Eviction is a legal process where landlords remove tenants from rental properties, typically due to non-payment of rent or lease violations, and involves specific legal notices (such as 14-day notices), court proceedings, and potential loss of housing security; tenants facing eviction should document their situation, gather personal belongings, and seek legal assistance to understand their rights and options.

One, you can call whoever you're going to call, try to stop it, call the court.
This is crazy, like You can call the property manager, whoever you need to call.
On the second half, you need to get all your valuables together. Your cell phone, your charger, your keys.
I only owe $421. This is today.
Ma'am, I don't have anything to do with that, man. You could You could owe a million dollars or one dollar. I have a writ from the court that says to put you out.

That's what the law says. Too much [ __ ] Yeah, we going to come in regardless.
What?

Will you do this? Will you do that? My lights about to get cut off. My water about to get cut off. My rent about to be past due and I'm about to be evicted. Well, baby, let me tell you something. You knew all them damn bills need to be paid again next month on the same day when you paid the first bill.
Baby, it's not my responsibility and to enable your lazy ass. Get up and take care of your own [ __ ] All right. So, check it out, right? I'm going to take you guys with me on a situation that I have with a tenant that my tenant hasn't paid me rent in about 2 years.
She hasn't paid me rent. So, she stopped paying me rent um before the pandemic. And then, like many people, she used the pandemic as an excuse to justify continuing not to pay me. Well, it's over today. Remember I told you guys time is up. Well, today is her last day in the apartment, but I'm going to do right by her and I'm going to help her out. So, I want you guys to pay attention to what I'm about to do.
So, come along with me, y'all.
>> It's raining. It's been pouring. Well, we usually stay late. You think so?
Yeah. Well, thank you. It's not the Converse, you know? Yeah, I love Converse.
It's nice. Yeah, I've got to get this straight here. But, my car is packed. My son said he going to come help me.
Um I got to go get him. So, you want to go and we can put the stuff out and then come back and get this? Yeah. All right, so.
>> this this right here is it. This right here is is it. What happened now? All right, so so one corner and one. We have two you staying here. Uh-huh. Um You were supposed to stay here for a certain time, but they don't want you to stay here anymore. No, that was never the agreement, but what is the cops being called for? What Just We didn't get called for anything.
So, you're here for what? Just um so, the person that let you stay here, they want you out. So, like they giving you 30 days so you can move. So, they told you to tell me that?
Yeah, they just said that. Oh, really?
That's a police matter now? No, I'm I'm just relaying the message. So, they don't want to argue.
It's no argument. We was not arguing.
>> Okay. So, um um it seem like they already gave you a notice. Um so, they being like nice to give you a notice.
So, you're so she's the landlord? Is she the landlord?
Listen, I'm not I'm not here to to to to say who's the landlord or who's the tenant. I don't know. I didn't know this was a police matter. I've lived in different places before.
>> go anywhere. We can get called to anywhere. So, this is Is this an official document, sir, that you're that you're serving me?
>> reminder. Friendly? that they're giving you for you to move out.
Um it you can take it out how you want to take it. I can enforce anything. This is a landlord-tenant issue. Right. All right, so >> So you're here just to deliver me this letter?
>> So they asked me if I can do that and then that's what I >> Oh, you're so nice. When I ask for help, I can't get no help. Okay. Have you called 911?
It's 9:38 a.m. and we are on the way to the court. I will update y'all when we get out. Okay, we just got out the court. It's raining, sorry, but the judge ruled that we have 5 days to pay the full amount. For those of you who don't know, we owe $3,117.20.
We are only $517 short. So thank you to everybody who has helped me. You have 5 days to come up with this, actually until next Monday. And then I have to pay the full amount of next month's rent to the court. Which please don't take this the wrong way, but I wish somebody told me that I could reopen the case instead of filing an appeal because now I owe more money than I [ __ ] have.
The court that we went to, she can't even do nothing no more because now it's in the big court. Don't hit me with a you should have known. Not everybody's raised with this type of knowledge. It's not always available to everybody in school. Regardless, we have to pay $1,383 for next month's rent cuz base rent is 1,200 something plus utilities, sewage, and water, all that [ __ ] I don't know how we about to pay next month's rent because my job don't start till the 26th. And they talking about we need the full amount when we was using Flex for the first few months. Can't even do that no more cuz we made a freaking appeal. But after we pay next month's rent, everything should be fine.
We should be able to use Flex after that.
>> What is she getting out of this deal?
Nothing.
No money.
Nothing. Destiny Gravitt Waters is speaking for her mother-in-law because when Kimberly Gravitt was told earlier this month she was being evicted from a Gwinnett County home, she broke down.
>> And I decided that it we needed to admit her because she felt hopeless and helpless.
>> As it stands now, Kimberly Gravitt will walk away from her home of 40 years with nothing, not a dime. So, how is that possible? She would have never just signed away her home like this. All the equity. No, she is that's she was balled up in a ball on my couch going they just got all of my equity. We learned about this Gwinnett County home while investigating HomeSaver 911, the company being sued by Georgia's Attorney General for allegedly stealing titles to the homes of Georgia consumers. Brian McFarland is the founder of HomeSaver 911.
>> evict her, we didn't put her out of the house. That That wasn't on us.
He's right. It's a real estate company called Georgia Venture Investment Company LLC that evicted her. Let's follow the paper trail. In 2024, Gravitt did sign up with HomeSaver 911 for help to avoid foreclosure, signing over a warranty deed to her house. HomeSaver 911 says that's supposed to be temporary. They give back the deeds when you pay off the loan. But, in this case, they signed the deed over not to Gravitt, but to Georgia Venture Investment Company who had filed this lawsuit against HomeSaver 911 claiming they were the real owners of the house.
He goes, "Well, look, I'd be I'd be happy to give you $15,000 back and you guys just nullify your deal." I said, "Yep, no problem." But, a big problem for Kimberly Gravitt. Georgia Ventures took her to court back in 2024 saying she agreed to sell her home to them in 2023 for $150,000 but backed out. In a default judgment, a Fulton County judge ruled that she must sell the home to Georgia Venture, quote, "Upon plaintiff's payment of the purchase price and other monies required by the contract." But, we checked records in Gwinnett County and at the State Court of Clerks, there's no record of a sale or closing, no record of any money ever changing hands. Georgia Venture got deed to the home because HomeSaver 911 signed it over to them.
She is just bewildered. She does not understand how this happened.
An attorney for Georgia Venture emailed me, quote, "Georgia Venture has tendered the money to Ms. Gravitt many times, but she refuses to accept it. She or her attorney may obtain the money at any time." The Gravitts say that is not true. Are you the lease holder? Um, she is. She said that's why she gets off at 6:00. You might need to call her. Oh.
Any weapons or anything like that in here?
I don't I don't know of any.
I'm just over at my brother house. My brother and his girlfriend house for a little while.
Let me call him.
So, wait, everything has to get out the house right now?
Yep, that's what we're here for. I'm going to set it out.
Wow.
Now, the way this works is I come in I take pictures of everything. Once I get my pictures taken the crew comes in we start setting it out. Well, can I have a minute to call them, please? Cuz I didn't know nothing.
Sorry, this is so shocking to me. Well, evictions don't This is how evictions work. As soon as I show here whoever was living here don't live here anymore.
Or so, right.
>> I did not I promise that I don't know nothing about Well, a [bell] lot of people don't understand how evictions work.
But, it's not one of them things where you can come back. You don't live here no more. It's a eviction.
That's what it Wow. That's what it is.
Okay, can I move my own things? Do I have to Well, that's what a eviction is.
Well, my cousin say that. So, can I move my kids? Can I do that? At least get my kids out the way, please? Well, yeah, you will have to get the kids out. And that's why I'm going to come in and take my pictures. And while I'm doing that what I would advise you to do is you got any [clears throat] jewelry, money Yes.
cell phones, that kind of stuff go ahead and gather that stuff up cuz you don't want us putting that in a bag. Please don't put my stuff in a bag, sir. That's what I'm saying. So, go ahead and start gathering that stuff up while I'm taking my pictures.
And then you need to get the kids Yes, she has the eviction people. They ain't trying to put stuff out.
Uh, did the eviction people tell me to come up here and help me, please?
Yes, girl. Yes.
Scared of me saying Well, that's it.
Um I legitimately begged.
At the age of almost 51, I legitimately stood in front of another human being.
And I begged her for help.
>> [snorts] >> I begged her to give me until Friday.
Because I said, "Look, just give me till Friday. I don't know what I'm going to be able to do, but I'll figure something out. Just give me till Friday."
I don't have it all.
And she was like, "I don't take partial payments." I know you don't take partial payments, [ __ ] I know.
I said, "Just give me till Friday.
That's all I'm asking. It's 4 and 1/2 days."
And she [snorts] said, "No, I've already given you more time than than I should have.
And [snorts] yet you've got people here 4 or 5 months that haven't paid rent, and you just filed an eviction." And that's a lie. [ __ ] no it's not.
That's It's not.
I legit I legit just stood in front of another human being and I begged.
I begged.
So, I'm getting evicted in 3 days. Isn't that just lovely? We love that. We love that. But I think my apartment is trying to [ __ ] me over, and I'm going to tell you why. So, I'm not renewing my lease here. They know I'm not renewing my lease here. My lease ends on the 17th.
I'm leaving on the 7th. I'm out. I'm gone. I never want to see this place again. I never want to be in it again because management sucks so bad >> [music] >> after they change. They know I'm leaving. So, I sent an email sent trying to figure out like, "Hey, why am I getting evicted out of nowhere?" Because I already paid my rent for March. My rent is prorated. It's paid. I paid it on the 20th of February.
>> [music] >> So, why am I getting evicted?
Okay, so I walked my butt all the way down to the front office to try to figure this out. And I said, "Why did I get an email saying we have 3 days to leave? [music] That I'm getting to get And this going to go on my credit because I'm sorry, boo, but no. So, let me get this straight. Y'all are mad because I threw it in y'all face that I pay $50 in a two-bedroom in a 10-story building for my family of eight. Y'all really mad about that?
Are you mad because you can't receive no type of assistance?
So, you're just taking it out on me.
Huh?
I really I genuinely want to know. What is What is the real deep-rooted issues that is making you be so mad that I pay $50 in rent?
Was it Does that make you mad? Does that make you want to punch me in my face?
Does that make you shivering your boots?
Is that the line that got you guys um angry at me?
I don't understand how a genuine question can make you be mad at me. I literally asked y'all a question. Like I'm I said this multiple times. I asked y'all a question. What is the problem?
Like, why can't y'all just answer a question? Why Why do you want to ruin somebody's life over a question?
Three questions. Why do you want to ruin somebody's life over that?
Because you're so miserable, you want me to be miserable, too?
What the hell?
>> [music] >> What the hell?
What the hell?
What the hell, E?
What the hell?
What the hell?
All right, guys. So, I got to put helping people on hold for now. I just got like an eviction note, and um I took over my mom's house like a year ago.
She was back like 20,000 in uh just past payments, right? But, ended up putting down a portion, bada boom, bada bing, made a payment plan, but they breached.
And um now I'm facing eviction. So, I'm going to have to put helping people on hold for now. I'm going to have to figure my situation out. I don't know at this point if I even want to save this house.
Honestly, I'm just ready to move and start a new chapter, right? It's just scary though when you think about like moving.
Um but it's looking like I may just move out the city. I've been in New York City my whole life and lately business has been doing amazing in other states, so I've been considering relocating and then just letting the place go, you know, and um just looking for a new place, but uh yeah, I'm going to have to put everything on hold for now, guys. God bless you all. I wish you nothing but the best. Um you know, God willing things get better, I'll be back.
Until then, be blessed and stay free.
