[00:00:00]Hello Riley besties. Welcome back to my channel. I hope you're well. Today is just an announcement and a very exciting one at that. I'm just going to go out and say it and it's the fact that I am now an agented writer. I have a literary agent which is crazy to say like crazy.

[00:00:21]I I literally like I don't know how to like frame this video. If you guys don't know me, um, I am, my name's Anna, obviously, and I have a dream to be a traditionally published author. I've been working on this novel called Project BB. Kind of stands for Project Blackbirds, one of the old titles of the draft. And I worked on it really, really hard last year. And I managed to even create a documentary of me writing the book start to finish. And that's actually one of my most popular videos on this channel. Anyways, I finished drafting um I think the fourth draft. I [music] think I need to get a timeline up right now. I finished around the end of February, which was around my birthday. And um I decided I really wanted to query and just like get into the query trenches. If you guys don't know, the quering trenches is basically where you call query agents and hope that one of them gets back to you. It's quite a grueling process of just waiting and waiting and waiting and despite that I was extremely excited to query um thinking it won't affect me like it did last time I queried which is a whole separate topic but I have been in the quering trenches before albeit I felt a lot more equipped this time and a little bit more strategic so I started my first query it says here on the 25th of February 2020 26 and I got a offer 2nd of the 4th 2026.

[00:01:56]So I was quing for like over a month which is quite quick of a turnaround. Um but yeah, I might make a separate video entirely talking about my process, my approach to um literary querying. And I do have like a whole bunch of like things that I learned throughout the process that I was popping in my diary.

[00:02:15]And I have like a whole list of just like so many mistakes I made, so many things I learned. And I am really excited to impart that advice if you guys want it. So request in the comments if you guys want a separate like how my process was and everything and also my tips and like what my career letter looked like and everything like that.

[00:02:32]Um, and just like how I found the process. This is more of a general video, just like a fun announcement cuz guys, guys, I have an agent that doesn't feel real to say. I just want to thank all of you guys for your support and I know this announcement might come out really like quickly because I've been quering in the background. I did mention in a couple of my videos and over my Instagram I've been doing a lot more frequent update.

So if you guys want have the first inside scoop of like my updates definitely follow me on Instagram. However, I just wanted this video to kind of be just like thank you guys. Um, and also I can't believe it because this book like means so so much to me. If you guys don't know much about Project BB, it was a novel that I technically started this writing channel with. I started sharing my writing content through this book. Um, and it's just like a full circle moment that this could be the book I'm going to be debuting with. and it just felt like the book that I felt comfortable and I felt confident enough in in my own skill set at this time. The concepts, the ideas, the sort of genre was definitely something I hoped and that hope came true. Um, I hoped a literary agent might adore. And the novel I've been kind of thinking about and like pitching as a sort of Robin Hood retelling that meets magic, but it also has lots of fairy tale elements. It's very character and plot driven. Has heists, has romance, bull scenes, knife to throat scenes.

[00:04:10]Even though I'm not really a big fan of enemies to lovers, this story has a little bit of that, but more like hesitant allies to lovers where the thief needs to steal the prince and they grudgingly have to work together. By the way, the prince Loki is like in love with her and she isn't really in love with him. So, it's kind of like that sort of dynamic which I'm obsessed with.

[00:04:28]It's a bit like a Katniss Peter vibe and I love that so much. However, who am I represented by? I am represented by the amazing Curtis Bar Literary Agency, one of honestly my dream agencies. I remember like putting it in my list. I'm like, there's no way I'm probably going to get a reply from these people. And they replied and my agent um she like requested the manuscript. I think like barely what was it? I have the stats here. It was literally so crazy to me.

[00:05:00]Yeah. 2 days after I sent the query, she requested a full and I think by the end of that day, like I think she requested the full at 12:00 and then by the end of the day, like around 4:00, she like wanted to have a call with me. Um, and that was amazing. Amazing. Like crazy.

[00:05:19]Like I it just worked and you know, happened so fast. So, I'm very excited to be um yeah, officially represented by Curtis Brown um the Australian agency, the Australian branch, and I'm really excited to hopefully bring Project BB to you guys. This book is so close to my heart, and you guys have been talking about it and asking me about it, and I just want to thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart, all your support. I also want to thank my writing besties like Hannah and like Ashley um and even Lynn for helping me through this process.

[00:05:52]And just for the author tube community, the publishing community, and all those agents who also were able to have a look at my work, [music] thank you. Like, this is so exciting to me. I really don't know what the the the vibes are, if that makes sense, because there's some things I can't disclose, of course, because it's very like hush hush, and I just want to make sure I'm like being proper and being being like professional.
