Flash flood warnings require residents to stay indoors and avoid roads, especially during nighttime, as heavy rainfall from prolonged storms riding up mountains can cause rapid flooding with imminent damage potential; the National Weather Service issues these warnings when moisture-laden air systems lift over mountainous terrain, creating dangerous conditions that persist until the warning period expires.

Flash flood warnings in effect with concerns lasting past midnightAdded:
And as we continue to monitor this flash flood warning uh for Henderson County, North Carolina, now getting uh some reports that officials uh near Gerton, which is right here. I couldn't get the label to pop up, but it's right here along 74 in North Carolina in Henderson County, uh telling people to stay indoors, avoid the roads as there is some flooding and some damage out there.
So, again, too, with it being nighttime, you want to stay off the roads. Take what the officials are saying seriously for those of you in Henderson County.
That flash flood warning is until 12:15 going into tomorrow morning. Also have a flash flood warning for Transylvania County, uh but there is a considerable tag on this one here in Henderson County. Uh the National Weather Service adding that there, meaning that damage it uh from the flash flooding is imminent for some locations. And again, getting reports of water rescues and issues with the roads there in Henderson County. So, let me show you why this is happening. Again, just hours upon hours of these showers and storms riding up those mountains, and it just brings in a ton of rain. We have a lot of moisture to the south, and that lifting up the mountains in the higher elevations just brought brought it down in buckets there, and that's why we're seeing this flash flood warnings. For those of us here in Greenville, certainly to taper off. Still some steady showers near Easley and Clemson. Heading further north though to those areas that do have the flash flood warnings, another half an inch to an inch is possible this evening. So, future track, here's what it looks like the rest of the night as that continues to lift north. 1:00 a.m.
should start to taper off with their showers and storms to those areas in the flood uh area that we're watching at this point with the flash flood warnings. By tomorrow, breaks of sunshine are possible, but then we do it all again. Pop-up showers and storms driven from the heating of the day. It's going to be very humid out there the next couple of days across the upstate.
We're tracking the 80s into Wednesday.
Going to feel even warmer potentially with that humidity. Chance of pop-up showers and storms continues from Tuesday into Wednesday, Thursday as well, when that heat begins to peak up into the mountains. Same deal unsettled all the way through the weekend. The pattern will start to break by next week.
