Role assigning is a fundamental prompt engineering technique where you assign a specific professional identity or persona to an AI model, which doesn't make the AI smarter but allows it to provide more precise, contextually relevant, and expert-level responses by tailoring its knowledge base to that specific field or expertise area.

1 PROMPT ENGINEERING MASTERCLASS: ROLE ASSIGNINGAñadido:
All right. Hello everyone. So I want to assume that you're here to learn about prompt engineering. Now prompt engineering is very very essential in this time and age. If you do not understand prompt engineering, you won't understand how to communicate with artificial intelligence. And everything is run by artificial intelligence.
So let's get right into it.
So we're going to use Gemini to understand prompt engineering better.
Why is because Gemini is very very very free. If you use chart GPT on one chart to get to a point in time they will ask you to open a new chart to start over or something like that. Why Claude Claude is actually great but you have this um free trials this limits. it say wait for six hours but Gemini free to the call.
All right.
So this is going to be a series of videos. Um I'm going to be attaching this to some AI courses. So if you see this in an AI course or in a VI coding course, don't be surprised. It is essential.
Firstly, let me teach you about role assigning. Now this video is going to just contain the basics. role assigning.
Role assigning is actually assigning a role to artificial intelligence or to the AI model you're using. And it doesn't make it smarter.
It doesn't make it smarter. It just sort of like let's assume that um you are in a church, right? You know some things about the Bible.
Now because you are in a church, you are that you are in that churchy mode. So when they ask you anything related to the Bible, your instinct is just fast because you're in that churchy mode. And when they ask you something related to work, you're not in that mood, you know, or maybe mosque or something like that.
And because you're not in that mood, you don't answer quickly because you have to sort of like start to get into that mood. And that's exactly how it is for artificial intelligence. So when you assign a role to it, it's not like it's making it more intelligent or or smarter. It's just that you're sort of like allowing it to give you information based on precise knowledge. So instead of it going from place to place trying to look for your answer in different fields, it just sort of like tailors your answer around that field. So your answers are more uh direct and that is very incredible. So let's start with the basics.
You are a um digital marketing professional.
So you have just assigned it a role.
All right. Can you see I got my coffee in my hand and my analytics dashboard open. Let's get to work. So can you see that? So you have assigned it a role. So if I say um something like uh what is your best Facebook ad strategy enter now we're going to compare the answer it give here to the answer it give without assigning a role. So let's open a new chart. Okay. So he says, can you see this?
All right. From micromanagement.
Okay. The gold standard is simplified consolidation. Okay. Incredible.
As I mentioned, Gemini, my phone picked it.
Amazing, right?
All right. So can you see it gives this the power of two which is scaling campaign.
All right. So this is impressive. Right.
So let's take this to a new chart and ask it the same question now. You see what it says here. Now it's ready to So what are you currently promoting? I can help you brainstorm a specific hook for your next creative test. So everything that is going to be doing will be around what? Digital marketing.
Now can you see this? It gives a totally different answer.
Now it says the advantage plus shopping framework the three stage because now it's giving answers based on okay let me just grab from this gra from this. It's giving random answers.
Can you see the 60 3010 budget rule? So it's giving random answers. So yeah, I've given it the persona of a digital marketing professional. So it's giving specific answers.
Now if I say something like you are a digital marketing professional that has worked with Nike, worked with Adidas, worked with Coca-Cola. Now it to give answers around Nike's uh digital marketing strategies uh Adidas and all of the companies that I mentioned. Can you see that? That is what role assigning does.
That is what role assigning does. So now excuse me.
Now can you see this same? So I say we are digital marketing professional that graduated from Avad worked with Nike Adidas Coca-Cola and generated them millions.
in revenue from successful marketing campaigns.
So, can you see this? I didn't just assign the the um the title, the role. I also assigned like um the achievement I gave it a CV. So can you see this? I gave it a what? A CV.
Now we're going to take that same question.
Uh sorry, where is the question?
What is your best Facebook ad strategy?
Can you see this? Now it's ready.
You see that the answer to give will be totally different.
Can you see this? The power of three account campaign campaign A, campaign B, campaign C. So can you see this?
Can you see this?
So can you compare this answer to the previous answer?
Can you compare it to this answer?
Now it is giving answers based on the persona that you have given it as an expert that has worked with Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola and generated them millions in revenue from successful marketing campaigns. Now this also works with CH GPT claude and any AI model that you're working with.
Any AI model that you're working with.
Now number two is uh context.
Context. Now context is actually very very great. Now I've just told it that um I've just told it that sorry that it is uh the marketing genius digital marketing professional D but it lacks context of what I am working with. So this is still a random answer even though it is more niched.
Now we're trying to niche down the answers. So the answers are like this before. We've niched it down to this.
Now we want to niche it down further to something that suits us. So I can say I own a um barbing salon that makes air products.
for people with dry air.
Now we have sold more products and earned more from the products than from cutting air.
What marketing strategy do you suggest?
That's question number one. So we've provided context for it.
Okay, let me provide more context.
And all of the products were ordered on our website using organic marketing.
So can you see this? What marketing strategy do you suggest and we are planning on putting 50 okay putting rather putting 5050. So it's all about context of the budget into the product and the uh barbing salon.
We want your professional advice. So you know they always talk about talking to professional or talking to professionals.
You say you have to talk we want your professional advice. Talking to professionals before you make all of this drastic business decisions. Now the best thing is that all of those professionals their advice their ideas and all of these stuffs are already online for AI to access. So all you need to do is create a persona by assigning a role to the AI. That's number one role. Number two is giving it context.
So I can fish out the right information for you. So now it is acting as the professional that you're talking to before you sort of like um make that business decision. Now this is this is a classic pivot moment in business.
You've successfully moved from a service-based model local limited assets to a productbased model. In my experience with Can you see this? Can you hear this? In my experience with brands like Nike, we often see that the service, the Atlas performance is the authority builder, but the product is the revenue engine.
Re-evaluate your 50/50 budget split. I strongly advise against it. Suggested split 80% product, 20% salon. Can you see this? And then he gives more advice based on what the persona that we have or the role that we have assigned to it as a digital marketing professional that graduated from AVAD and worked with Nike. He didn't just work with Nike but he has actually generated millions in revenue from successful marketing and sales. Now you can do this with your programming, your VI coding. You can assign a role. I wish I could show you my um the project I'm working on.
Actually pinned a chart and I assigned a role and I said you you are in charge of security. you are a cyber security expert that has worked with this this Microsoft this this that and has saved them from uh tons of hacking or has closed all the back doors and I save them for I saved them millions in revenue by protecting the systems and the apps and every time I finish coding I'll just go there and say okay inspect all of the codes that I've just written okay are we still safe are we still safe and that's exactly how it is whether a startup founder. You can do the same thing and assign it the role of um a data analyst and a venture capitalist that has actually raised millions of dollars for top businesses that have generated billions in revenue. Boom. Can you see that? Then the last one is instruction. Now you want it to be able to expiate on things. Can you see this?
Expansiate on things. You want to give it words like explain, compare, create a plan, generate an idea. And in fact, Claude is actually very very good with that. Chipity is also very very good with that. But um the pro version of um Gemini is actually also very good with that. So you can just click pro is actually very limited.
So you can try to use it a little bit.
So you can say generate a full marketing plan for my product.
Can you see this? Generate a full marketing plan for my product. Now, that's an instruction. The generate, that's the instruction there. Now, we can give it more context. Remember, I told you works better with context. We want to scale to um sell 10,000 of uh air products this year. So can you see this this here? So can you see this? Now we have told you that hey look look look look. So the marketing plan is mainly for our air product. We want to scale 10,000 of it.
So can you see this? So this is where you use the pro. This is where you use the pro. So just watch it. Just watch it work. Now like I said you can use claude for this. You can use uh um what's the name? Chipity for this. But you can also use Gemini Pro.
Now, can you see this?
Can you see this? It's generating it in faces.
It's not just generating it in faces.
It's generating it in faces based on the role that you have given it to or given to it rather. So, can you see here it mentioned something? It says the Coca-Cola model to sell 10,000 units, you don't need 10,000 new customers.
If your product is great, people will run out and need more. Can you see that it has generated it for me? In what faces? So remember what I said, the role, the context. Can you see that? the context and the what instruction.
So now you understand prompt engineering. You understand the basics of prompt engineering. So in the next video I'll be diving deeper. I'll be diving deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper.
My name is King Ezekiel. See you in the next video.
