I see that there are certain things that exist and therefore God must exist. To give you an example, I believe that knowledge exists and that is only possible if God exists because there are preconditions of knowledge that must be true. And those preconditions can only be justified with the Christian God. For an example, logic, right? The laws of logic are universal, immaterial, and they're invariant and they're mind- dependent concepts, but they exist. So, I see that these things can't be justified unless you have a universal, immaterial, and invariant being that also has a mind in order to justify these things. And that is why I believe in God.

So we see that empiricism or even visibility is not the standard of truth because there can be things that exist that we can't see such as logic, right?

[00:01:57]>> When you reject metaphysics, it leads to a whole lot of problems. But I would see it as saying I don't believe in God because I can't see God is inconsistent with every other thing cuz there's a lot of things we can't see that we believe.

[00:02:36]>> Names aren't invisible. Names are mind- dependent concepts. Correct. So then names can be attributed to another mind dependent or another being that uh can be grasped in the mind. Sorry.

[00:02:54]>> So God exists as one being and three persons. We believe in one God that exists as three persons that exist as father, son, and holy spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God that revealed God and Jesus is al is also the name of God. Uh but we believe that the name of the triune God is Yahweh. That's how he's revealed himself. In Exodus 3:14, he says all generations forever will remember him as that name. So we see that Yahweh exists as father, son, and spirit. The second person of the trinity, specifically the son, his name is Jesus or Yeshua, which means Yahweh saves or Yahweh salvation. And that's because God is a real being that exists.

[00:03:38]with attributes and even better now we can get into the epistemology of it.

[00:03:42]This God has spoken to us. He has revealed himself and he has worked and moved through history so that we can see that this is him.

[00:03:52]>> So, how do you know that?

[00:03:52]>> We verify that through history.

[00:03:55]>> What history? uh looking at the Bible, looking at you know ancient Jerusalem, looking at you know the first century you know Middle East and even prior to that we see that we can go to Jewish culture prior to even Jesus coming and we see that there is the you know Jewish tradition. We have the Torah. We have the prophets speaking and prophesying.

[00:04:12]We have it written down and then we obviously have Jesus being the fulfillment of all of those things and then Jesus sending out his disciples and his students and them writing the New Testament.

[00:04:22]>> So we can verify how God has moved through history. We see that there's a common theme throughout all of time that God would redeem his people from sins, that God would send a a redeemer, a messiah to save mankind.

[00:04:35]We see that prophesied a thousand years prior to Jesus. We see that prophesied in Genesis all the way to Malachi. And then we see Jesus come and he fulfills over 300 prophecies in his lifetime. And then Jesus Christ teaches and sends out his disciples and they record everything that they had seen from him in his life and that they uh what was given to them.

[00:04:54]And because of that, we can verify >> in the in the same thing.

[00:05:04]>> Yep. So Jesus is in the Bible. He's also in the Quran. The difference is this is that the Quran does not have epistemic access to the life of Jesus because the Quran comes 700 years later or 600 years later in the 7th century and is trying to rewrite the narrative of the historical Jesus. So we see that the authors of the Quran, right, Muhammad, Allah, whoever you'd like to say it is, never actually had eyewitness access to Jesus Christ, while the authors of the New Testament did. So that's the difference between eyewitness testimony and the testimony of a man in a cave who claimed to have seen an angel. So the difference is we're saying, let's go look at the people in the lifetime of Jesus and see what did they teach, what did they record. And then Muhammad comes 600 years later and he completely contradicts that. For an example, the uh crucifixion of Jesus Christ is one of the most attested events in all of, you know, ancient history.

[00:05:55]>> Right. It was never really disputed. It was a accepted fact. And then 600 years later, Muhammad says, "Nah, he didn't actually die on the cross. It was just made to appear that way." Well, how do you know that? You weren't there. He wasn't an eyewitness. So, he's already negating history. And then he makes supernatural claims, which is fair, right? Because if he's if he truly is speaking on behalf of God, he could be, you know, telling the truth. But then we verify was Muhammad telling the truth and we see that the Quran was false for a lot of reasons that we could get into.

[00:06:23]But if you're not a Muslim, uh I don't see the point in getting into that unless you have questions. But that alone right there, the Quran is historically inaccurate >> and therefore we know that that's not from God.

[00:06:36]>> And the biggest argument is the Quran >> and the Muslims both believe in Abraham.

[00:06:39]>> Yeah. Well, I would argue that the there's only one Abrahamic faith and that is Christianity. So they claim to believe in Abraham, but they don't actually follow what Abraham taught and what Abraham, you know, believed.

[00:06:51]>> Sir, Jesus was a Jew.

[00:06:54]>> So where did Christianity come from?

[00:06:56]>> Christianity came from Jesus cuz Christianity means to be a follower of Jesus. Jesus obviously wasn't a follower of himself cuz that doesn't make sense.

[00:07:03]So Jesus Christ was a Jew following Old Testament Judaism. He was a Jew by bloodline, but he died and he resurrected and he gave us the new covenant. It's also something to note that Christianity is the fulfillment of the Jewish the the Jewish old testament, right? So we have the first um the prior to the first century Jewish traditions, right? And then Jesus comes fulfills those Jewish laws, right? That that is seen throughout the Old Testament. And then now we have the New Testament which is you know the foundation of Christianity and what we believe.

[00:07:32]>> Yeah. So, he's a Jew, but still gave us a new covenant. Because even in the Old Testament, Jeremiah 31:31, Yahweh says that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and will not be like the one of old. And then we see in Matthew 26:28, Jesus says, "This is my blood of the new covenant that will be shed for the forgiveness of sins." So, although he was a Jew, he is the one that gave us the new covenant for he is the beginning of the new covenant as he sheds his blood and he rises from the from the grave.

[00:07:57]And that is what we offer to you. We invite you to that faith. We invite you to Christianity to go experience God for himself, to go read his word, to read the Old Testament, to go see how even God foretold that Jesus Christ would come and die and Jesus Christ would come and, you know, save the world. Because in Genesis 3:15, it prophesies how the seed of the woman in the garden would crush the serpent's head, right? So, we see that even from the beginning, God foretold how he would save and redeem mankind. And we're just telling you to go take a look at it. Go read the Old Testament, read the New Testament, and analyze how God has moved through history because we have the truth. So, we invite investigation.
