This Day Is Almost Too Much To Handle...Added:
Come here. Have a seat there, buddy.
>> See his neck? Look at that.
>> I'll meet you back over at the mulch pile.
>> Sounds good.
>> Okay, >> I'm going to do it. No, y'all are not supposed to be in the pond. Why?
>> What are you doing?
>> Giving him a bath.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> He loves it. See >> old Larry.
>> He's like hiding out. Hey, didn't you find a swimming pool?
>> Yeah.
>> Isn't it in the >> It's in the van.
>> In the van?
>> Yeah. I don't want them sliding around there.
>> Yeah. I gota >> Yeah.
>> Got to be careful with their feet, huh?
>> Yeah. With their legs.
>> I got you.
>> Hi, girl.
>> They absolutely love it. That's funny.
>> Yeah. Look at her. She's even getting in on >> I see that. Awesome. I'm going to devote the first part of the day to doing some spring cleaning. That involves firing up the old 5055.
It's been a couple of days. Will she start?
One of my favorite things is just being able to mess around on these tractors. I love it. It's so fun. Let's climb aboard.
So, we had the tractor parked here yesterday to give these guys a little bit of shade in their temporary enclosure. And now the van's going to be doing that job. There's Aaron on the little tractor.
Tractor wars.
I'm going to flip you over.
First order of business is getting the old scrap trailer hooked up. I think I pulled too far forward.
That should be pretty close. We should just apply some pressure with it this way while I lift it up, will you?
>> Yeah.
>> Going up.
>> Huh?
>> Forward a little bit.
>> Do I?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
Did we drop down on there?
>> Yeah, >> there it is.
>> You got it. Okay, we're all hooked up.
Let's go get to cleaning up around here.
Just pass this lawn mower sitting here in the driveway and I ask Aaron where this thing came from.
>> I'm fixing it for a friend.
>> And it's also a repeat customer, right?
>> Yes.
>> That's pretty cool. Does it run at all?
>> No.
>> Have you messed with it?
>> No.
>> Getting fire?
>> I don't know. I haven't messed with it.
>> Huh. Sounds like it's got good compression.
>> Yeah.
>> How's the oil?
>> I don't know.
>> I not touched it yet.
>> I bet you can get it going pretty quick.
>> Yeah.
>> Shoot some old starting fluid in there to kick it off to see if it actually fires and go from there, huh?
>> Yeah.
>> It's our little mechanic right there.
Oh, by the way, how much longer till you fix my thing over there?
>> What?
>> My buggy.
>> I don't know.
>> He's too busy. I've been after him for about a week now to get mine done. But >> no, it is not true.
>> No room on the schedule for pops, is there?
>> That is not true.
>> We spent pretty much the whole day cleaning this place up and organizing.
And I got to say, the kids were a huge help. We also picked up a free chest freezer that works just fine. So, we're getting that sucker cleaned out and we're going to move it in. But it is looking a whole lot better out here.
Still not entirely done, but it stresses me out a whole lot less looking at it now. Hi little turkeys.
Hi. Hi there little guy.
Hi.
Hello.
I think Stacy is over turkeys at this point. I think she has a trade deal in the works where she's going to trade turkeys for eggs or ducks or something.
It's hard to keep up with. She she's got a lot going on as far as the feathered foul go. She also has another pretty interesting deal in the works that's going to take place within the next couple of days that I'm pretty excited to share with you guys. That girl's crazy. We have the scrap trailer loaded down. Most of it was already on the property when we took it over. Um, and I think this is the last load of junk from up here. We still have the massive scrap pile down in the back to deal with, but after this load and then maybe half a load more, that'll be all of the junk metal from up here. And this is I think our third load, which is crazy. We are all loaded up and ready to roll. Hope all that stuff makes it to the scrapard. But we made it to the scrapard without losing anything. You got a guess on what this is going to pay.
>> 85.
>> I was going to say $86.
He says$85. I say 86. We'll see.
Got the old trailer empty. Now it's time to go see what we weigh unloaded.
Hoping for at least 86 bucks. We got paid. I haven't looked at the receipt yet. So, we'll do it like this.
One, two, three, eight.
Oo, a 50. And boom. Dude, >> that >> we were off by a lot on that. That's pretty decent. 170 bucks. That's not bad. That's way more than I thought we were going to get. That's going to help us out quite a bit cuz we got some work to do to this trailer back here that we're towing. A lot of work. The sun's getting low in the sky and we are finally done with all the running.
So glad. Uh after we got done with the scrap metal, we had to head over to the metal supply place and pick up some of this receiver channel uh for this structure we're throwing together here. I know I filmed this before, but I think it was one of the videos that we lost audio on. So, you may have never seen it. This extension of this existing carport here is going to be for mom and dad. Their camper leaks like a civ when it rains and they got a quote for a new roof on their camper for something like $4,000 or something like that. Maybe even more than that actually. Um, but anyway, we decided it would be a lot cheaper for them to construct an awning for their camper to fit under. So, this has been in the works for a while. We got the post set in the ground. So by the time it's all said and done, this structure is going to come out this way another 12 ft and the total length is going to be 35 ft long. So all of this will be part of the covered carport. Now I think now we have all of the materials. It's taken several months to get everything together just because building materials are pretty expensive and we've done a little bit each month, but we're getting ready to start building now.
>> What is it?
>> Yes.
>> Larry, what are you doing? Stacy was just saying Larry's got a spot on his neck cuz when he's out here in this pin, he just runs the fence back and forth and back and forth. She said he's been rubbing on that and uh it's messing him up a little bit, huh?
>> Yeah, it is. Oh, nope. I'm about to be running.
>> It's just the red wasp.
>> He literally just pissed at the camera.
He's a little camera shy today. He's had a long day. He's been outside since about 8:30 this morning. Here he comes back. Larry, you want to tell us what you think? Huh?
Talk to us, Larry.
>> This thing right here is like a dog. He literally climbs up in Stacy's lap and just hangs out with her.
>> Yeah, he does. He's very sweet and loving. Now he's coming to see you.
>> Hello, Larry.
>> Trying to peck at your shoes.
>> Come here. Come here. Have a seat there, buddy.
>> See his neck? Look at that.
>> Oh, yeah. That's from rubbing on the fence, you think?
>> Yes. I thought at first he was losing his feathers and getting new ones in, but no. Nope. He's hurting himself.
>> Well, how can we fix that?
>> I don't know.
I guess bigger space, >> huh?
>> He wants to be up by the house.
>> I see. He wants to come back home.
>> He's a dog.
He's trying to get whatever's in your pocket.
>> Hey, my pocket.
>> What the heck?
>> I don't know. He must have found something that wasn't good. He's like, "Yuck, yuck.
>> Quit.
He doesn't like me touching his head.
>> No. And then you made him yawn.
>> What's wrong, Gertie? Birdie.
>> Who knew emos emos?
Who knew emus could be so cool?
>> Now she's coming to peck at you, >> girl.
>> Larry's so chill.
>> He really is.
>> Stay out of my pocket, bro. And she's a little follower. Anything he he does, she comes and does, too. She's always following this guy around.
Well, we have been out running all day today. We made it home with just enough time to tackle a couple of small projects. Stacy traded a bunch of turkeys today. How many?
>> Eight turkeys. Eight turkeys for a total of >> 42 duck eggs.
>> Yeah. And those are >> in the incubator.
28 days. I'll have some more babies.
Very exciting.
>> This is what Stacy's been doing. She's been just been trading birds and eggs.
Birds for eggs. Eggs for birds. You've been having some fun with it, huh?
>> I've been having a blast with it. I absolutely love it because I get to add on to some stuff and then I guess uh find homes for other stuff.
>> Link up with other crazy bird ladies in the area.
>> I love it. It's a good way to meet people and Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Connect with others that have the same interest as what you do.
>> Stacy has uh something else really cool lined up >> for Monday morning as well. So keep an eye out for that. It's going to be She's nuts.
>> Just wait and see what I've done.
>> Oh my gosh. Are you ready?
>> Yeah, I'm ready.
>> Let's get some work done.
>> All right.
>> I'm going to get you to give me a ride to the tractor. Sound good?
>> Okay. Well, come on, Patra.
>> Key on.
>> Uh, yes.
>> Okay. And here we go. Patrick, can you make some room for me?
Okay, I got to take the hay forks off of the tractor and grab the bucket. So, you got time if you want to give the dogs a quick run.
>> Okay, I will >> I'll meet you back over at the mulch pile.
>> Sounds good.
>> Okay, >> I'm going to do it.
Come on.
>> Go run. Was kicking around over here the other day starting to clean this area up and I found we got some more metal pipes over here. Some scraps of them anyway.
And who knows what else is going to be laying in over here. All this junk. Who knows what else we'll find in here.
Start up little Johnny here.
We'll pull the pins on this little hay attachment here and then we'll go scoop up the bucket.
I love how easy it is to switch the implements off of the front of this tractor. It's just that simple to drop the one you got on the front and then you can pick up the next one the same way. Just as easy.
No, y'all are not supposed to be in the pond. Why? Come on.
This is supposed to be a nice little run, not a swim. Come on.
Tedd gum it dogs.
>> Stacy made it up top and we're backed up to the mulch. We're going to get some put in there. Can't help but notice all your dogs are wet.
>> Oh yeah. Our journey was quite recorded.
>> That shall be shown.
>> I guess I'll find out when I go to edit.
Okay, let's get some mulch in that little buggy.
>> Come on, you wet mongrels.
are terrible.
Come on.
You're already gross.
That was a bad place to stand.
>> Oh, yeah. You get all dusty.
>> Yeah, that's why I moved.
>> Hopefully that's not too heavy for the little buggy. Huh?
>> Shouldn't me.
>> Ah, she don't mind at all. Come on, honey.
>> I was wondering, am I going to walk?
Well, you get to run.
>> We're going to go ahead and mulch these flower beds. A lot of the comments said to do so, so that's what we're going to do. I think our cucumber plants are just about toast. And I do think that it's because uh the soil's just drying up way too fast. Don't know if we'll be able to bring them back or not. We're going to try a little experiment to where we keep uh continually watering them with goose water. We'll see how that works. For now, we're going to put this on them.
And this stuff really seems to hold moisture well.
Not as fine as I would like it to be, but uh I think it'll do the trick. We may have some bigger sticks to pick out, but I think that'll end up being okay.
What do you think?
>> Yeah, give it a shot.
>> Whoa, I just tripped on a water buffalo.
>> Boy, this dog is disgusting. Look at her. She's already been in the pond. She decided to walk in a mud puddle. Mila, you stink. You need a bath.
>> Uhoh.
>> I mean, that with all my heart. You stink.
>> That is not her favorite word, is it?
>> No. No. She really did it today.
Dogs.
Oh, what a mess. I'm going to stand over here. Don't worry, Mila. I mean, nothing can hurt you at this point. You're dropping it on her.
Yeah, this mulch they dropped off is very sticky.
>> Cool.
>> All right.
>> My little gooers. Nope. You'll stay out there. All right. Let's see what this does. If anything, >> I think it'll help. You want to go ahead and start spreading it out?
>> Sure. Say hi to my little goose friend.
That's how you get them to come running.
They're so friendly. Hopefully, they stay that way. We'll see. I know some geese can be mean. These guys are pretty sweet, though. Hey guys. until it comes to the dogs. Then they want to start to attack them. All right. See, I'm just spread this out.
>> How many more buckets you think we'll need?
>> Uh, I don't know. Maybe >> two, >> maybe. Or one.
>> Oh, okay.
>> He's separated from his crew. He's crying.
>> Well, we want it to be pretty thick around the plants, you know.
>> Yeah.
Let's set that up and see how we feel about it.
>> Yeah, we really want to pile it up in there, you know.
>> Yeah.
>> Keep that.
>> Oh, shoot. Dad gum it. Sorry. Fire ants are all in that.
>> Did you get stung?
>> Yeah, I did.
>> How is it? You always get stung by fire ants. There's like a I hate firing like wholeheartedly, man. I do not like those things. Have fun.
They love me.
>> I think this is going to help. I don't know if it's going to bring them back cuz as you can tell, they're already they're already on their way out. But, uh, we'll see how it goes.
>> I'm not too sure how I feel about it. I think, uh, probably going to just dry out like everything else.
>> This mulch will definitely help.
Okay. So, I'm just packing everything thick on this side and then I'm going to come in with another bucket and bring this side up.
>> Okay.
>> You scared me. I thought there was a snake in here or something.
>> No. Or >> a scorpion. Scorpion is what that came to mind immediately. I was like, uhoh.
>> Nah, I'm jumpy with fire ants.
>> All right. Uh, one more bucket. All right. Third bucket going in.
>> You might as well just get all of that and dump it on here.
>> Yeah.
I thought about just reaching over with the bucket and dumping the whole thing out. I don't know. There might these guys might come back if we if we keep goose watering them. It might just happen.
>> Give them all the nutrients that they need in order to grow. Huh.
>> I think we got a chance.
I think we would probably be better off just getting uh more plants and putting them in there at this point cuz even if those survive, they're going to end up being so gross on it that they probably won't produce anyway. But you know what? It'll be fun to see what happens.
>> Well, it just so happens to have a little flower on it with a cucumber starting to form. So, I mean, anything's worth trying at this point in my opinion.
>> Yeah. It's worth a shot, right?
>> Yep.
>> See what happens.
Okay.
Okay. We should probably do that one, too, huh? What's >> my trick? Well, she knows that I don't see well, so she can just call fire ants in any situation she doesn't want to be a part of anymore.
>> And I won't know whether she's telling the truth or not, >> buddy. I was stung on this finger right here.
>> Oh, that finger in particular, huh?
>> I literally was.
>> Mhm.
>> Yeah. See, look, it's red.
>> Okay. I mean, I still haven't saw a single fire yet, so I'm still Come here.
I'm still very skeptical.
>> Oh, yeah. You're skeptical. You're skeptical. Where are they? Oh, here they all are. I don't know if you can see them on camera or not, but those little boogers are crawling hot all in here.
I will pass.
>> I'm just playing in them at this point, I guess.
>> I don't know. You have fun with your uh virant infested wolf. I'm just going to stand here and watch.
>> Move, geesees.
>> Remy out.
>> I didn't even notice she snuck in here.
>> Of course you did.
>> All right. Looks like >> Watch out. Don't step up on him.
>> Honey, I see him. He's huge.
>> All done. Like I say, I'm not sure about these guys if they're going to make a comeback or not. We'll have to keep an eye on them over the next couple of days. And the strawberries were doing good anyway. But I think this is really going to help just to hold some moisture in this soil. We got it pretty deep, too. About two and a half, three inches worth of mulch there. Not bad. And on top of that, what we're going to do is start saving the water from the ducks.
Ducks. Thank you.
>> By the end of the day, this water is like green and it's got poop in it and all kinds of stuff. So, we're going to start putting that on the vegetable plants.
And uh I think that'll be pretty good.
Oh my gosh, they thought they were tough. All right, what now? We got I don't know, maybe a couple hours of daylight left. What do you want to do?
Should we take the dogs to the pond and let them swim?
>> Yeah, we definitely should because Mila decided to walk through where the uh ducks >> she got muddy. All right, let's do that.
We had almost the perfect amount of mulch. Just a little bit left back here.
It worked out pretty good.
>> And she's off.
>> It's like watching the duck swim, huh?
>> Yeah.
>> Milo's like, "Wait for me."
>> Like, "Wait, we're not going to get in trouble." Go ahead, buddy.
She's like, "Okay."
Oh, man. Wesy still swims all funny.
Look at her.
I thought she was going to go in the water.
Oh man.
>> No, Petra.
No, no, no, no, no.
She ran me off.
>> Mila's like, I ain't getting out of here.
Every single time that we go on a run, Mila always tries to go for the pond and we never let her. So, she knows how special this moment is.
>> They're behind you.
>> It's a race. Who's going to help? Look at Wesley. There goes Petra.
>> Mila gave up.
>> Oh no. You know what's bad?
Petra needs a life jacket cuz Wesie and now she >> Oh, I forgot about that.
>> Yeah.
Patra, are you good?
Petra's about to pass out. Oh my gosh.
And here we go with this.
>> She's trying to roll uphill.
A doofus.
She whipped water on me with her toe. A lot of it.
>> Well, that was a lot of fun. The dogs definitely enjoyed their little pond time, but we got to go.
We've been down here for what?
>> I don't know. Too long.
>> Yeah, for a little bit. They've definitely enjoyed it. Petra just keeps falling over, rolling like so.
There she goes again. Couple more rollsies. Look, we're going to try to get out of here and they do not get too dirty.
We'll see exactly how that works out.
Especially for this one, she can be a bit testy sometimes. Ah, >> the water.
>> I know. She wags her tail. It just goes everywhere. Are you trying to load them?
>> I don't know.
>> I'm not sure what I'm doing. I don't really want her back there cuz she's Oh, no.
>> Oh, Remy jumped up.
>> Yeah.
>> Whoa.
>> Mila, you can forget it. You ain't jumping up there. We had an awesome day today. Today was actually a really good day for Stacy. Um, I don't know. she wasn't hurting so bad or if she was just putting a good mask on today. I'm not sure. But we really got to get out and enjoy the day. We ran a bunch of errands. We even got to go walk around an antique shop and look at all the pretty stuff. It's one of Stacy's favorite things to do and she hasn't got to do that in a long time. So, that was really cool to do today. And I guess we didn't have too much going on in this video, but I hope you all enjoyed it nonetheless. And keep your eyes open for the video on Monday morning. It's going to be an exciting one. It's going to be fun. So, thank y'all for all the love and continued support, and we'll catch you on the next
