A team of American experts literally said, "With a height difference like this, only God could build a bridge here." China said, "Watch us." They came up with a genius technique called cantilever assembly, building outward from both sides of the canyon at the same time, piece by piece, until two massive steel arms met perfectly in midair. While they were still being built, each [music] half just hung there, in the sky, carrying hundreds of tons of its own weight while fighting brutal crosswinds with nothing holding them up on one end. And in the end, completed. On time, exactly as [music] planned. Some call it impossible. China calls it Tuesday.
