Downtown Lanesville is flooded, reports say
Added:much and I do just want to give you just a little bit of a run down of what we've been getting in from the National Weather Service and a number of our Lanesville area residents. We have been told now downtown Lanesville is flooded.
Nowhere is dry land at this point. Heavy intense rain as you heard Matt say from 6 to 8 inches within the last 12 hours.
That is a lot of water there and rescues are underway. A lot of people unable to get in and out of downtown. We're seeing some videos of people saying that they're stuck at the post office at a number of their local bank branches waiting for boats to come and get them.
Highway 62 also closed because of water over the roadway there. So a very treacherous afternoon here in the Harrison County area of Lanesville.
Please make your way out of that area if possible and avoid that. We will of course continue in the next 5 minutes or so we'll come back and bring you the latest on uh the rainfall and it's it's not over yet. We know more is going to be on the way with some possibility of severe weather headed your way tonight.
We'll be right back.
