The Vedic math technique called 'Ekadiken Purvena' (one more than the previous one) provides an instant method to square two-digit numbers ending in 5 by: (1) taking 25 as the suffix since 5²=25, (2) multiplying the tens digit by its successor (the next number), and (3) combining the product with the suffix. For example, 65² = 6×7 = 42, so the answer is 4225, and 85² = 8×9 = 72, so the answer is 7225.

Hello my dear students. Today we are going to learn a very interesting Vedic maths technique called Ekadiken Purvena which means one more than the previous one.
It provides an instant way to square two-digit numbers ending in five.
With this amazing trick, you will be able to find squares of numbers quickly and almost magically.
So get ready to enjoy maths in a fun way. Let us begin our exciting journey into the world of fast calculations.
Let's find the square of 65 using the Vedic method.
Here we have to find the square of 65.
The ones digit of 65 is five and the square of five is 25.
We will take this 25 as suffix.
I'm here 25 and me he lagayenge to hamara answer ayega uski.
Okay?
As we have five in the ones place, the square of five is 25 which is suffix.
Okay? Now the tens digit is six.
You have to take the successor of six which is seven.
You know the successor of six is seven.
Now multiply this six and seven.
Multiply six and seven, you will get 42.
So my number is 4 2 2 5.
I can say the square of 65 is 4 2 2 5.
4,225.
Let's take one more example. Now, we have to calculate the square of 85.
Okay.
This is 85.
We have to find the square of 85. Again, as we have ones place five and the five square is 25.
Right?
For the tens place, we have to take the next number of this or you can say the successor of eight, which is nine. Just multiply nine and eight together, which gives you 72.
We have to take this 25 as suffix. Isko humne end me hi lagana hai. Right? Okay.
So, the number [music] is 7 2 2 5, which means the square of 85 is 7,225.
Okay?
Here, we have given you some questions which you have to solve by using this method.
By using Vedic trick.
This is homework for you.
