Afternoon weather forecast April 21, 2026Added:
Anytime we get a small one, we're always like, "Oh, is the big one coming? Is that what's about to happen?" It's a little unnerving. Yeah.
>> It is. Without question. And in Milford in Millard County, they are not only experiencing that over the weekend, but they have some of the strongest wind gusts all day because of how strong the winds are ahead of a cold front that's coming through tomorrow morning. It'll drop our temperatures big time, more than 20° here across northern Utah and about 10 to 15° in central and southern Utah. For now, it feels really nice out there. We have mostly sunny skies across the western half of the state. We kind of see more clouds moving through the eastern side. They were generally thin, kind of high-level clouds, so still plenty of sunshine, especially in the southeastern corner. 79° right now in Salt Lake, 75° in Logan, then 86° in St. George. You can see out west, there's more clouds and precipitation that's coming with a storm system that'll impact us the next couple of days. As you look at our wind speeds right now, up to 18 mph in Salt Lake City, and gusts up to 30 at times. Up to 29 mph in Milford, where they've had wind gusts up to 55 mph. As you look out west again, we can actually see where the winds are shifting through Nevada. That tells us exactly where our cold front is and how it's going to move in tomorrow, at least move through Utah tomorrow. It's also going to bring valley rain and mountain snow, not only through Wednesday, but through Thursday as well. Below normal temperatures will be in for us for the rest of the work week, so taking us from the 80s to the low to the mid to upper 50s. Let me see if I can go back on our graphic system cuz I accidentally went forward way too fast, so 1 second. Okay.
Okay, there we go. Let's break down these headlines a little bit further.
Sorry, everybody.
Our cold front, when it comes through tomorrow, it's going to bring some strong wind gusts. As we know, we're already having the strong wind gusts, but as it moves into northern Utah tomorrow evening, it's going to bring really strong wind gusts. Or tomorrow morning, it's going to bring really strong wind gusts in the afternoon for eastern Utah. So, you might not have the winds really strong today, but you're definitely going to have them tomorrow.
Now, in terms of the precipitation part of the storm, this cold front is going to bring a little bit of rain and a little bit of mountain snow.
Mainly, again, for northern Utah tomorrow morning when it's moving through the northern parts of the state. Valley rain and mountain snow will be possible. Again, the northernmost part of the state, so we're really not expecting a lot with this storm system. In the afternoon, as it slides through northern Utah, again, chance for us some showers and some isolated thunderstorms. We'll have the chance again in the evening, as well as throughout the day on Thursday, but really Thursday doesn't look to be as active. Like I said, temperatures will be much cooler behind this cold front.
We're tracking the mid to upper 50s, not only tomorrow, but on Thursday, as well.
So, for central Utah, you'll also feel the cooler temperatures generally in the upper 50s in Nephi and Manti with the chance for a few showers, as well. Upper 50s, near 60 in Beaver and Cedar City, 57 in Panguitch, mid 70s in Moab tomorrow, low 70s in St. George.
So, that's a 15° drop compared to today.
Mid to upper 70s Thursday through Saturday, then another potential dip over the weekend. Generally in the low to mid 50s tomorrow for Logan, Tooele, 54 in Heber City. A little bit of rain and snow mix possible along the Wasatch Back. For the Wasatch Front, we'll be in the mid to upper 50s and near 60 as we head through the end of the work week.
Mid 60s on Saturday, then we'll fall again, thanks to another storm system that could bring us some more wet weather on Sunday and Monday. Sorry about that glitch, everybody. I'm so out of breath That's right. She's been gone like a day for a while.
I know. I know where you went. I had no [laughter] idea. I'm sorry.
I'm back. All right, good to see.
Thanks.
