The film 'The Mummy' (2026) by Lee Cronin depicts a supernatural horror story where an ancient demonic force called the Nazmaranian, a destroyer of families that has been passed through vessels for centuries via ritual, is transferred into an 8-year-old girl named Katie when she is found inside a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus recovered from a plane crash in the Egyptian desert. The entity was originally trapped through an ancient ritual around 2000 BC, and the magician's family has performed this ritual 82 times across centuries, always using innocent children as vessels because young bodies last the longest. The film explores themes of possession, ritual sacrifice, and the consequences of disturbing ancient evils, ultimately showing how the entity can be transferred between hosts through specific ritual words and physical sacrifice.

They Found Their Missing Daughter After 8 Years… But She Returned With EvilAdded:
This movie tells the story of Charlie and Laurie Cannon, an American family stationed in Cairo, who lose their 8-year-old daughter Katie to a woman called the Magician, and who find her again 8 years later, alive, inside a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus recovered from a plane crash in the Egyptian desert. The film is a supernatural horror about a demonic force called the Nazmaranian, a destroyer of families that has been passed from vessel to vessel for centuries through an ancient ritual, and what happens when one vessel gets found before its time. The film opens with the Magician returning home with her family. She stops the car suddenly, senses something wrong.
Inside, her young daughter Ela shows her a dead bird bleeding, a bad omen. The Magician sends the children upstairs and takes her husband to a pyramid-like structure in the grounds. Inside a secret chamber is an old stone tomb. She checks inside and tells her husband the mummy is still in there, still contained. They are safe. Her husband opens the lid slightly too far. A mechanism inside activates and drives a spike through his throat. He dies. The Magician stands over the tomb alone. In Cairo, Charlie Cannon is a TV news correspondent doing a piece to camera in the family apartment. His wife [music] Laurie is pregnant. Their son Seb drops his sister Katie's doll from the roof testing a new parachute. Katie is furious with both of them and goes to play alone in the garden. The family has been stationed in Cairo for 5 months and is about to move again. Charlie has been offered a breakfast news job back in New York and he calls Laurie excitedly to tell her. While he is on the phone, he spots [music] something in Katie's dollhouse, a stack of candy wrappers. He asks Seb about it. Seb says her friend at the end of the garden has been giving her sweets. Charlie goes to the garden.
Katie [music] is gone. The garden fence is broken. He runs out into the street calling her name and sees a woman running with a small girl through a rising sandstorm. He chases but the storm overtakes everything. He loses them. Dalia is an officer in the missing persons unit. Her supervisor brings in a foreign couple, Charlie and Lori, who have lost their daughter. He shows Dalia the candy wrappers, the broken fence, everything. Dalia says whoever took Katie had been grooming her, building trust over weeks through the friend Ila and through gifts of sweets and fruit.
Her supervisor does not believe the couple. He suspects them of involvement.
Charlie, who speaks Arabic, understands every word being said about him and erupts. Nobody finds Katie. Eight years later, the family is living in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Lori's mother, Carmen. They have a new daughter, Ma. Seb is a teenager who has been kept on a very short leash his whole life. Lori will not let him go on a school trip to Europe, will not hear of a family vacation, cannot let [music] anything feel normal. Over dinner, he says he is tired of never being allowed to go anywhere. The argument ends with him leaving the table. The family carries on around the silence of a lost child. In the Egyptian desert, a plane crashes near Aswan. A local boy finds the wreckage and discovers a tomb among the debris. Archaeologists arriving at the scene find the tomb intact and sealed. Inside, they find a body wrapped in ancient parchment covered in old script, and then the body screams. It is Katie. She is alive. The US Embassy calls the family. Katie has been found.
The family flies to Cairo immediately.
The doctor warns Charlie and Lori to prepare themselves. Katie has suffered extreme trauma from years of confinement in darkness with no stimulation. Her nervous system is severely disrupted.
She will make noises and erratic movements. No loud reactions. No sudden gestures. Her vitals are physically normal, strong heart, strong pulse, but she is locked in a deep catatonic state.
When they are led into her room and see her for the first time in eight years, Charlie reaches for her hand. She seizes without warning and has to be sedated.
Dalia, now a senior officer, has been reassigned to the case. She shows them the sarcophagus, 2 to 3,000 years old, a vessel sarcophagus that Katie was being transported inside when the plane crashed. She explains that stuffing a A person inside an artifact is a known king method. [music] Egyptian customs and inspection services routinely wave through what appears to be a historical piece. She tells them she believes Katie was being moved to a new location when the plane went down.
Charlie tells her he remembers her from 8 years ago. He asks whether she is going to do a better job this time than her boss did. She says yes. They bring Katie home. Carmen prepares a welcome.
Ma, who has no memory of her sister, tries to talk to her.
Seb watches from the doorway and cannot make himself enter the room.
Katie is placed in bed and Carmen begins to pray. The praying agitates Katie immediately. She seizes, begins to levitate, and Lori has to inject her with a sedative. That night Ma hears sounds and tells Seb she is scared. Seb tells her Katie has been through something terrible and they need to stand by her. Charlie stays up late reconstructing the script that was found wrapped around Katie's body. Over the next days, Katie begins moving through the ventilation system of the house.
They chase her through the crawl spaces and eventually corner her in the dark, finding her eating a live scorpion. The next morning there are coyotes blocking the road to school. Charlie locks all the ventilators. Lori tries to cut Katie's nails while Carmen grooms her hair. Cutting the nails pulls a chunk of skin from Katie's leg and blood sprays everywhere. Charlie runs downstairs and Katie has fled again. He finds her in the bathroom using a fireplace pick to scratch open her own flesh. Charlie suggests a facility. Lori refuses. Katie is not going anywhere. She has been gone long enough.
They fight badly. Charlie says they cannot fix her without understanding what happened. Lori accuses him of trying to bury his guilt by inventing a backstory. Charlie says she blames him for Katie's disappearance. [music] He was the one at home that day, but asks how she never knew about the secret friend in the garden. Both of them sit with that. Later, Charlie finds skin shed from Katie's leg with ancient text written through it. He peels apart the tissue and takes it to Professor Bixler, a linguistics expert at the university, who identifies it as hieratic, the first cursive script of ancient Egypt, 3,000 years old. He agrees to translate it.
Katie communicates to Charlie by grinding her teeth in Morse code. He transcribes and translates it. The name Ela appears repeatedly. He calls Dalia.
She searches for the name and cross-references it against the location where the plane departed from, a nectarine farm 80 km into the desert near Aswan, an unusual thing to find in that terrain. She drives out and finds the property. Inside is a farmhouse and beneath it a chamber, the same pyramid structure the magician keeps her vessel in. Dalia finds the chamber and the place where the sarcophagus stood. She finds the magician returning and confronts her. The magician charges with a cleaver and Dalia shoots her. The magician asks what she did to Katie.
Nearby, a young woman runs for a cliff.
Dalia chases her. The young woman digs up a buried box containing a videotape labeled with Katie's name. She tells Dalia she is Ela. Dalia asks why she is helping her. Ela opens her mouth. Her tongue has been removed. She was punished for once trying to speak the truth. Bixler's translation confirms what the recording from Al-Azhar University explains. The Nazmaranian is an ancient demonic force, a destroyer of family that moved as a shadow amongst the living seeding suspicion and hatred until communities collapsed. Around 2000 BC, its influence faded, but one account survived suggesting it had been trapped through a ritual. The bindings on Katie's body were containment words designed to keep the force inside its vessel. Ela explains to Dalia in writing. Her family has performed this ritual 82 times across the centuries, always using an innocent child as the vessel because young bodies last the longest. The magician performed the ritual on Katie using the old spent vessel to transfer the Nazmaranian into her, then sealed her inside the sarcophagus. Katie was never supposed to leave. When the flooding threatened the farm, her sons had to move the mummy and the plane crashed. At Carmen's memorial, the official version is that she fell cleaning Katie's window. The possessed Ma sits pulling out her own tooth. Seb is alone on the landing when Katie speaks to him through the locked door.
She asks him not to leave her alone, to let her out so she can join the family.
He runs. She crawls through the rotted floor beneath her room. Ma attacks a guest and tears at him with her hands.
The locked room falls open.
Carmen's body is in the casket at the memorial and Katie reaches it from above, biting into Carmen's throat while the guests stare. Dahlia arrives at the house with the tape. They play it. The magician explains on camera that her family has been containing the Nazmaranian for generations and that the time has come for another transfer. She documents the 82nd ritual. Katie is placed over the old vessel which vomits the entity into her and then she is sealed into the mummy. Lisa goes to free Katie and Charlie stays in the room.
Seb, now fully under the entity's influence, attacks Lori with a bat. She escapes through the ventilation shaft and sedates him with an injection.
Carmen's reanimated body comes after Dahlia. The entity produces a scorpion that lodges in Dahlia's throat. She pulls it out with her bare hand. Katie attacks Charlie and rips flesh from his face. Dahlia climbs the stairs. Charlie grabs Katie and holds her. Dahlia tries to speak the ritual words but the scorpion cut her throat. She drives her own fingers into her neck to force air through the wound and performs the ritual. The Nazmaranian transfers out of Katie and into Charlie. Katie comes back to herself immediately. She speaks to her mother for the first time in 8 years. Sometime later, Charlie is mummified in their basement, sealed to contain the entity safely and communicates with his family every day through Morse code. The siblings are together again. Then Lori calls Dahlia with a plan. Lisa enters the prison cell where the magician is being held, sedates her and tells her it is time to pay. Dahlia follows with Charlie in a wheelchair. She still knows the ritual words. She closes the door and that is how the story ends. If you enjoyed the video, please subscribe to the channel and drop a like and a comment to keep me going. Thanks.
