Edison Format Round 1: Destiny Heroes Vs Hero Beat Stun!

[00:00:01]All right, guys. We are back with round one Edison format at Epic Cards and Games in Hurst, Texas. We have Edward on the left versus Geo on the right. Now, Edward is from Oklahoma. This tournament was actually 2 days before our big Epic Monthly that was live streamed. And I believe Edward just was here for the weekend.

[00:00:19]So, yeah, he played all 3 days cuz we had the our regular local on Thursday.

[00:00:23]Friday, we had two side events. And then Saturday was the big Edison Monthly. And yeah, he was I guess he was just here for the weekend.

[00:00:29]Came down from Oklahoma. Uh now, he's playing some Hero variants with Diamond Dude, while Geo is playing a Hero Beat deck. But it I don't think either of these two decks are standard.

[00:00:39]Now, Geo, I think this is his second time at the local. I'm not too familiar with him, either.

[00:00:44]So, we'll see how they do. I'm not sure how familiar they are with Edison. But I know Edward, again, he played he played all 3 days. So, he was actually on stream for the monthly.

[00:01:10]So, it looks like Geo just passes. But yeah, neither one of these two decks are standard, and I didn't really ask these two cuz I don't want to ask them what they're playing before they sit down. I just whenever I see people who come from out of town, I tend to try to get them on camera.

[00:01:44]Now, who will I be rooting for? Um I'm rooting for Edward cuz he's playing the much spicier deck. I I think Geo's just playing a Hero Beat deck, but with like a bunch of tech cards.

[00:01:54]Like Phoenix Chain is a card that you don't see in Edison format. It's You see it a lot in Re-Doo.

[00:02:00]I think just Re-Doo. You don't even see it in Tengu format. Yeah, it's just that this more more of a Re-Doo card.

[00:02:07]All right, so he Phoenix Chains the Stratos. Main phase two, Edward activates Rota.

[00:02:14]Adds Diamond Dude. It looks like Destiny Heroes. I see D Draw, I see Plasma. I guess I'm going to call it Destiny Hero.

[00:04:25]I know some stores they force you to get on the live stream and I think I technically could have enforced it but I I try not to.

[00:04:33]But I think at the monthly's I might I might have to enforce people to get on stream.

[00:05:03]It's just up to you what card is going to hurt you the most.

[00:05:06]The Dyna might hurt you if you can't answer it.

[00:05:09]So, he chose the Caius.

[00:05:17]But he's got like E Call in hand. He's But he also has Gale to answer Ab Zero, so I don't know Caius was the right call, man.

[00:05:28]The Gale and Fossil Dyna are pretty good cuz they both answer Ab Zero.

[00:05:54]Maybe he's playing like the deckless kind of like Angel Flores. If you guys have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! for a long time, maybe remember Angel Flores. He won a YCS with Hero Beat. But, this was after Edison.

[00:06:08]He was main decking Penguin Soldier as I guess it was just his water for Abys Zero. Maybe that's where he took inspiration from.

[00:06:20]I was actually at that YCS that Angel won. I was there.

[00:06:34]He drew King of the Swamp. That's what I was a little afraid of like him not sending back the Dinah. We'll see if he can answer it.

[00:07:10]Sends Plasma. Like Yeah, the thing is I didn't play Yu-Gi-Oh! before It's kind of crazy how it worked out. I didn't play I started playing Yu-Gi-Oh! I've mentioned this in previous videos. I started playing during the actual Edison format. So, any of the formats before that, I'm not too familiar with.

[00:07:28]Like, I'm not familiar with Goat, Perfect Circle, TeleDAD. All those formats I wasn't playing.

[00:07:36]Mhm. I started playing right in Edison.

[00:07:38]My My first sneak peek was The Shining Darkness.

[00:07:41]Which is when Dark Soul came out, Infernity came out, so and then I stopped playing like 2016 summer 2016.

[00:07:51]It's like a 6-year run and then I came back for it in 3 years ago for Edison.

[00:07:57]You see, I don't even know what this card is. He's reading it, too.

[00:08:02]It's always a bad sign when you have to read your opponent's cards.

[00:08:05]That's why the decks like that tend to a lot of decks tend to perform well not just in Edison and just Yu-Gi-Oh! in general when like your opponent when your opponent has to read your cards.

[00:08:18]Or not that Yeah, just All right, normal summon the Gale half.

[00:08:29]So, it doesn't have an effect.

[00:11:08]So, yeah. And now, Eclipse is like 15 minutes down the road from Epic, and they also host bi-monthly. So, shout out to them cuz it gives the these big events are are great.

[00:11:21]And in Texas right now, we have Epic and Eclipse hosting it. And then also Houston, which is like 4-hour drive from Dallas {slash} Hurst.

[00:11:32]And then we have LDS Houston coming up, which is probably going to be the probably going to be the biggest Edison event since the original one. I'm pretty certain it's going to it's going to break the the record, which Texas already held the record for the second largest Edison tournament not including the original one.

[00:11:50]So, I think we're going to break the break our own record.

[00:11:53]All right, so here Edward goes first summon Stratos.

[00:16:21]See, this might have been a waste though cuz like you're kind of you could just let him you could just crash your Absolut into his Absolut and save your Bottomless. So I don't really like this play by Geo, but he kind of did the same thing game one.

[00:16:48]Or is Fusion Recovery? I don't even know what this card does.

[00:16:54]So I get I guess you you add back Poly and one of the materials. I'm guessing that's what it does.

[00:17:08]Surprised Geo has a ultimate Alias cuz he's not like the rest of his deck looks common.

[00:17:49]I'm just so against that card. I only like it against Blackwing and I maybe Lightsworn.

[00:17:56]Outside of that, I'm just I just do not like that card in Edison format. It's too situational.

[00:18:08]Unless if you play like a deck with a lot of continuous spells like Six Samurai, maybe I could keep it in that deck because you want to keep your gateways and your uniteds up.

[00:18:16]Especially gateway, so maybe in that deck I can I can see main decking uh O call. And that is game, so Swift 2-0 from Geo against Edward from Oklahoma.

[00:18:39]Now, this tournament I only filmed six videos for it. Yeah, only six videos. So I hope I think it was five rounds of Swiss. No, it was four rounds of Swiss.
