Back when I first started out in Film, I scored a movie that was a shark movie

[00:00:00]Post production worker here. Look, no matter how much music I put in that scene, the shark fin will not swim faster. Rewinding all the way back to 2010 on one of my first movies. It was a shark movie because that's where I got my start doing shark movies. And so, there's a shot where there was a shark fin in the water and it was a shark fin that was a practical fin and it's supposed to be swimming towards this boat. Well, guess what? On set, they had said, "Oh, don't worry, it's going to look great. We'll just pull it through the water and it's going to look great.

[00:00:29]It's going to look like it's swimming.

[00:00:30]It's going to look awesome." Well, in practice, it did not look that great. In fact, um it basically looked like it wasn't moving at all. This was the number one noted sequence for music in this movie and basically every time I brought it to the director, he just like, "More music, more stuff, more action, more things. Put more in it. Put more in it. Put more in it." I said, "Man, like but but like there's already so much. Like there's so much stuff going on. Like I don't really have any any more to give." He said, "Well, the shark fin doesn't look like it's moving.

[00:00:58]It's not exciting. Like the shark fin's not moving. I have We have to make up for it in other ways. No matter how much music you put in that, no matter how much I do, it's not going to fix the problem. It It It only is a band-aid for the real issue. Can we make things more exciting with music? Of course, that's part of what I'm here for. We can direct things. We can kind of direct the audience's attention, their emotions, their their attention in the scene, but at the end of the day, no matter what I do, the shark fin is not going to move.
