Cash Incentives, what do they really signal?

[00:00:00]From a hiring perspective, there's certain tools that employers use. They all cost money. And not all cash is created equally. Part of what we say at Clasp is cash can signal what you are trying to tell the employees that you care about. And so, part one from a psychology is figuring out what are you packaging your cash as? Is it being used as a sign-on bonus, right? A referral bonus, student loan related support, etc. What does that do and what does it mean? Right, a sign-on bonus probably means, "Hey, I got a shortage. I got to hire people yesterday. Please come join us." Referral bonus probably means, "Hey, I trust my employees' opinions on who we should hire, and I need that talent yesterday." Student loan repayment probably means, "Hey, I know what the talent is stressed about, and I'd like to pay it as they're retained."
