(108) The Extra’s Academy Survival Guide - Manhwa RecapAdded:
In the previous chapter, we saw Eid finally opening up about the fear and trauma he had been carrying for so long.
But instead of backing away, Janica stayed by his side and confessed her feelings more honestly than ever before.
And before Eid could even react, Janica suddenly kissed him beneath the sunset, leaving both of them completely overwhelmed. The next morning, Belle quickly noticed the awkward tension between them and started questioning Janica, making her panic even more.
Meanwhile, far away in the holy capital, the royal family gathered to decide Eid's fate after the Roth Hiller tragedy. But just as the king prepared to blame everything on Eid, countless magical swords suddenly appeared across the hall as Lucy stepped forward and demanded to speak. The Clowell Imperial family held a meeting to decide the fate of the Roth Taylor family. However, it was concluded that statements from the family members themselves would be required to fully understand the situation. Tanya Roth Taylor agreed to cooperate with the investigation in Ed Roth Taylor's place. Meanwhile, Lucy Merrell, who had previously appeared as Ed's witness, was ordered to be promptly returned to Arcan Island. Although Miss Merrell had caused a small disturbance during the Imperial Council, her actions were excused in consideration of her contributions during the previous incident. However, she continued staying inside the palace. She had also been mistreating the palace chefs, entering private quarters, and sleeping there for several hours at a time while freely wandering through the palace's restricted areas. The list of actions disturbing the peace and order of the palace had become so vast that they could not all be written down. Since she refused repeated orders to return to the academy, the first princess hoped that Ed Roth Taylor would personally write her a letter requesting her return. The letter had been sent by the first princess of the Clowell Empire, Salaha Ainir Clowell. As the scene continued, Ed silently read through Salaha's letter and wondered what Lucy was even doing inside the palace. Beside him, Belle asked whether he planned to write a response. Ed admitted that he needed to.
At the same time, he noticed Bell clapping and looked confused. Bell explained that she simply felt touched.
Even relationships that seemed stagnant could slowly move forward with time.
Having worked for many years as a maid, she had experienced countless moments that filled her with pride in her work.
To her, this moment felt like a completely new page being added to the book of her experiences. Still, she wondered whether Ed truly intended to become active already. She questioned whether he should spend more time recovering first. Ed reassured her that he was all right. He explained that he was already thinking about building a second floor to use as a workshop and library. Simple tasks were no longer a problem for him, and he insisted that Bell did not need to help with basic work anymore. According to Ed, he had recovered enough to handle such things himself. Bell felt relieved hearing that. However, she mentioned that she already had business to attend to at his camp anyway, so he should not mind her presence. But as she said that, Bell suddenly became nervous. Seeing her reaction, Ed immediately noticed something was wrong. Bell then revealed that she had planned to clean the villa today because its owner would be returning to school tomorrow. The next morning, the scene shifted to Ed's camp where Lortel arrived to meet him after hearing from Bell about the camp's expansion plans. Ed explained that he wanted to improve the place and planned to build a second floor. Lortel quickly understood his intention and realized that he was planning to create a personal workspace on the upper floor.
Ed admitted that she was sharp for figuring it out so easily. Hearing this, Lortel casually suggested adding her own room there as well. Ed immediately looked toward her before pulling out a small pouch from his bag. He explained that he intended to build the structure himself, but he would need help along with construction materials. At the same time, he clarified that he was not asking for assistance for free. The funds he had left over from securing the top spot that year would be used to expand the camp. Lortell found his attitude surprising. She admitted that she never expected him to pay up so easily and had assumed he would try saving every bit of money possible. Ed, however, felt that he constantly ended up indebted to her. Because of that, he wanted to do whatever he could in return. But Lortell revealed that she had no intention of taking his money. Ed became visibly confused by her response.
Lortell then explained that she intended to leave it as a debt within their relationship instead. As long as she continued helping him, the debt would remain inside his heart. To her, that emotional debt was far more valuable.
After all, people naturally preferred investing in things with greater value.
As the conversation continued, Ed asked whether something had happened in Old Deck. Lortell revealed that the Merchant Union had fallen into complete chaos after her return. There had been embezzlement, information leaks, damaged goods, and even double agents. Because of all that, she had spent most of her time handling the mess. Ed understood how busy she must have been. Still, Lortell treated it like nothing unusual.
To her, that was simply how things normally were. Nothing in Old Deck had changed. If there was one thing that had changed, it was herself. Perhaps it was because she had spent time attending the academy, or perhaps it was because she had met a certain someone. Before the atmosphere could grow heavier, Lortell suddenly realized something important.
Once construction on Ed's cabin started, he would no longer have a place to sleep. Ed admitted that she was right and acknowledged that he would need to figure that out as well. Lortell immediately pointed out that her villa was right nearby, making things much simpler. Even after suggesting it so directly, she noticed that Ed still did not become flustered. Ed finally asked why she had been acting like that since earlier. Lortell smiled softly and admitted that she simply wanted to see him get embarrassed. Ed then wondered what she would do if he actually agreed to her suggestion. But Lortell confidently stated that she already knew he had no intention of saying yes. Ed continued pushing the idea by asking what if he really did agree. Lortel casually brushed it off, yet in the next moment, she quietly began imagining the situation in her head. She pictured the entire construction period with Ed sleeping on the floor while she rested on the bed nearby. In her imagination, Ed complained about the cold weather during the night. At that moment, Lortel imagined herself moving aside her blanket and inviting him closer. But suddenly, the scene snapped back to reality when Janica arrived and mentioned that Lortel was there. The unexpected interruption immediately brought Lortel back to her senses. As she looked ahead, she saw Janica shyly sitting down beside Ed. Both Ed and Janica awkwardly avoided each other's gaze while blushing slightly. Seeing that strange atmosphere between them left Lortel completely stunned. She could only wonder what exactly was going on between the two of them. As the story continued, Ed began reflecting on the terrifying existence of the Holy Lands Dragon, Welbrok. Sealed long ago by the first sword master, Luden McLore, the legendary dragon had remained hidden from the world for ages. Known as the dragon that devours gods, Welbrok had repeatedly attempted to incinerate the world during the Age of the Gods. In the end, heroes managed to defeat it and the creature slowly became nothing more than a tale recorded in history books. Over time, even the generation that still remembered the dragon had disappeared.
However, Ed had personally witnessed its overwhelming power. Even Lucy had barely managed to defend herself against its attacks. Meanwhile, Obel Forcius, the guardian of the capital, had also failed to find any way to defeat it. Whether based on his own experiences or the lore from the original game, Ed reached one conclusion. To be completely honest, he could not win against it. The only person capable of cutting through Welbrok's scales and piercing its heart was Taely McLore. That power came from the very swordsmanship created by Luden McLore himself, the man who sealed the Holy Lance Dragon centuries ago. Because Taley had inherited that swordsmanship, only he could save the world from Welbroke. The more Ed thought about it, the more unnatural everything felt. It almost seemed as if the entire world itself had agreed to turn Taley into a hero. Back in the first act, Taley had only recently begun using a sword, yet he still managed to defeat the highest-ranked spirit of darkness and master elemental slash. Then during the second act, while trying to save Ela from Professor Glast, the situation became even stranger. Normally, reaching that point required raising one's level significantly. Due to multiple complications, Taley had not even gained all the required experience. Still, he somehow managed to defeat the golem summoned by Professor Glast without much issue. But the real problem started afterward. The boss of the third act, awakened Lucy, had completely disappeared from the scenario.
Meanwhile, the boss of the fourth act, Krepin Roth Taylor, had already died by Ed's own hands. Even so, Ed knew he could not simply ignore everything. In the original story, the Holy Lance Dragon Welbroke descended one semester before the protagonist's generation graduated. That should have given him around 2 years to prepare. However, the current world had already become far too unpredictable. Ed had realized that making assumptions based on the game's timeline was meaningless. Until now, major boss fights had already started occurring months earlier than expected.
Some events had even happened half a year ahead of schedule. As time passed, the pace of events continued accelerating far beyond the original game. While thinking about all of this, the scene smoothly shifted to a cafe where Ed had arrived to meet Ela. Ela seemed surprised by the sudden meeting.
She never expected Ed to personally ask to see her. Ed understood very well that neither Ela nor Taley liked him very much. Because of that, he decided to get straight to to point. Without hesitation, Ed revealed that he planned to kidnap her. And with that shocking declaration, the scene came to an end.
The story is only getting more intense from here, and the upcoming events are going to change everything. If you enjoyed this video, make sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more amazing recaps and future updates.
