This video effectively exposes the common intellectual trap of over-generalizing data, a mistake even the most "educated" often make. It’s a necessary reminder that a sample is never the whole story.

Most students get this SAT statistics question wrong..Added:
Most SAT students get this wrong. Can you solve it? A health organization randomly surveyed 1,200 teenagers and asked each teenager, "Do you exercise for at least 30 minutes per day?" 64% reported that they did. Which of the following statements must be true? 1 2 or three? I know this is the ugliest mother freaking thing to look at, but don't be scared away by these. You just go peace meal and they're pretty simple.
Let's completely ignore the answer choices and just validate or invalidate each statement with a check mark. One, of all teenagers in the school district, 64% exercise for at least 30 minutes per day. All really, we had a survey of 1,200 students and 64% of them exercise this much. That's one sample, not all students. Kill it. Two. If another 1,200 teens selected at random from the same district were surveyed, 64% of them would report the same thing. So, you're telling me that in our first survey, exactly 768 kids said they exercise? If we ask a whole new group of 1,200, exactly 768 would say the same thing.
Not like 764 or 300. Then get out of here, too. Last one. Three. If 1,200 teens from a different school were surveyed, 64% of them would report they exercise. Bro, that's the same ridiculous idea as number two. It's a different group of people. The answer is none of these. Want more SAT hacks?
