Out of the 13 known rings, 11 shine brilliantly in Web's images, some so bright and close together that they seem to merge into a single glowing band encircling the planet. And then there are the polar caps. Unlike any other planet, Uranus spins on its side, tilted 98°, creating seasons unlike anything we experience on Earth. Its poles endure years of unbroken sunlight, followed by years of total darkness.
