Creditors of United Insurance Company plead with court to speed up and conclude compensation claims

[00:00:03]Now creditors of United Insurance Company which was placed under receivership more than 10 years ago are pleading with the court to speed up and conclude compensation claims. During the proceedings weary and elderly creditors, some on crutches, lamented alleged mistreatment by the receiver manager.

[00:00:19]One petitioner told the court she cannot trace 1 million shillings for surgery as she continues to pursue a claim of more than 100 million shillings filed years ago. The court was stunned after receiver manager Kamal Anantroy Anantroy but disclosed he earns 5 million shillings monthly drawing murmurs from creditors in court. Justice Francis Gikonyo ordered to to only pay himself salaries May June pending further court directions. The judge also ordered the immediate inspection and production of all company financial records including bank statements, receipts, invoices and payment schedules linked to about 151.8 million shillings spent by the liquidator.
