Political timing and strategic legal maneuvers can significantly influence sentencing outcomes, as demonstrated by the case of Peter Murrell, whose guilty plea came 18 days after the Holyrood election and whose sentence was affected by newly implemented early release policies that were rushed into place specifically to benefit him.

Murrell Won't Serve a Long Sentence!本站添加:
Hi, welcome to another episode of Silverfox Island. In the last video, I explained why Peter Murrell was likely to be given a long sentence. And in this video, I'm going to tell you why he's unlikely to serve a long sentence.
Because Peter Murrell's guilty plea came at an incredibly convenient time for the SNP. He was originally due to go to court on February the 20th.
Then, with just 7 days notice, the hearing was postponed. Magically, as if somebody decided this was an inconvenient time to have the hearing.
And when he did finally plead guilty, many months later, what happens? Well, May the 25th, 18 days after the Holyrood election.
How very fortunate. How very fortunate for the SNP, of course.
But, Murrell is now in HMP Edinburgh, awaiting sentence.
And experts say say he could face up to 4 years in prison, which I covered in the previous video. But, and it's a huge but, thanks to the SNP government changes to early release rules, which have come in subsequent to uh his original appearance in court, he can be freed after doing just 30% of his sentence.
The policy was brought in to ease prison overcrowding, they say. But, it's funny how this policy was rushed in only after they realized that Murrell was going to have to go to prison.
Isn't that weird?
Um it's going to benefit him. I still think there's a deal done. I still think there's an awful lot of them at the top of that SNP who were all fingers in the till. I think it was decided that Murrell would take the fall, but they'd make sure he didn't do too long in prison. I reckon he'll be given 3 years, and he'll be out in 1, or just under 1. They'll look at time served. They'll do this that and the other. He is nowhere near going to get a long-term in prison.
The SNP have got to look after him, you see.
And all those others, where's that other 200,000 pounds? That's only the 200,000 pounds we know about.
There's actually millions missing.
Nobody wants to go looking for that.
Yeah, it's a huge money-making corrupt organized criminal outfit.
Somebody had to take the fall and Murrell did.
Now, they're all looking after themselves. Stinks.
But he, of course, now, because of all those delays that they deliberately put in, because of the changes in the law ever since this came out.
This is why it's taken several years.
They've had to get laws passed about early release and all this sort of rubbish.
Get people used to early release before Murrell goes to prison. So that Murrell doesn't go to prison for very long, indeed.
Patently obvious when you see it.
Thanks a lot. Bye.
