Low IgG antibody levels or low absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) below 600 increase infection risk in MS patients, requiring caution in treatment decisions; healthcare providers may delay scheduled redoses and monitor labs more frequently to allow immune levels to recover.

If your IGG goes too low, it increases your risk of infection #msHinzugefügt:
If the IgG, the antibody level, goes too low, it increases your risk for infection because you don't have enough antibodies circulating to fight off bad guys. Similarly, if your absolute lymphocyte count also goes low, it means the exact same thing. You don't have enough of the white blood cells to fight off foreign invaders. So, at the Boster Center for MS, we use a safety threshold. If the IgG or if the ALC is less than 600, then we apply caution.
And let me add something. It's not just looking at lab numbers.
If the person tells us that they've been having recurrent infections, or God forbid, were hospitalized for infection, that also makes us take the same amount of caution. And if we see any of those things, we may opt not to redose on schedule at 6 months, but instead to check labs a couple months later and re-evaluate, waiting for those levels to rise up to decrease their risk for infection.
