The verdict demonstrates the clinical precision of the Texas legal framework in balancing future dangerousness against the possibility of mitigation. It serves as a sobering reminder that the law mandates ultimate accountability when a defendant is deemed an irredeemable threat to society.

Defendant SENTENCED to DEATH (Tanner Horner)Added:
Welcome back everybody to another shocking courtroom episode of Lockdown 23 in one.
That's right, shocking it is. The defendant today is going to get a little bit more than a smoking. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about when you see it. But today, we're going to be witnessing the sentencing of Tanner Her.
This guy was a delivery driver that killed a little girl in a very gruesome way. Very tragic and sad story, and it really messes with my heartstrings. So, I'm not going to speak about too much of the details, but I did make another episode going into it if you want to run that back. Let's go right ahead and put on our smoke and fireproof jumpsuit and witness what the courts have in store for this maniac.
All right, here we go. There he is. Scum of the earth.
He sits right up there with old Chris Watts.
>> Court has received notifications from the jury that they have reached a verdict. Both sides ready to receive the verdict. Ready your honor?
>> Yes, sir.
>> Ladies and gentlemen, this courtroom is very full and I do not know what this verdict is, but remember, whatever the verdict is, we're in a courtroom. All right, and there will be no reactions to the verdict. All right, let's go to work. That's right. Let's go to work, baby.
Someone give the honorable judge a bottle of Evian.
Why is everyone still standing? The judge already came in. Oh, the jury. The jury. Yeah, jury walks in. Everyone stands. Respects the jury.
I might as well stand, too. Cuz I got plenty of respect for him as well.
Everyone may be seated.
>> Good afternoon.
>> Good afternoon. Your honor, >> resigning juror. It is my understanding jury has reached a verdict on both issues. Okay. You hand the police to Deputy King.
The smokeage details are inside the file.
>> To special issues, special issue number one, whether there is a probability that the defendant would commit criminal acts of violence that would constitute a continuing threat to society. The answer we the jury unanimously find beyond a reasonable doubt that the answer to special issue number one is yes.
>> Yes, for sure.
>> Signed by the presiding juroria.
Number two, whether taking it into consideration all the evidence, including the circumstances of the offense, the defendant's character and background, and the personal moral culpability of the defendant, there is a sufficient mitigating circumstance or circumstances to warrant that a sentence of life imprisonment without parole rather than the death sentence be imposed. Answer: We the jury unanimous unanimously find that the answer to special issue number two is no.
>> No. signed by the presiding juror.
>> So in case he didn't really catch that, the jury says they don't think he deserves life in prison. He deserves a little something extra. Sounds like he's going to get that death note.
>> No, your honor.
>> Miss Anderson, Mr. Goble, is there any legal reason why Senate should not be pronounced?
>> No, your honor.
>> Mr. Horner, if you'd stand, please. It's the order of the court that you, Tannerland herers, been a judge to be guilty of the offense of capital murder as found by the jury. Jury having answered the special issues making it mandatory that your punish punishment be death. It is therefore the order of this court that your punishment be death >> smoke >> before the hour of sunrise on a date date to be determined by this court upon a mandate of affirmance issued by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals at the State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas.
You will be caused to die in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice until you said Tanner her dead. Said execution pre procedure shall be determined and supervised by the director of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
I will sign this death sentence as required by law.
Your appeal of the finding of this guilt by the jury and their determination of the answers to the question in this sentence are automatically appealed to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas.
You will be appointed a lawyer to represent you on direct appeal and your lawyer will receive a copy of the record of this charge of this case at no charge. You have the right to have a second lawyer to represent you on rits of habius corpus. It's a separate matter. Habius corpus. You'll hear that quite a bit in lock up if you happen to take that route from all them jail house attorneys. Habius corpus is a fundamental legal right and court order forcing authorities to justify a person's detention. It prevents arbitrary imprisonment allowing detainees to challenge their confinement's legality before a judge, which if you're to ask me is a waste of time. This dude is a open andsh shut case. All these appeals and crap, if I were to guess, he's going to be trying to take that crazy route. mentally deranged, unable to stand trial. I mean, I don't see how there's any other way, unless there's some loophole that we didn't see that the state might have messed up on. I highly doubt it, but if I were to guess, he's just, you know, doing his last haymakers, even though he knows him damn self. It's game over. So much tax dollars is going to be waste because this guy's appeals and bull crap. It's unreal.
Uh, I'm Elijah Strand. I'm Jacob's brother, Athena's uncle.
Um, >> Athena's uncle.
>> There are no words that truly capture the devastation that Tanner caused us in and our family.
What he took from this world is not just a child.
He took a life, a future, and a piece of every single person who loved him.
He took a granddaughter, a daughter, a niece, a cousin, and a friend.
Hm.
>> She would call me Uncle Elijah cuz she for the longest time couldn't say the Elijah part of my name.
>> It was the best thing to see.
>> Sad, man.
>> Arms open yelling Uncle Elijah.
>> And it's one of my last memories I have of her.
And now I get to never hear that again.
>> This is why I don't put these victim impact statements on here, man, cuz I'm about damn on brink of tears.
Was more than a headline.
She was laughter, curiosity, kindness, and she had dreams that she will never get to chase.
birthdays that she will never celebrate and a life she'll never get to live because of his actions.
Our family has a thin lap with an emptiness that can never be filled.
>> This makes my blood boil.
>> I have three daughters. Two that get to got to meet her and grow with her and one that will never meet.
And he took that away from them as well.
A cousin and a friend.
He stole a sense of safety from all of us. And I think me and my wife just got comfortable enough to let our kids play outside. And that's even in our backyard, not close to the road.
He's robbed us of safety, peace, and our trust in the world and forever changed who we are as a family.
And we are left to carry grief that never fades.
We are left with questions that will still never have answers.
And we are left trying to honor It's a beautiful little girl whose life was taken in the most senseless and horrific way.
>> No emotion from this guy.
>> Tanner Warner, I want you to hear this directly.
You did not just take a life. You destroyed a family.
You took a little girl who trusted the world and repaid that innocence with violence.
You chose to cause pain that will last generations.
>> Look at this psych.
>> You say you found God, but what you did to Athena stands in direct opposition to everything that you now claim to believe.
>> Just looking at him makes my blood boil.
In >> Matthew 18:6, it says, "If anyone causes one of these little ones to stumble, >> it would be better for them to be at the bottom of the ocean around their neck and to be drowned.
That is how seriously harm against child is judged.
And you will be judged. You will face the wrath of God.
But I want you to know that the way that the defendant was staring at him, man, it it was really eerie. No emotion whatsoever. You know, uh turned in his seat to get a more focused, locked in view. 100% pure monster. And even though I'm glad to hear the judge say he's getting a death penalty, it still kind of, you know, makes me a little mad because I know he's going to be going to that closed in safe death row cell block. You're to ask me, it's safer than PC in there. You're always on lockdown, so no inmates can get to him. You know, unless a guard or something like that opened up a window or opportunity for someone to do so. To me and many other ex-cons, you know, this guy's sentence should have been death. Of course, same thing. Nothing's changed except for the housing. They need to put him in that GP block like I say all the time cuz chances are if he was in there, he definitely wouldn't be waiting no decades to years in prison for that death sentence to come around.
Them inmates would be getting to work immediately. But we got to take it how we can get it right.
Get him out of here.
Bobby, crank it up one more time.
The flames too.
See you later, sucker.
But that's a wrap for that psychopath, ladies and gentlemen. I'm not even going to mention his name no more. Like I said, this one affected me just as bad as a Chris Watts case. I'm surprised that fool's still walking around in the pin centry, man. That boils my blood as well. Don't even get me going on Casey Anthony, man. Oh man. But there really isn't much else to say on this case besides, you know, the peels that he might be putting in, I can almost guarantee ain't going to be going nowhere. So, I wouldn't stress that too much. But one thing's for sure, two things for certain. I'm definitely going to be watching my kids like white on rice when they're waiting for the mailman or delivery driver. Even though I already was, it's going to be even more of an heightened sense now. And number two, I can't stress this enough, man. You can't put nothing past nobody.
There's a lot of sick-minded evildoers running around these days that look just as normal as Mr. Rogers himself. But I'm out of here, ladies and gentlemen.
Hopefully you enjoyed the little update and uh if anything else does come up in the future, I'll be sure to bring it your way, ladies and gentlemen. So, as always, until the next time, y'all be easy, be safe, and stay free.
