Rivian’s massive camera array shows impressive hardware ambition, but sensory redundancy is meaningless without the algorithmic maturity to process it. It remains to be seen if this is a leap toward true autonomy or just an over-engineered solution to a software-first problem.

Rivian R2 Has 6 Cameras on the Mirrors Alone! Ready for Full Autonomous?
Added:Hey everyone, how's it going? Inside the R2, the Rivian R2 just released last week.
And I have to say, it feels amazing. The steering wheel feels absolutely premium for a R2, for a $50,000 vehicle. Check out the clarity of this camera.
Front camera as well, as well as fish eye camera.
And side fender camera.
And when you turn on the signal, I have to put it in drive.
It automatically um opened up the camera on here as well, and you can obviously turn it on here on the display.
So, you do have a instrument cluster.
You do have uh the center entertainment center uh display, and the options are fairly easy. Here's your car control.
So, your drive mode.
Let's see here. Where is your drive mode? There's your drive mode.
Nope, that's not it.
It's your radio.
Where's your drive mode?
So, we have navigation, music, audio, media.
Here's your vehicle information.
And did you Here's your drive mode right here. So, all purpose, sport, conserve, and snow.
And then, any of these settings you can also manually change the drive feel. So, it does have adaptive suspension, regen, high, standard, or low, stability reduce, on.
Just reduce and on. So, they don't have off yet. I think there's a setting that you can turn off.
I wonder if can turn it off under sport.
Nope, not yet.
Pretty cool animation there.
You have seat heaters, seat ventilation.
Heated steering wheel, as well.
Right there.
Climate control, everything you need.
And of course, connectivity, settings, everything you would find in a R1S, R1T.
So, rear seat looks pretty good. No rear screen, just two vents.
Heated seats and two USB-C. You have wireless charger here, key card to get in and out, but you can use your phone key, as well.
Digital touch to get out and in. You do have your auto down for all windows, including the rear windows.
And then, auto up for all windows, too.
Full glass doesn't feel hot inside the vehicle.
Sun shade, vanity mirror with lights.
And yes, this does slide out.
Touch lights for maps, SOS.
You have I think two modes there, hazard light, and then this is your rear window, all five windows.
Glove box, I believe you have two.
One, two, two glove boxes.
And lots of storage here. Pull up cubby here.
Armrest with two USB-C in there.
Air vents. Everything is digital.
Where's the front vent?
So, you can control the heated seat in the back, too.
Here we go.
See there.
Adjust the vent. You can do it for your passenger, too.
Pretty easy.
Say preset. Say preset.
And to get out the vehicle, press on this.
Auto up and down for all windows.
I think there's a manual lever somewhere in there.
Storage.
So, overall, Rivian logo emboldened in the seats there.
To lock the door, you do have this auto open and close door handle.
Tow hook in the front.
Four miscaliper in yellow.
Got to roll this window up.
So to roll up, you got to There you go. It's rolling up.
Key.
So check this out.
Windshield wiper. I have to control front and back as well. Let's clean the back [clears throat] ones.
Lock it.
So I just cleaned this small section here. There was no water.
Yeah, the overall Arctic charge port.
This is manual open and manual close.
There's a spider here.
Living wet free.
So these are uh upgraded uh BFGoodrich wheels. These are smaller wheels. This other one have the performance ones.
This is the performance wheels.
Still have sensors in the front there.
Signal indicator built into the Rivian logo.
Camera, camera.
I think there's another camera here. So, three cameras just on the mirror housing. It's going to be a fortune if you break that mirror.
And the air vents.
Air flow flowing down.
Camera back there.
And then I think you have three two or three camera in the visor, too.
And the windshield wiper is hidden behind the actual hood line there.
So, you're interested in this? Check it out.
And test drive one today.
