle ambulances and emergency vehicles a little bit better. Like if I'm on a two-lane road where I can kind of see the ambulance and the ambulance is coming down, it'll just like jam on the brakes and then try to get to the right even though the ambulance is not affecting us at all. Like we don't need to be moving over. It's not coming into our our road. So, there are certain things it just needs to do better that to act more human. And I hope it does figure out how to do that.
I'm going to have to pay this toll by mail because I didn't bring my easy pass because I would definitely leave it in the car. So, I'm okay paying a little bit extra to pay the toll by mail than um forget the easy pass. So, I removed the easy pass. I removed the garage opener just because I've done that many times when I when I've gotten a new car.
and then you got to call the dealership, they got to FedEx it to you and it's just like annoying.
And I think now that since I'm buying this car, I'll I'll probably purchase the garage door mechanism that you can open it just by using the car so I can get rid of that, you know, that black lift gate thing that I have.
It does stink that you have to pay for it. I don't like paying for add-ons, so I'll look into that. And I think you could purchase acceleration boost, but I don't think that's really worth it.
I'm not sure what it does. I I think it might take it from 4.6 to 4.2, but I think it's $1,000. I I'll look into that, too. But the odds of me getting that are very little.
But I am curious to see what the range is. Um, and this is a nice nice road here. So, let's let's kick this up to MadMax and see how we do.
It has some nice pretty windy roads. I mean, it's just like nice.
And even having the FSD, you know, supervised is great. I mean, obviously unsupervised would be really, really good, but you kind of like pay you want to pay attention anyway. It's like I can't see myself sitting in the back and letting the car drive me around. I wouldn't be able to read a book. Maybe I'd watch TV, but you know, like you have to really have a trust level to not pay attention at all.
If I read a book, I'd get really caricky. That wouldn't be a pretty sight.
But this is a nice ride here. There's a pullover here so you can get get a nice view. Um, so this is going to be a good ride for sure. And this is the last one in this Tesla. So, you know, I leased it at first. I didn't know if I would like it.
And I've mentioned a bunch of times that I mean I'm a car guy and I used to love driving a manual transmission and my last car was a um a Volkswagen Jetta GLI six-speed. So I didn't know if I was going to like going from a manual to, you know, forget about just an automatic and electric.
And one of the things I that I was always hesitant about getting the Model 3 or the Model Y was just that you only have this display screen here and you don't have anything here. No instrumentation at all. and I kind of thought it looked a little bit plain.
And I know they sell some aftermarket stuff that you could have put in where you can kind of have make it more like the Model S or the Model X, but I'm I'm perfectly fine with the minimum the minimalist look. Um, so yeah. So, I wound up this is probably I would say the best car that I've ever owned.
It's definitely the most luxurious car that I've ever owned. The seat's very comfortable. You know, it's faster than any car I've ever owned. And and obviously no other car that I've owned has the ability to drive itself.
So, you know, if I ever get to the point in life where I can get another car for myself, I I'd get like a small manual transmission car just to putts around or or maybe like a Jeep and then get a manual transmission Jeep. I I've always wanted that, but unfortunately right now right now not in the budget.
But yeah, really nice ride here. You got like, you know, these these rocks to our left. And you could probably I don't know if you can see the Hudson at times, but we're kind of parallel to the Hudson right now.
And the car handles this no problem. You know, safe speed.
So hopefully I get to 14.3 because I think people are liking that. I haven't really honestly watched that many people's videos on it.
So I don't know, you know, how it's doing as far as the unnecessary braking.
I did see that it's going to nag you less, which is great. I mean, this thing nags you right away. I I try to look at the screen to put on music and it starts nagging me.
So hopefully it, you know, just leaves me alone. I heard it gives you up to a minute of time now, you know, before it nags you.
We'll get a lot of uh a lot of time to test that out.
Also curious just to see the range difference that I get with the new car, you know, having the smaller wheels.
They say the 19-in wheels are ideal for the most range.
And then obviously if I would have gotten the rear wheel drive um version I would even get more range. I think the rear wheel drive premium gives you 357 and I think this will give me 337 which obviously it won't. That's what it says it'll give you but I think you have to be going in ideal conditions 55 miles per hour which nobody drives 55 miles per hour and you know obviously in the winter time you're not having ideal conditions.
So, it would have been great that if they came out with a 500 mile range battery, I feel like that's what they need to offer as a long range option for people.
I mean, this is probably good for most people, but I I I like to do a lot of road trips, and I would really be happy having a um an extended long range 600, 500, 600, 700, where you can get to Florida and have to charge one time would be great.
And now we're in a little bit of traffic. So, I'm not sure what's going on here, but here you can see the river. Really nice.
Oh, we're coming up. It looks like we're coming up to a roundabout. So, that's probably why there's traffic.
But really pretty out here. Wow.
And I think I'm 90% going to get my wife a fully electric car. Her next car, Hurley's comes up in April. Um, so I think I'm going to, you know, go full electric. Right now, we have the plug-in hybrid, the Mazda CX90 plugin, which the the range is just not not good.
It's 26 miles during the summer. I think we're down to maybe getting 24 miles during the summer, but it's advertised as 26 miles during the summer and then you lose half of that during the winter.
13 miles. So, it's still using gas a lot the amount of amount of driving sheet does. I think if you're going to get a plug-in hybrid, 50 miles, you know, range you need as a minimum if you're going to do a lot of local driving and then you just want the gas component for if you take road trips. I mean, that's really what our intention was going to be with it to take it on road trips. We took it to Florida a lot and then obviously use gas, which was great, but we didn't get to really get the full benefit. And we do have a charger for it. She's able to charge. You know, some of it's her fault. She doesn't charge like every time she comes home, she she obviously would needs to plug in.
Sometimes she doesn't with gas prices where they are. Um, and it being an SUV, I'm going to explore some other other electric options for her.
So, I was thinking maybe an EV9 from Kia if we still wanted to go with a three row, which I don't know how much we still need a three row.
So, if anyone has any ideas of what, you know, type of electric car I should look into for my wife, you know, an SUV or if the if the Model Y long range was available, I think that would be top choice. I don't know if it's going to be available by April, but if if it's available then, I will I would seriously consider that. You know, obviously price being the main factor on any of these.
Right now, my YouTube side hustle is not making me enough money to uh to get a super expensive uh electric car for my wife.
And honestly, I'm really not doing this for the money. I'm kind of just doing it for fun. I didn't think anyone was going to watch when I started this channel.
So, you know, as I've mentioned, I really do appreciate everyone watching.
So, now we're in MAX. We're doing 65.
The road's at 40. Well, it says 45, but here the the speed limit kicks up to 55.
So, let's see if it recognizes it. And it did. All right. It's an up to 55. So, I don't know. Now, you can see the vibration in the steering wheel. I mean, look at this. This is obviously cuz I have bent rims. So, I can't wait to no longer have bent rims. We'll kick down to hurry mode. Keep up with traffic this way.
Almost there. About 24 minutes away. I'm pretty excited.
Probably not going to edit this video at all other than, you know, if we get stuck in some traffic lights when when we're local.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of complaints that I'm talking too much, but I don't know. I don't know what else to do.
So, I try to give you guys some commentary, little insight onto what's going on in my life.
It's like the salty Tesla reality show.
I was also debating bringing like some other people in to the car with me and doing some rides with some passengers and kind of having some interaction.
So, I'm not sure. Let me know if you think that would be a good idea in the comments.
Part of me also wanted to do like some type of interview type show podcast.
I'm friends with a bunch of different people like you know as far as like what they do for a living and like you know where they grew up you know lifestyle and you know upbringing and could be a pretty diverse conversation of people's backgrounds and just getting to know people and then obviously seeing what they think of being in a full self-driving car. I felt like that could be kind of fun but I don't know. You guys tell me what you want.
Yeah. So, now we're in standard mode, but we're still doing 67.
And I think what I've noticed is if you're in standard if you're if you go from Mad Max mode or heart mode down to standard mode and you're already doing fast and it'll do its best to really just keep up with the traffic.
Um, if not, it's not going to really take you to that speed. It's not really going to take you to 67 when you start in standard mode.
But I feel like now that I'm in standard mode, I I really should be in the right lane.
I'm sure the car right behind me right now wants to, you know, go faster. Oh, maybe once I pass this cement truck, I'll uh I'll put the the turn signal on so that we can get over No one's really going too fast. So, it's not like I'm slow down.
So, I have to get the car. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long to get everything set situated. Hopefully, like they're on schedule. My appointment's 11:00 a.m.
It's Friday, guys, just to give everyone an idea of what day of the week it is.
I'm probably not going to get this up until after the weekend. I'll do my best to try while, you know, at the tournament. If I get up early and I have some downtime and everyone's sleeping, my kids sleeping, then I will. So, maybe tomorrow morning I can do it. But whatever. Whenever I get you guys' video, I'm going to get this video out first and then I'll put the video of the new car out after that.
Probably not going to video the ride back. I just think that's why show the same ride twice.
So, we'll do a we'll do a different ride in the new car, but I'll try to get some video footage of the actual car itself when I get it.
But I'm not going to do like an in-depth walk around. That's just not my thing.
I just want to show you guys really just the driving portion.
But hopefully everything goes smoothly and I'm out of there quick and then I got to come back and it's about a it was close to an hour drive going. So I mean if I get out of there by 12 and get home by 1, pack up my stuff, I have to pick up my my son from school. I told them I was going to get them around 1:40.
So hopefully I'm on time for that.
Otherwise, the school is pretty annoying with getting them out early. They like to know when you're getting them.
So, and then we'll go right to Maryland.
Hopefully that shouldn't hit too much traffic heading to Maryland. I don't think part of me wants to video the ride to Maryland, but I don't know. I I asked my son if like we can video it and he was kind of like no. So, I don't think he wants to deal with it.
Now we're down to 62. So, we should definitely get over. This guy's tailgating me big time right now. So, we're going to get over. We're going to go faster. We'll go faster to get over.
I don't blame this guy for tailgating me, although I think that's very unsafe.
But the car should really get over on its own.
All right. Here we got to go. Um, we're getting off here at 9A. So, we'll do a little uh slow down on this this turn.
But yeah, like the car is hand this ride. The car is doing great. I mean, no reason to complain at all. If this was the final version, other than I wish it would get in and out of lanes better.
You really can't complain.
I saw on the news that Whimo really is upping its uh service. They they partnered with some Chinese company. Well, the the actual parts are going to come from China, but the it's going to be manufactured in the US.
It's kind of be like a groundup car where it's more of like a van and it's, you know, pretty much built just for full self-driving. So hopefully the the Tesla robo taxi service can get out there and start making some some moves as far as taking some some shares, some some rider share away from Whimo.
I think Whimo's also they're going to they're going to get rid of the Jaguar and they're also looking to use the the um I think it's the Hyundai Ionic 5.
I think that's what they want to start using as one of their you know the cars as well. But their price per car is really high. That's the great thing about Tesla is these cars are ready to go and you just have to flip a switch. I mean, they're going to have to, I guess, come out with for regular people the the version that can clean the cameras, but other than that, it's ready to go. All right, we're going to make a left here.
All right. So, here we go. Got the local roads again. Still in Mad Max. Remember, still we're going to have to get on the SO River uh road. I don't know if that's a SO river highway or if there's a road called SO River Road. I know the Smill's a highway, but we'll see.
So, the Tesla Mount Kiscoco, even though it's far away, it's um there are Jersey there are Jersey Teslas that are closer, but I need to buy it from a New Yorker or at least pick it up from a New York Tesla dealership. So this way I can get my plates and registration all situated.
And this is the only one. There's one I think in White Plains, but that doesn't do sales. It's interesting. I think it's kind of stupid that they have some that don't do sales and then you go there and you can test drive the car, but you can't buy it.
But I think Tesla's limited to how many they could have in certain areas. I don't know what I don't know what the deal is.
I mean, overall, it's a great experience buying the car because you you know you're not getting ripped off because you can't haggle. Buying a regular car, you always feel like you're getting ripped off.
They'll quot you a price and then you say no, then you want to walk and then they lower the price. You're like, why don't you just give me the low price, the lower price to begin with? I mean, it's like so stupid.
So, about 15 minutes away.
I'm really excited, though. I've been looking forward to this for a long time.
So, I I wound up um for anyone new and still watching the video this far in, I wound up financing a new Model Y premium.
I was debating whether I lease or whether I finance or do I look for a used one, but I wanted a new body. And they really don't when you try to find the used ones, they don't really discount them as much as you would think. Although, they do seems like they depreciate.
Everyone says they depreciate. I I can't seem to find any deal that makes it that much more worth it to get a used one, at least not at this point with a new body.
But they're offering still they're offering a um.99% financing, which that's almost free money. So that's great if you got the standard, which I wouldn't get the standard, but the standard is a great entry into the into the, you know, the Tesla market. I mean, it really you're still getting a great car that you can get for 0% financing.
And then the Model Y premium or at the Model Y um premium rear wheel drive they're offering.99%.
And then unfortunately for the performance they were offering point sorry 5 29 or 5.09% and that's just obviously not doing that. It would have been great if they were offering.99% financing for that cuz then I would have gotten that I think.
And then I lucked out a little bit because like two weeks after I purchased the car, they raised the price $1,000.
So I feel like I won a little bit.
But even when they say you're buying the car for $489 or $499, then there's additional fees. It takes the car, you know, up like an extra thousand or so. They always get you with fees, which is kind of annoying. Got a $500 loyalty credit, which is good.
Um, I don't put a referral link in, so I didn't have any referral credits. Maybe I'll start putting my referral link in the description for now. And just in case anyone wants to tell so they can use my link, can't hurt.
All right. Put the blink for no reason there, but okay.
so now we're doing 55 and a 40. 56 and a 40.
I'll slow it down a little just because I don't want to get a ticket. Not because I don't feel unsafe or anything.
I never feel unsafe in the car.
It's got good reaction. Um, a lot of times it does things to avoid situations that I wouldn't do, like where I would break and slow down quicker. It'll just move to the side.
But that's also because it's got eyes to the side of it and eyes in the back of its head, whereas I'm, you know, looking forward. So, my natural instinct would be to like slow down where it'll just go around things. But, so that's interesting to get used to because you're kind of like, why isn't it stopping? And then it's just going around.
Yeah. Here's a cop here. So, that's why it's good to kind of go slow.
Go to standard mode.
But there are cops everywhere like on these local roads. They're they're going to get you.
So, back down to standard mode. I don't I don't need to get a a ticket now when I'm 10 minutes away from being at my destination with an appointment to pick up my new car.
That would be the most frustrating thing ever.
So, really good hiking here. All these cars parked here, they parked on the side for hiking, biking, mountain biking.
Yeah, there's a bike route that way, a mountain bike route to the right instead.
But there's really some really good, you know, just, you know, a lot of fun things to do around here.
Little bit of traffic, but nothing terrible here.
It's always fun getting a new car and then you know you become really anal about it. You don't want people to eat eat in it and you want to keep it super clean and then you know you get all bent out of shape for any like little dink or scrape or scratch but ultimately that's going to happen.
I guess I could I could have paid or pay still for ceramic protection on the paint, but there's a place by me that I think does it for $1,000.
Tesla offers it, but you don't really want to do it through Tesla. That's that's kind of you're paying top dollar.
I who knows in three years if I get tired of the color, I could always wrap it. Also, these wraps are really really, you know, pretty cool looking. If I was to wrap it, maybe I do like a matte wrap.
But don't that's really expensive.
But usually I lease a car, so I'm used to getting a new car every 3 years or so. And this time I bought it. And so I'm going to most likely keep it for six years. That's, you know, the financing period of time that I that I did it. I did 72 months financing.
So unless I decide to pay it off quicker than that, I I can't imagine not keeping it for the six years.
The only thing that would maybe consider I would consider doing that is if they came out with such a better version and I felt like I was getting really hosed.
But even then, I'd have to have positive equity in the car cuz I'm not, you know, taking a loss on it.
Now in standard mode, you go really slow. So I'll kick it up to hurry mode again. M max mode actually. Catch up to these cars.
It does take a while, you know, to go from one profile to the other to really adapt.
So, I'm pretty sure last time I went, I did not take the route that I took this time when I went to actually, you know, look at the car and purchased the car.
And I'm hoping that my driver profiles are able to stay and all I have to do is kind of like sync it up and that my seat's set and my mirrors are set and I don't have to go through all that nonsense.
That would be great.
I'm also, you know, really excited to get the front bumper camera, especially when I park in my garage because it's such a tight squeeze that being able to see like, you know, how close I am to the front of the garage will be super helpful.
Like my garage is so tight. That's like my biggest fear of where I think the car gets nicked up or potentially, you know, nicked up getting in and out of the garage. It's a two-car garage, but it's a really small garage. It's a 1960s house. Nobody had SUVs back then, so garages just are are tiny. I think my house was built in like ' 67.
Honestly, I'd love to sell it and just move, but I'm kind of stuck in my area until my kids at least graduate high school.
I can downsize. So, so let's stick it out for five more years [snorts] and then see.
All right, so we just entered the village of Mount Kiscoco. Should be there in 3 minutes.
This has been a great ride with you guys. Um, got to see a lot of different, you know, landscape and scenery and types of driving.
If anyone, you know, lives in this type of an environment and is on the fence about getting a car, hopefully this gives you guys the confidence to go ahead and get a Tesla. You know, obviously use the full self-driving.
