Millions of red crabs migrate across Christmas Island every year in one of the largest animal migrations on Earth, and to protect them from being hit by vehicles, local residents and authorities have created special tunnels, bridges, and even modified car wheels with plates that gently push the crabs safely across roads without harming them.
