The Loneliest Sunset in the Solar System 🌅

[00:00:00]The sunset you're looking at might be the loneliest sunset ever recorded in our solar system. The special thing about this is that this is not from Earth. This is from Mars. This photo was taken from about 99.3 million kilometers away from Earth. A lonely and beautiful blue sunset [music] that has been happening for billions of years, yet no one there to see it. This image was captured by the Opportunity rover. It was sent to Mars [music] in 2004 for a mission that was supposed to last just 92 days. Instead, it survived and worked for nearly 14 years, [music] but in 2018, a massive dust storm covered Mars.

[00:00:36]Opportunity's solar panels stopped working, and we received its final message. My battery is low, and it's getting dark. It never woke up again.
