The iMIND Study Group is using multimodal retinal imaging combined with artificial intelligence to detect subtle retinal changes that may indicate neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's disease before symptoms appear, potentially enabling earlier clinical trial interventions and risk factor modifications during the nearly 20-year asymptomatic period of the disease.

Can Eye Scans Detect Brain Disease? 👁️Added:
Our goal has been to obtain multimodal retinal and choroidal images and along with AI be able to identify neurodegenerative conditions before symptom onset. You know, being able to identify Alzheimer's disease earlier in the nearly 20-year asymptomatic period along its disease continuum, for example, would make earlier clinical trial intervention and risk factor modification possible and open doors for initiation of effective therapeutics much earlier.
