They held an emergency meeting last night and they voted with 90% approval to formally punish their own governor for showing mercy to a 70-year-old gold star grandma with no previous record. They banned him from party events. Senator Michael Bennett called the move disqualifying, referring to Polus potentially being appointed to Senate if Bennett wins the governor seat in November. Some even want him impeached over a clemency decision that is completely 100% within his legal authority. But here's the part almost nobody is talking about. Don't give Polus too much credit yet. On the exact same day Pis commuted Tina Peter sentence, he also granted clemency to a man convicted in a violent 2008 crime spree. kidnapping, robbery, a Douglas County deputy shot and permanently injured and he was sentenced to 50 years. That commutation crickets from the Democratic party. No outrage from party leaders, no censure campaign, no signature drive, no impeachment calls, nothing. Pulis says he stands by the Tina Peters decision.
