Parents are commanded by God to continuously teach their children about His commandments and word of God through daily conversations, prayer, and example, as this teaching extends blessings to multiple generations; parents must set positive examples in work ethic, marriage relationships, and spiritual life while never stopping to pray for their children, especially those with the most potential who are often targeted by the devil.

We will always talk about how we can command our morning.
The book of Job talked about have you commanded your morning?
And that's something you can do with take control through the blood of Jesus of your day.
Every day. And one of the things we do is to give God praise and tell him thank you.
>> [snorts] >> Thank you so much for joining us. I'm Pastor Andre Money of World Overcomers.
My beautiful wife who had a beautiful Mother's Day. Thanks to each and every one of you who were able to come and be a part of it this past Sunday. Those of you who are online watching and those of you who sowed into a life we said thank you, thank you, thank you. Here's that beautiful lady right now with that pretty smile.
You look good.
I mean you really look good.
Come on with the come on then Lord.
You've been good to me. Did I tell you God's been good to me? Listen. Um I know you want to tell them so go ahead. You tell them thanks.
>> Yes, thank you all so much for all you all who sent prayers, kind words, gifts, monetary gifts, everything. You guys I just want to say thank you.
I mean I did not expect it. And [gasps] I just pray a thousandfold return for everyone who sowed in any kind of way.
Well I could say whether it was a prayer, a kind word, um a hug, just everything you all did. I really truly appreciate you all. It is a blessing and an honor to serve you all. Amen. Thank you. I've said it before.
Um people who want to bless me, I say thank you.
But when you bless my wife, she plays such a quiet role to so many of you.
You just don't know what she does to help this man, help this pastor.
Um from picking out clothes to give me inspiration to being the best mom in the world to our children. Uh we were able to show a video of our three boys and our soon-to-be daughter-in-law. And they talked about, even referred to her as a superwoman, because you are. You're a hero. You are. Uh just incredible what she does to keep this house a home. And I say thank you so much for all that you do. And for everyone who sowed into her life, I mean, when she said we pray a thousandfold blessing, a ministry we have, and you'll see it sometimes, called 111 Ministries. It's taken from Deuteronomy 1:11, that talks about how I pray a thousandfold return.
And I pray that over each and every one of you, whether you gave something monetarily or whether you gave your prayer, you gave your time by showing up for service this past Sunday, which was incredible. To all the moms, we say we pray that you had a blessed and beautiful Mother's Day, and um you're enjoying this this week. You're enjoying this week. [clears throat] Hey, real quick, before we get to our conversation, our study tonight, I want to let everyone know, coming up in the month of June, we're calling it Connection Month.
Connection Month.
It is a chance for you to connect with different ministries, connect with different people. We're going to get into all that. But the entire month is our plus one.
When you get invited to a big event or a special event, they'll always say you to pre-register or RSVP, and you can have to put plus one, let them know you're bringing somebody. We want you to do your plus one. Each Sunday during the month of June, bring somebody. Two, three people if you want to. Bring a whole family. We all have people that we know who stay on our street, stay next door, work at the place of business with us.
People we know from school. You going to your class reunions and people you know who don't know the Lord and need to get to know him in an intimate way. People in your own family.
Maybe even people in your own home.
>> Exactly.
Bring them to church.
Let's start evangelizing. Let's start discipling. That's a form of discipleship. When people hear the word discipleship, some people don't know what it is. It's just telling somebody else about God.
>> That's it. And inviting them to get to know him. And we invite you to get to We asking you to invite them to even come to church. 6655 Winchester at Kirby Parkway every Sunday morning starting at 10:30 we have service. And those of you who are watching now, members, non-members, whatever, come. Yes. Come. You can come this Sunday. But during the month of June is our connection month and we're doing our plus one. I want you to be a part of it. Let's get back into talking about relationships and marriage. We've been talking about it for several weeks now. I wanted to see if we were going to move to something else, but with all the emails, there's no way I can answer all those emails. But I found something tonight that had to do with a lot of the emails we were we have been receiving. And it's dealing with raising our children in relationships in the marriage.
Whether the children are not biologically yours because they become your children because of marriage or the two you have children while you're married. Mhm. Uh had children before you got married together, but now you're married or but raising children.
Right. What does the Bible say? Not Wendy, not Andre. What does the Bible say when it comes to us being parents?
And we talked a lot about that this past Sunday uh we're honoring moms. And what does the Bible say? And one of the emails I received that I want to hit on real quickly then we're going to get into some other things about raising children. A gentleman who I've heard stories like this but just never experienced it uh from somebody that I know where he has been the father for this child for the last 13 years. Um when he and the lady got together, the child was three or four years old. So the only real father that she's known has been him.
When I say the only one, we're talking about the dad wasn't just every now and then. The biological dad wasn't in existence.
Wasn't around at all.
Um this young lady has excelled and she's graduating one of the top two or three in her class. She'll be speaking at the graduation all this. And then because graduations getting so big, they give you all a certain amount of tickets. So it's one of those stories sound like a hot one of those uh lifetime movies.
Because he has been asked to relinquish his ticket so the biological father can come.
And he is tore up from the floor up.
He's mad but he's more hurt than anything.
Because I was the one that was always there.
Um how do you deal with that because yes, she may the child may want her biological father there but the man [clears throat] who's been there putting a roof over her head, putting food in her stomach, putting clothes on her back, now he's feeling hurt because he's saying I get pushed to the side?
And I think also cuz you mentioned this email, with it wasn't the child that requested the biological father.
>> It was the mom.
>> the mom.
And you know, as we would always want your child to know, you know, biological parents as well as the blended family, we're never going to leave that parent out. I think the timing of introducing that parent, um Um, you know, if it's going to be at the cost of the father who's been there doing everything for the child, I wouldn't have done I wouldn't do it right now. You know, you want the you know, I would say, "Hey, maybe y'all are going to have a grad cuz I do all these graduation parties after the big event."
He can come to that. Invite him to the graduation party after. But, as it relates to the actual graduation, there's no way you want to leave out the man that has been there and you know, and fulfill the role. a role cuz roles are something you just you audition for.
He's he's decided to take up that that calling to be that child's father. So, you don't ever want to negate that. You know, that child I would you know, when they think about that you said 13 years, that child has no memory probably of that biological parent. So, it's not like they're saying, "Oh, I remember this dad. I I really want him to be there to see me."
Um, but I definitely if there was some kind of way that you could get an extra ticket, that's the only way I would say >> Or have somebody else that was sitting to you. Yeah. He shouldn't have to give up his.
>> no, no. Or or Julie may have to give up hers. Right, right. Somebody else, but not him.
>> The immediate family will go, but you know, I I definitely would not leave out the man who's done everything for the child. I agree with you.
Uh, and I pray that it helped you a lot, brother, because uh, according to the message, uh, there were some plans for some extra uh, activities that were supposed to take place celebrating and he was footing the bill for all of this.
Yeah. And now he's to the point to where he said, uh, he's looked at as a villain because he scrapped all that. You know, he said, "No, I'm not paying for anything. No uh, they were going to have a limo, uh, they were going to have an after party, a DJ, uh, even some local artists was coming to perform." He was paying for all of this.
And you know, I'll say >> And he said he scrapped it all. And I'll say one more thing to the mom, you know, pray about that decision. You know, if if it's too late to undo it, you know, I guess it is what it is, but you really got to start valuing that person in your life. You know, we see it all the time where men don't step up to the plate and they don't do things. Here it is, God has blessed you with someone who's willing to act as the biological parent, you know, fulfill that role. Yeah. Yeah.
>> Don't. That's a gift. That's a blessing.
I mean, that is something that it's probably women who will line up for that for their child. So, you know, just all emotions, take the emotions out of it and sit back and say, "Okay, Lord, you know, I got to recognize my blessing." Yeah.
That's good. That's good. Well, as we talk about raising the children, the Bible has several uh different scriptures where we learn about raising the children.
Um when it comes to children, we have to set the example.
Um that mom in that situation should have set the example for the daughter to say, "This is the person who's been raising you. This is the person who's been here. There's no way I'm going to get this biological to come in and take a space Right. uh what who the person has been." Uh Jesus said on the cross, "Who is my family?"
You know, because you have to understand who's been there. Right. Who's truly been there? There's some people that you will have in your life that may be closer to you than those people who you have blood connection with. That's true.
I have people in the church right now.
Um I could name several of them, you know, uh that I'm so close with.
They are closer to me than a lot of my blood related cousins.
You know, because they bonded with me that way. We've gone through so much together. I have some guys in the church who I would sit down and feel comfortable with them coming to my house and eating Right.
when there are people in my family I wouldn't feel that comfortable with. And that's just being real, okay? So, when it comes to raising our children, we set the example. And God is expecting us to show them, train them. We all know the verse that says, "Train up a child in the way they should go, so when they're old, they won't depart from it."
So, I know my mom prayed for me on that.
And even though I went through a period of time in life in my 20s where uh I mentioned this this past Sunday, I was DJing all the clubs, from the Shiraz, the Printers on the Hills, the Club No Names, Rob's, all this stuff. My mom was still praying for me. And she would say, "Baby, I'm still praying for you." And [laughter] she prayed for me.
And when other people were getting shot in the club, getting robbed, uh even a couple One DJ I know who we even had to go to his funeral.
Uh things of that nature happened.
I never experienced any of that. That covering. I was doing the same things they were doing, smoking, drinking, all the stuff they were doing, but there was a covering. That's when we say, "Don't ever stop praying for your children."
Right.
Don't ever stop praying for your children. Don't care how bad it looks, how bad it gets, turn them over to the Lord, but don't you stop praying for your children. That's it. Pray for that child that seems to be the one that A lot of times the devil goes after the one that has the most promise on them. He does. Now, that is the truth. The one that you think is what you call the the worst, the the baddest, or whatever, that's the one that's got the calling on them.
And that's the one that the devil is trying to mess with the most cuz he knows, he can see, he can feel that there's a great calling on that person's life. I got to get them to the point where nobody's going to listen to them.
I got to mess up their life. I got to put some bad stuff on them so people won't even think they have any sense of relationship with God. This is what the Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy. I was reading this this morning. I mentioned to you I want to make sure that I read this today while we're in the Bible. If you don't mind, read Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 6. What verse is that? Deuteronomy chapter 6.
>> get my assistant?
>> Yeah, I want you to get your glasses and you read it for for from in there.
Chapter 6, verse 6. All right. These commandments that I give you today I tell you what, go back to five so we can see the commandments we're talking about. Okay. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
>> I've heard that said before.
Love the Lord with all your heart, your mind, your soul. I've heard that said before, but look what comes right after it.
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children.
>> Wow. Hold on. God's saying these what?
Commandments.
>> Commandments. God's saying this is not a request.
This is not like me asking, I'm commanding you.
That you inform your children of this.
>> [snorts] >> Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home.
Oh, so you want I'm sitting around the house I'm supposed to be teaching my kids this.
And when you walk along the road.
When you lie down and when you get up.
>> Look at that. So God is saying continuously we're supposed to impress these things upon our children.
One way of raising our children is to teach them about the word of God, the commandments of God, the things that God says he loves and the things God doesn't love. We're supposed to hate what God hates, which is sin, and love the thing God loves, forgiveness, long-suffering, uh uh togetherness, unity. God is saying as parents more than buying them toys and video games and all this good stuff, we're supposed to be imparting upon them the word of God.
God holds us responsible for that. Yes.
And he's saying, you know, when I look at this pastor, you he's saying talk about it all the time.
>> All the time.
>> You know, when you're talking with your children for dinner, when you're getting ready for school, when you're on the way to school. There you go.
>> You know, pray with them in the car.
Talk to them. Ask them do they have any prayer needs while you're on the way to school.
>> That's good.
>> You know, because it could be some things going on that they're like, "You know what, mama, I need you to pray for me about this." You know, um I remember in school I used to pray before I even took a test. Mhm. And I would tell y'all I always did better after I prayed. So, I you know, even now with our children we homeschool and they do their test, I tell my son, "Pray. Pray to God will help you remember the information that you studied before your test." You know, those are things you can kind of incorporate them. You know, have them You know, we always Pastor Mason before about how we pray with them at night.
But having them bless their food during the day. You know, those type of things.
What you will notice is that kids will pick up on that. Mhm. And you know, we've heard our middle child say a few scriptures and you know, even he's like, "All right, y'all." You know, we're like, "Did he just give me the scripture back?" He will. So, do it all the time.
Incorporate it into everything. You read so well. Mhm. Stay in the book of Deuteronomy for a minute and go over to chapter 11 and it's really verse 19, but I want you to start up at 12. Okay. And we're reading out of the NIV because I want to go up to 12. Um well, 13. 13. Start at 13 because I really want you to get an understanding of what all 19 is composing and what it's talking about.
>> So, Deuteronomy Deuteronomy chapter 11, starting at verse 13.
>> All right.
So, if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today Mhm. to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and oil. Now, God is saying right there we we you know, he's paraphrasing cuz he loves using the architectural agricultural type of metaphors and things. But what God is saying to us is if you listen to my commandments, I'm going to have rain. In other words, I'm going to give you the resources you need.
I'm going to supply you what you need so that you can prosper. Rain causes the ground to get saturated and what's in the ground to prosper, to grow, to bloom. So God said if you obey my commandments, I'm going to cause the things around you to bloom.
Your health will bloom. The love in your house will bloom. Your finances will bloom.
You hear me? Go ahead.
>> Yes.
Verse 15, "I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied."
>> Amen.
Verse 16, "Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods." Wow.
>> "And bow down to them.
Then the Lord's anger will burn against you." Mhm. "And he will shut the heavens so that it will not rain, and the ground will yield no produce."
>> So God is saying don't mess up.
Don't mess around and start serving other gods. The first commandment he gave you was you should you should have no other gods before me. He's serious about that. He's very serious about that. So God is saying you're supposed to teach this, you're supposed to learn this, you're supposed to get this inside of you. I'm going to bless you, I'm going to give you what you need, you're going to prosper, you're going to bloom, but don't mess up. Go ahead. "And you will soon perish from the good land the Lord is giving you." Mhm. "Verse 18, fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds. Mhm. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your forehead."
>> Yeah.
"19, teach them to your children."
>> Wow, hold on. So all that he just went over Mhm.
about being a blessing and learning how to worship him and put him uh first and everything he's saying now once you got it you don't stop there.
Now I need you to teach these here to Hold on. The word said teach. It didn't say just say it to your children. To teach means I got to repeat it.
I got to get it ingrained. I got to say it again. I got to say it again. I got to give examples of it. I got to keep talking about it. I got to keep bringing it up cuz I'm teaching you something.
I'm constantly going over it. I'm not going to say it one time. That's not teaching. That's speaking it. But I got to say it. I got to teach it. I got to get it in there.
I got to keep going over it till my children will get it.
That's what he's saying. Teach your children. What does it again? Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home Mhm. and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Mhm. So, that's the same thing he said in six.
>> Mhm.
Is he saying anything else? Read read just one one one more verse. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to give you to give your forefathers as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. God is saying that this is not only going to bless you.
Not only is it going to bless your children, it will bless your children's children. That's that second, that third generation. Right. This is huge when it comes to raising children. I can talk to you about, yeah, make sure they go to school, make sure they say, "Yes, ma'am.
No, ma'am." All that comes along when they have the spirit of God within them.
Spirit of God pushes you to a spirit of excellence.
You know the Bible talks about Daniel.
Right. We know so much about him being in the lion's den. But if you read the beginning of Daniel, the best way to explain it would be in today's society, it'll be as though you have three or four different presidents.
Republican, you could have Obama followed by Trump followed by Biden followed by another Trump. You could have Republicans and Democrats who disagree and can't stand each other.
But what if they said, "Oh, we all going to use the same guy to be our vice president."
>> Mhm.
Can you understand how big that would be? That's pretty much what happened with Daniel. The Bible said they loved and trusted and endured him to be second in command. Watch this. Not because the Bible said he was the greatest preacher, the greatest evangelist. The Bible said because he had a spirit of excellence.
>> Right. Everything he did, he wanted to make sure he did his best at it.
He could be trusted. That's what we need to be teaching our children.
To grow up and they need to see us doing that.
>> Exactly. Your children need to see you getting up, fathers, and going to work.
They need to see you not laying on the sofa all day, every day, playing video games. Get up. Go put your hands to something. Your child needs to know, my daddy go to work. Right. Even if it's going to work at a fast food place in the daytime and another fast food place at night, but he's seeing his daddy get up and make some money and doing something to help.
>> That's right. God can bless you, man, when he see you putting your You got to give him something to bless. That's right. I can't sit in the house and say, "All right, Lord, I ain't doing nothing.
I just want you to drop some money on me now." Give him something to bless.
>> Right. Right. Give him something to bless.
And even mothers, you know, your children, let them see you praying. Let them see you covering the family. You know, you've got young women in your house, you know, we have three boys in our house, but if you got daughters in the house, let them see you dressing modestly, okay? Let them see you speaking, you know, according to the word. Let them see you watching things on TV that, you know, we're not saying you got to always watch all types of church programs all the time, but I know I was telling Pastor, some of these shows that are on now have so much stuff in it that our children don't need to be seeing or hearing. Some of the songs you're listening to, you're in the car, you know, you're listening to different music. Let that be some music that's going to glorify them. Sometimes, you know, we're talking about on the way to school, asking them if they got any prayer needs, put some prayer music on, put some worship music on in the car.
Set the atmosphere, cover them, you know, because your children are going out here now. They are coming against a whole lot more than what we had to deal with it when we were younger. So, you know, set them up, you know, be that wife to your husband. Be there to to see let your children see you praying and hugging and and and and praying for the husband and and being a help to him. And kissing. And kissing.
They need to see the affection between because they see so many people who are not married, so many people who are in a whole bunch of debauchery, if I can say that, a bunch of fornication. They see them doing that.
Yeah. They need to see mama and daddy hug sometimes. Yeah. Let [clears throat] them. Not just always arguing, not always just talking about being Let them see you dancing in the house sometimes.
Let them see you hold hands sometimes.
Even in the car. We drove a whole your wife's hands. Your children in the backseat, They watching that. They watching. That daughter is saying, "Oh, when I get my man, he's going to hold my hand like this." That son is saying, "Oh, when I find that wife, I'm going [clears throat] to hold her hand the way daddy They're watching. You are their example. That's it. Show them that.
That's raising your children. And watch what else it does.
We just talked about how the Bible said it goes to the next and the next generation, right? Here in the book of Psalms, the book of Psalm chapter 38 verse five.
Verse five, you can read down to read five, six, and seven.
So, 78 Psalm 78 78, start at verse five.
Read down to verse seven. Five, six, and seven. All right.
In the book of Psalm chapter 38, listen what it says. And we are reading out the NIV.
All right. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established a law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children. So, they >> the law was commanded to be taught to our children. Again, talking to us See, we get we we can do this for a couple of days talking about ways to raise our children, but the basis the first thing is teaching them about God.
So, the next generation would know them.
>> There you go. God wants to make sure this next generation knows the laws the commandments of God. Even the children yet to be born.
That means even the ones that are yet to be born.
>> pregnant?
>> While the ones that even in your womb you can be singing a song of Amazing Grace while that child is still in your womb. Yeah.
Wow. And they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds, but would keep his commands.
>> Look at that. That's what God is asking.
That's his request. That's his command.
Not request, his command. Mhm. As parents we are to teach our children Right. about God.
When they learn it, they now would pass it on to their generation. So, now we on the third gen it's you, your children, and now we going to hit the third generation and we're all growing about the knowledge and the wisdom and the commands of God.
>> Yes. And then our family line is blessed. Yes. That whole entire family line is blessed. You see that? That's how important it is for us to teach our children. The Bible just said when we're reading about it and it's about time for us to wrap it up, but listen, the Bible talked about when first read it in Deuteronomy in two different times in verse in chapter 6 and in chapter 7.
Mhm. How God says from the moment you rise to you lay down.
While you're sitting in the house.
While you're eating at the table. While you're going around, God says be teaching them. Right.
Stop listening all the time to the radio. Talk to your kids while you're in the car. Yeah. Sometimes while you're in the car get off that phone Right.
and talk to your kids. Mhm. Talk to your next generation.
My great-granddaddy, Daddy Mo, God bless, was born in 1901.
That's the man that raised me up. When I say old school, old school. He had dropped out of school in the second grade. Didn't learn to sign his name.
Didn't learn to write not very well cuz he had gone in the field and work cuz his daddy died.
But one thing that daddy did, and I didn't understand it then, but reading this I understand it now.
I've told you before, when we rode down them back roads out in Fayette County, we had a straight shot that could take us uptown, going down this highway called Highway 64. But we used to go down this little back road past Chapel and go all the way back all through the back way and hit all these I'm like, "Why are we going the long way?" We would go and I would hear the stories over and over. "Boy, I used to pick cotton over here. Boy, I used to run a mule down this little road over here.
God sure is good. Boy, we had a little shack of a house over there. It was held up by some sticks, but the wind blew, but our house never blew down. God sure been good to me." He was remembering, but at the same time showing me, "Thank you, Lord." Teaching us. Like I said, teaching us about how good God is.
Teaching us about how good Now we in a house with a roof over the top, with a freezer and a refrigerator full of food, but he's telling us about how they used to have a smokehouse in the back, how they ate all their food from the garden.
The only time they got a bunch of meat was when it would be Thanksgiving or or Christmas when somebody would kill a pig or a cow. They stayed on somebody else's land called sharecropping.
Man, I understand now why he wanted to take us down them back roads. So he himself could remember how good God is.
And also start teaching us how good God is. My daddy, right today, you don't be around my daddy longer than 5 minutes before he going to say, "If you don't know him, get to know him.
>> Yes, you will.
>> Won't he say that? That's his [laughter] little favorite word. My dad and hard money will save you. If you don't know him, get to know him. And once you get to know him, do the things that make him happy. Do the things that pleases him.
>> My dad is 85 and he is a strong, strong believer in the word of God and he teaches me and my brother all the time and anybody else who comes in in contact with him about God's goodness and God's commands. Yes, he does. Parents, we're going to talk more as we go further into this cuz this is something I really believe. Those who are planning on marriage, we got to talk about the ways to raise our children. You got to be on one accord. I know people who are getting married and this person over here isn't really in the same faith you're in. We got to talk about that.
Can that work? How can two walk together unless they're in agreement? We can talk about that. Uh what if this person here desires children, but I don't desire children. There's so much dealing with raising children we got to get into, but the foundation that he and we want to talk about was got to teach them the word of God. First, you learn. Right.
Come to church. Come on over here to World Overcomers. Those who are watching, we invite you to invite other people. Not saying we're the only church in the earth that teaches the word of God, but I know our hearts are fixed on making sure that we celebrate.
Cuz that's what we doing. We're celebrating God.
In our praise and our worship and our teaching, we're celebrating God.
Learn it first yourself. Yeah. As it says, counter it on your head and wear it around you.
>> Yeah, put it on your doorpost.
>> On your doorpost and then teach your children.
>> Teach your children. And they'll teach it to their children. That's it. Join us for service this and every Sunday morning. 10:30 a.m. is when service start with praise and worship. We invite you to be a part of it every single Sunday morning. If you need somebody to pray with you, we got people who are right now waiting for you to just to hit some, you know, say, "Hey, pray with me." And there are people there who will be more than happy to pray with you. Uh if you decide to give, there's is ground, you can do that. We have that up here, Pushpay, PayPal, all that good stuff. But more than anything, we want you to be blessed. We want you to be able to celebrate God, and let's train our next generation, teach them.
>> Yes. And watch what God's going to do.
We're going to talk more about this next week. I know you got to get ready to do the thing. Thank you so much. I got three kisses on one show. It's all right here. I'm going for it.
That's all right there. Got a little lipstick on my lips, but we know where it came from. All right there, watch that. God bless each and every one of you. Thank you for joining us. God is so good. We want you to come celebrate the Lord with us this Sunday morning, 10:30 a.m. at 6655 Winchester Road at Kirby Parkway, World Overcomers. God bless you.
