In Christian theology, eternal life is not merely an endless duration but a qualitative state of perfect happiness in union with God, achieved through knowing and loving God rather than simply living without end. This knowledge involves entering into a relationship with God, becoming His friend, and experiencing Him in love, which is a gift of the Holy Spirit that brings believers into deeper intimacy with Christ.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
After Jesus had been taken up to heaven, the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day journey away.
When they entered the city, they went to the upper room where they were staying.
Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alpha, Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.
All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer together with some women, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
The word of the Lord.
I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
The Lord is my light and my salvation.
Whom should I fear?
The Lord is my life's refuge.
Of whom should I be afraid?
I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
One thing I ask of the Lord, this I seek, to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may gaze on the love of the Lord and his temple.
I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
Have pity on me and answer me.
Of you my heart speaks.
You my glam sing.
I shall see the good things of the Lord.
in the land of the living.
A reading from the first letter of St. Peter. Beloved, rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed, you may also rejoice exultantly.
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the spirit of the glory and of God rest upon you.
But let no one among you be made to suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as an intriguer.
But whoever is made to suffer as a Christian should not be ashamed but glorify God because of the name.
The word of the Lord.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
I will not leave you orphans says the Lord.
I will come back to you and your hearts will rejoice.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
Hallelu.
>> The Lord be with you.
>> A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son so that your son may glorify you just as your you gave him authority over all people so that your son may give eternal life to all who gave him. Now this is eternal life that they should know you, the only true God and the one whom you sent Jesus Christ.
I glorified you on earth by unc accomplishing the work that you gave me to do. Now glorify me father with you with the glory that I had with you before the word began.
I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world. They belong to you and you gave them to me and they have kept your word.
Now they know that everything you gave me is from you because the words you gave to me I have given to them and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you and they have believed that you sent me. I pray for them. Do not pray for the I do not pray for the for the world but for the ones you have given me because they are yours and everything of mine is yours and everything of yours is mine and I have been glorified in them and now I will no longer be in the world but they are in the world while I'm coming to you.
The Gospel of the Lord.
My brothers and sisters, this is the last Sunday, last Sunday of the Easter season.
On the Sunday since Easter, we have been hearing accounts of the resurrected Jesus appearances.
to his disciples.
We just celebrated his ascension few days ago and now we await the coming of his promise, the paraclete, the Holy Spirit next Sunday.
Today we see Jesus, we see Jesus and his disciples at the table on the last supper.
Jesus prays for himself, prays for the apostles, and finally prays for all those who through the word will believe in him.
He prays to the father that we might have life.
Of course uh we all want to have life in abundance but unfortunately we misunderstand what eternal life means with we tend to take eternal life as life without end.
But eternal life implies not just an excellent quantity but also an outstanding quality.
The devil in and his angels have everlasting life.
They have everlasting life in that they never die.
But they do not enjoy they do not enjoy eternal life which is a life of perfect happiness in union with God. In union with God.
That is why the desire of Christ is for us, for me and for you to know God, to love him, to know him, not to live without him.
He says, "This is eternal life that they should know you, the only true God and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
My brothers and sisters, we need to know that for us people of western mentality to know is not as rich in meaning as in the Hebrew mentality for Jewish people or in the scripture.
It means not only knowledge, what we think in our heads, but also actions and experience.
This is not just an intellectual act.
Having a certain amount of knowledge about God to finish school or seminary, this is not enough.
To know God is to enter with him into a relationship, to become his friend, to discover the truth of who he is.
For example, when Adam and Eve knew good and evil, they have experienced what is good and evil.
In the biblical mentality, to know the one and true God and to know Jesus Christ means to meet God, to meet Christ, to be with him in love, to be with him in love.
And this is our problem.
We are going to the church every Sunday, praying every day, but are you in love with your God?
Inter interestingly in scripture uh Jesus speaks of eternal life in the present tense that we might have it now now not in the future now.
This is eternal life that they may know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
It is better to say they may know you as the only true God and Jesus as the Messiah Christ whom you have sent.
To know God is a gift, a work of the spirit of wisdom and revelation to bring you into deeper knowledge of himself.
Jesus does and will do everything to lead us to this kind of knowledge, intimate intimate relationship with him, to the the experience that in the church I am united with him. I am one body with him, with my God.
The experience of such unity with Christ makes my illnesses his illnesses, my problems his problems, my failures his failures, and my worries his worries.
Jesus wants this kind of unity with me and with you because he is the real Lord over all the powers of this world whom I fear only because of my lack of faith.
He is the Lord. He wants to give me eternal life.
But do I want him? Do I really looking I am looking for God to be my Lord?
Do I want to start every day with him with my daily prayers or I'm too busy or I am too busy to pray to be with my God?
Do I want to start every day with the awareness that I am one body with him, one body with my God?
My brothers and sisters, the second reading from the first letter of St. Peter today reminds us that we may have to struggle on earth to struggle and even suffer in this world is no life without cross.
But we need to see our sufferings, my suffering and your suffering as a gift, as a share in the sufferings of Christ our God.
And as Christ's sufferings lead to the glory of the resurrection, so too our sufferings, my sufferings, and your sufferings can lead to a share in the glory of the risen Jesus Christ.
In this, we are not alone on earth. The word of God tirelessly leads us to know God, to know our God, and to be united with him.
Today, each of us has to verify what our respond to this call is.
St. Jerham, a father of a doctor and doctor of the Catholic Church, firmly insists that ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ.
And I see some people coming to the church every every Sunday even after the gospel. They are too busy to come on the beginning of the on of the mess. They are coming after the gospel and they think everything is okay. Not everything is okay. Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Jesus Christ.
My brothers and sisters, by saying this, he's strongly urging all Christians to recognize that serious Bible study is a a necessity, not an optional luxury.
We need to read the Holy Bible, to hear the Holy Bible, readings every mass, not to come late, please.
This is why we need to cry every day to our God, our Lord. Let me know you, Lord.
Teach me to walk in your paths on earth.
Amen. Please stand up. Let us profess our faith.
Let's say shorter form of our creed. I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontious Pilot, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven.
Father Almighty, from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the forgiveness of sins, resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
With one voice, let us lift our prayers to our merciful father.
For the pope and all leaders in the church, may God grant them the grace to follow where he leads.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For all in positions of authority, may the Holy Spirit bestow upon them wisdom and prudence.
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord our pray >> for those who are suffering for their faith. May they be strengthened by Christ's presence.
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord for this community gathered here. May we encounter Christ more fully through the power of his word and the sacraments.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For all who have died, may they join the angels and saints rejoicing in heaven.
Let us pray to the Lord.
and for all special intentions and privacy of our own hearts, whether spoken or unspoken.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For a mess intention for Daniel, Daniel Roman, God's blessings. Let us pray to the Lord.
God of glory, hear these prayers we offer you in hope through Christ our Lord. Please be seated.
We are many.
We are all one body.
us indeed.
What a love we cross bear.
We would be your love to all the world.
We are many.
We are all one and the gifts we have.
We are share us indeed.
What we share the cross.
>> Pray brethren that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father.
Accept, oh Lord, the prayers of your faithful with the sacrificial offerings that through these acts of devoteness we may pass over to the glory of heaven through Christ our Lord.
The Lord be with you.
Lift up your hearts.
>> Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
>> It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our Lord. For all after his resurrection, he plainly appeared to all his disciples and was taken up to heaven in their sight that he might make us sherers in his divinity. Therefore, overcome with pascal joy, every land, every people exalts in your praise in even the heavenly powers with the angelic host sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim God and earth are full of your in theest bless. Bless in the name of the Lord in the highest.
>> You are indeed holy, O Lord, the f of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, We pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dwfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and giving thanks, broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take this all of you and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
The mystery of faith. We proclaim your death, O Lord.
>> Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly. We pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
Remember Lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity. Together with Leo our Pope and Nelson our bishop and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy.
Welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all. We pray that with the blessed virgin Mary, mother of God, blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be cos to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son Jesus Christ.
Through him and with him and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, will be forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as you await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power.
>> Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always.
Let us offer each other the sign of peace. Peace be with you.
You take the s of world on us.
of the world.
Have mercy on us.
God, you take away the sins of the world.
Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb, Lord.
I pray forever.
Bless you.
You Singer to the praise Bless beauty.
We wonder The shepherd to the saint Soon we Oh, Glory.
Pray for us to sing with heart and soul.
Will this Amen.
Let us pray.
Hear us, oh God, our savior, and grant us confidence that through these sacred mysteries, there will be accomplished in the body of the whole church what has already come to pass in Christ her head, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.
I wish all have a nice day, a blessed Sunday. I will give you God's blessing.
