Play Time Crisis at Home Again? Light Gun Revival at PAX East 2026

[00:00:00]What's cracking nerds? Spencer for Noisy Pixel here at the Game Booth on day three of PAX East 2026. We're going to talk about this incredible new thing. If you've ever played a light gun game, it'll get you pretty excited as it lets you actually do it at home. Can you tell me a bit about Game right off the bat?

[00:00:13]Yeah, of course. So, Game is a new way to play light gun games.

[00:00:18]There is no sensors, there's no PC involved. We have our own mini console.

[00:00:22]It is pre-trained AI, so it detects We trained it to know what a screen looks like. So, when you set the console up, I'll plug the gun in, it will also detect the screen. And when you calibrate it, it takes the calibration data points from your calibration, and then that fine-tunes your accuracy. It knows where you're pointing it. We just finished playing it as you can watch right now. It's super fun, and these games have been pretty inaccessible in terms of being at home for a very long time. What made this the time to kind of bring these games to the house? Was it more possible now? What was that about?

[00:00:51]>> With this, we've been developing this since 2023. So, we've been working on it for a while now. And we sort of thought like there's a whole generation of gamers that have not actually played light gun games before. So, we want to get light gun games back into homes, back into family homes, and like people enjoying these games again cuz it's such an immersive way of playing. So, we thought it was a really good time, especially to celebrate Time Crisis anniversary. It felt like the perfect time to bring that classic back. And the the gun itself is very sleek and it looks exactly the way like I remember them looking, plus all the buttons that you use are super satisfying. How What was the design approach to that? How did you go about making it as satisfying as possible?

[00:01:27]>> So, we had many designs, different types, very futuristic designs, but also bigger types and smaller types of the pistol. However, we really wanted to base it off the the GunCon that Namco did. Celebrating the anniversary of Time Crisis, we felt like it was appropriate to make it that nostalgic, making it how people remember it essentially. So, we really fine-tune it, and that's that's how it goes. Its design is based off the original GunCon. Amazing. And for people who are super interested in this, where can they find out more?
