DMan1954 masterfully deconstructs the show's temporal mechanics, turning speculative lore into a compelling study of narrative causality. It is a rare example of fan analysis that adds genuine intellectual weight to a blockbuster franchise.

Undoing The Past! Monarch: Legacy of Monsters S2 Predictions – Ends of the EarthAdded:
What's up, everybody? D-Man back.
Welcome to a brand new video, and today we're going to be doing another Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 episode 9 predictions video. In this one, we are talking about the next episode, Ends of the Earth, which is shaping up to be the single most important episode of Monarch ever. This will potentially set the stage for not only what's to come, but could completely alter the way we see not just every single episode of this show, but even the MonsterVerse films themselves. Let's get on into it.
In the last video, we jumped on into the past plot line for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 episode 9. We are confirmed to be returning to the past plot line this next episode with Bill Randa, and it seems like this is going to be a major, major game changer for Bill Randa's storyline. Go check out my last video for more. In the last video, I discussed some theories about Bill Randa. What exactly is going on with him? But we're not done, cuz he's not the only one that I think our characters will be able to potentially alter their fate. In this video, I'm going to go into what exactly Kentaro's up to and how it could either alter or complete the history of the MonsterVerse. So, let's jump on in, starting out with our new plot synopsis.
The plot synopsis for the new episode was released, and it doesn't give us a huge hint, but it kind of tease us in the right direction here. Monarch and the team head to Skull Island. Cate tries to reason with Kentaro and stop Isabel. Shaw and Keiko search for Billy's long-lost rift. Well, I think Shaw and Keiko searching for Billy's rift will be on Skull Island, as well as obviously the gang is heading there the next episode. I don't think Cate is going to be able to successfully stop Isabel's plan. I think that's still going through. But what is Isabel's plan? I think it's just going to be to lure Titan X to Skull Island to enter a rift using Titan X. Obviously, in Monarch, we've established that you need a Titan to enter a rift in order for them to open. That's probably what she's trying to accomplish here. I originally thought she was going to be using a rift in Thailand, but I I'm not thinking that's going to happen anymore. I think it's going to be on Skull Island. Maybe her exit strategy is in Thailand. That might make a little more sense. But that means we're heading to Skull Island. So, that already gives us an indication on why Godzilla might let Titan X go.
Before we get to Godzilla, there's one unaccounted for team that I will not be talking about in the next predictions video very much, and that is Apex Cybernetics themselves. I'm actually kind of thinking that Apex Cybernetics storyline is drawn to a bit of a close this season. We only have two episodes left, and there's a lot of other moving parts going on. I've seen a lot of people theorizing that Isabel is working with the hyenas and Ellen Jonas' group from Godzilla: King of the Monsters. I highly doubt it, considering Ellen Jonas' entire motivation was to cause the mass awakening, more G-Days, and Isabel wants to erase the one that already happened. So, I highly, highly doubt that. She's obviously not working with Apex. So, what is Apex doing? Well, I don't think Apex is going to be directly involved here. Isabel's clearly leeching off of Apex's materials and resources to initiate her plan, which means they're going to find out eventually, especially now that May has tipped off Brenda to what's going on. I could totally see Apex trying to work with Monarch to stop Isabel, realizing either the dangers in this plan or wanting to do it themselves rather than letting her do it. I could totally see that being the way it goes, and that these two organizations, which are rivals, have to team up in order to stop her. I think that'd be pretty interesting. They've already worked together fairly well in the past.
Obviously, the mission on Skull Island was a joint operation, so it could work out in the present as well. I think as far as Apex goes, though, we're sticking with Brenda as our firm representative for them, and it's possible she's severely punished for what's happened so far by Apex. She seemed to imply that she might even be killed in the last episode. I don't think she will be, but she might need to run away from Apex and go to Monarch if the two organizations don't team up in order to get safety from Apex. I could see something like that happening. She didn't really engage in the redemption arc I thought she was going to. She seems to still be a company player. Maybe it's because Apex has some sort of leverage over her that she can't let go yet. But I do still think that there will be a subtle redemption arc for Brenda coming up in the future. And I think a lot of that could play into her helping Monarch stop Isabel's plan.
As far as Godzilla, a lot of this episode seems to be centered around the chase itself. Shaw and Keiko, I think, are going to be immediately picked up by Tim and Monarch. In fact, they might not even show that they were going to be picked up by an EVAC helicopter or whatever at the end of the last episode.
So, we might just cut to Shaw and Keiko are back on outpost 18 with Tim. May is clearly going to join them, and together they're in hot pursuit of Godzilla, who is following behind Titan X. Where are they all heading? Well, like I said, I think Isabel's plan is going to be to lure Titan X to Skull Island using the egg in hopes of activating the rift on Skull Island so that they can go into Axis Mundi together. That way, they can navigate time and try and go back in time to erase G-Day. Cate's going to try to redeem Kentaro, obviously, based on that plot synopsis, but it's not going to work in this episode. I do think she'll lay the seeds that will really help Kentaro through this, as I don't think he's going to fall into this a villain arc fully. I think he is actually going to walk the line and come back onto the good side. I think he will eventually find his way back to Monarch here. But one reason Kentaro might be going through with this plan is not because he wants to undo G-Day. In the last episode, he tells Cate he's not with them, despite the fact that he's helping Isabel's team. So, what does he want to do? If he doesn't seem to believe in her plan to undo the events of G-Day, what exactly does he want?
It's possible he wants Hiroshi. If he finds out there's a way to navigate time, maybe he wants to go back in time and warn Hiroshi about his death. A commenter pointed this out, but this makes complete sense. Kentaro's favorite movie was established earlier this season as Back to the Future in a scene that was kind of random. Like, why did they mention that? Well, maybe the reason they mentioned that is cuz Kentaro was inspired by Marty McFly, who warns Doc Brown about his own death and prevents it in the future. I could totally see Hiroshi and Kentaro interacting through the time barrier in Axis Mundi the way that Lee Shaw was able to interact with himself, and it's possible that either Hiroshi is warned about his death and the future changes, or Kentaro and Hiroshi meet up. Kentaro warns Hiroshi, "Hey, Axis Mundi isn't what you think. One day down here equals 1 year on the surface. You're going to be gone a lot longer than you think. You got to get back up there. Also, I got to warn you about something." Maybe going to go the Back to the Future route, where Hiroshi's like, "Hey, you told me enough. I don't want to know my fate. I don't need to know my future. I will come find you." You know, like something like that. Based on the way that Hiroshi talks to Kentaro in episode 6 during the flashback when he reveals he went to Axis Mundi, he reveals it to him for a reason. He reveals it to him because he wants Kentaro to know this. He wants Kentaro to know that because of Kentaro, he got that missing year back. How so?
Maybe it's because he got a warning from Kentaro about how much time was passing, and he was able to go back to the surface before it was too late. It could be entirely something like that, which I think would be really interesting. And that's where I'm going to leave you guys for this one. In the next one, we are going to get into that Godzilla versus Titan X rematch fight. I actually have some theories that I absolutely love, which come from you guys, which don't just help to clarify what's going on in this show, but also really help to better understand the MonsterVerse's version of Godzilla. I'm very excited to share those theories with you guys and see what you think. So, make sure to look out for that video by subscribing today.
