The high cost of living and fuel prices in Kenya are primarily caused by state capture and conflict of interest within the government, where officials manipulate fuel prices through proxies for personal profit, rather than global factors like the Iran war; addressing corruption requires leaders to be incorruptible themselves, as corruption spreads from the top down, and sustainable solutions include transitioning to electric vehicles and renewable energy to reduce dependence on global fuel markets.

Gachagua Blasts Ruto on 'Fake Nephew' Scandal! Fuel & Corruption | Ruto: 'PAY YOUR TAXES!'追加:
What does daddy watch every morning?
>> What is econ?
>> Oh, daddy watches it every day.
whole seminar where in the process problems plaguing Kenya and one of the things that I actually liked is he finally addressed this whole thing of his nephew who's been in jail for who's been in jail for a very long time for 20 years and one of the handlers How to answer this question?
The exact same question.
this whole relationship where there's a nephew and this nephew is beloved by the father and this nephew has secrets and uh yes and these secrets have been entrusted to him and only him and he decides that he's not going to share the secrets with the uncle and then ends up in jail. So does this story make sense?
But before of course what is how he'd handle the economic problems in Kenya the main problem much the problem of the high cost of living the problem of oil prices that are very high has nothing to do with the challenges in the world with the war in Iran and all But the problem of Kenya is state capture and conflict of interest.
What has happened with the issues foil?
William R has taken over that business through proxies.
He is the one buying fuel at negotiated prices where he has loaded his profit that is too high. That is the problem.
So um a few things uh state capture of course a very big problem and I remember Brooks like that and I remember during that time Huru was the villain and he could do nothing right and somehow right now Huru is the hero.
So history of state capture we need to ask ourselves how do we define it do we define it based on who we are supporting at a specific time is it something that there is a problem with is a conflict of interest of course something I've talked about the fact that even right now half of Langada road is used as a parking and the reason why it's used as a parking is right now western hotel is one of the most profitable hotels in Kenya and uh yeah that's part of state capture the fact That's so easy. Now since this guy is president, we have to give him business. So people come from far to stay at Western so that they can get political favors. Of course, conflict of interest. The problem of Kenya is one of corruption where the people in power have decided to steal everything from the Kenyan people and in the process they have brought the country down setting the prices of consumer goods to unacceptable levels. So the way to fix the Kenyan problem first and foremost is to deal with corruption.
And that I am clear in my mind for you to fix corruption you must not be corrupt yourself because the minute you steal you are Juda steal as well because yeah so um I think it's a very uh powerful point.
The fish rots from the head. So if the guy at the top is corrupt of course everyone below him is going to be corrupt. And uh for R fighting the corruption allegations becomes really tricky when a few people are arrested for corruption and we never see them in court. They arrested with 500 million shillings in cash and we never ever hear about that money again. That's half a billion and it's money that half a billion. We never heard about that money.
That's 10% right now. If you to tell us that 10% would lead to even 5% decrease in fuel a lot of people would take that mean that fuel go down by at least 10 shillings but you cannot ste alone as president when you are allocating yourself ters you have to work with some fellows and that is why you saw the other day the PS for petroleum the CEO for Kenya pipeline the CEO for APA decided what to do what their boss was doing. They decided to import their own fuel to make some money as well the way he has been making and he was so bitter he sucked them and locked them up because competing for him in business.
What we must do we must deal with corruption and let me tell you I don't want to brag.
I don't want to say that I am blameless.
I want to say that I've never been involved in corruption.
If I had done any corrupt deal for the two years I was deputy president, I'll be in prison today.
um your point I think uh the thing that he puts clearly kabisan in the past two years that will make sense but if we are to look at him past 2 years of course we'd have to look at the 200 million shilling corruption caseu and um yeah that's one of the reasons why ended up freezing his moneyuru like this this money was U about what may come from corruption. So the story so just weekly just weeks before the general election high court judge Esther Mina ordered Gashot forfeit 22 million to the estate and of course by the time Rudy ended up being the president.
So there was that. There was also the 1.5 billion land case that he ended up winning that corruption. So after that he's never been corrupt and I'll take his word for it.
I think if that was there maybe he'd have gone for that and for him that is William R has tried to look for a fault in my life. He cannot get any.
He is so frustrated.
He has sent investigators to turn my life upside down to find out whether I've ever stolen anything. He cannot get anything.
If I had dipped my fingers into the public coffers and stole even have a million, I will be in committed today.
He is so frustrated that he tries to look for food for me because I have stolen nothing and he cannot get me imprisoned.
He he now goes to social media to listen to gossip.
All he can say is what he's reading from what my adversaries are saying in social media. Oh G impregnated a girl 9 years ago.
What my adversaries are saying, the person who started pushing this narrative that Ri had impregnated a girl 9 years ago Moses Kurya and that story never took off till the president took it and ran with it and like I never asked that question. Yeah, the girl of course brought it up to interview was the fact that uh who was it? There was this like one of the people I'll come and look his wife is there please don't ask it's going to create a hole whatever whatever that's the reason why I never asked that but in hindsight the fact that brings it up I should have asked but I think these handlers are always really trying to save their person yeah sometimes when you think about it you're like I'm in the middle of nowhere if I'm told not to ask this question. Of course, I'm not going to ask it, but in hindsight, I should have asked cuz he's addressed it a couple of times where he's the one who brings it up because there's nothing against this man.
The man is white as no, he's nothing.
The other day he went to try to look for my relatives.
Our brother died 9 years ago. We did succession. We finished. Everybody got his share.
They have all the money and finished it.
There's nothing remaining. He lose place if I was his handler that ask him never to talk about. This is one thing you should just stay away from. The where the part is these are your brother's kids and that's uh maybe your brother's wife. Do not talk about that specific part. You can talk about Jackson Khara.
uh to talk about oh how they got their share they used their share you remain with your share if you really loved your brother you'd even be like you know what take back is people are struggling and you misuse because of that let me do so you should never bring up this but Kenya I think a certain level of freyle come to them I and help you to recover what was sold and it was sold. They were given the proceeds because there's nothing against me.
That's that's I'm trying to say I can be trusted to deal with corruption.
So like oh this story is over. I can be started to deal with corruption.
Now let me address the elephant in the room. So the left in the room on Thursday, one of the headlines and the headlines was uh Gashagua's nephew is finally speaking out and talking about how um he is in jail because of Kashagua Gashagua and Reati Kashaga trying to take away his father's property. So the story itself, you listen to it and you're like, "This is bullshit." And you're listening to it from the outside and somehow the government is still trying to push this narrative. Makes no sense.
You can call this person in jail. So maybe now here we are. That's that's I'm trying to say I can be trusted to deal with corruption and if you want to know I can deal with corruption just see how frustrated William R is the other day they went to Banani they looked for a criminal who was there for 20 years a robber and told him to say that he is a son of my brother nobody knows him we have never seen In my late brother's will, he was not there.
Even looking at him, he doesn't look like us.
The fellow is saying, you know, this William R, I think he is too confused.
The fellow is saying organized for me to be jailed because my father had died and he had left secrets with me and Gi wanted those secrets. So organized I be jed for 20 years.
Now he is saying those secrets he was given by his father when he died. Now this man was jailed in 2013. Kashagua was governor in 2013. He died in 2017.
Yeah.
>> So you you you know you know these are people who are lost completely >> and he saying it is state house people who came and this guy and told me if I say something wrong against G they can help me to leave prison. I'm still in prison now they have not helped me.
I'm saying if I was involved in corruption I will not be here today. his story, man. And his story may cover. I think I'm the one who's really covered it. And what I don't understand is how the mainstream media is just letting this whole mockery continue without anyone just poking the holes in it. The story is so pathetic that it makes no sense. Um, this guy is arrested for robbery with violence in 2013. He's also arrested for robbery with violence in 2014.
um all this time in 2016 he's jailed like sentenced to death but somehow he still has the secrets to his father and his father ends up dying in uh is it 20 what like 2016 and somehow they expect us to believe this story it's just nonsense man it's it's pathetic and I don't know how they are planning to do this And I think sometimes psychop when you're a psychopant you don't think things through and but they were talking about this whole fuel crisis and fuel crisis the strike was it was a losing fight because it is very hard to sustain a fight where majority of the people who employed uh work from like so it becomes very tricky and in the process so yeah Mombasa and what happened they president that there's no other strike that's going to happen and then the price of diesel in the next month 10 shillings. So against what?
I know there are those who are trying to turn this global crisis into politics.
People seeking to exploit public pain for political gain.
making reckless claims and pretending there are easy options.
But leadership requires honesty, not political opportunism or playing populist politics.
The reality is that no country can completely escape the global oil shock of this magnitude.
Even advanced economies with far greater financial resources than Kenya are facing similar challenges.
There are those asking government to remove all taxes and levies on fuel immediately.
and really needs the roads cuz that's how he's going to look for a second term.
Soon has to be completed by all means necessary. The SG that one has to be completed by all means necessary. So because of that, >> but we must ask ourselves honestly, if we stop collecting these revenues entirely, what public services shall we stop funding?
Do we go back to the spectacle of stalled road projects that had become a hallmark across our country? Do we stop the fertilizer subsidy that is enhancing food security?
Do we cut the security budget that helps us secure our borders, compat criminal gangs and protect citizens?
Surely our hospitals and schools must continue to function and we must continue to fund them. So yeah um so basically that's it and I think the the key thing for your whole speech here place here do we stop do we stop you have to look at the roads cuz R is really banking on Mironi and really banking on SGR cuz try and imagine if these things are launched just before the elections um there's going they're going to sway the vote people who live in bubbles and eco chambers who want to be old whatever they want to hear. But I can assure you if those things are launched before he's going to gain at least a million votes from Western Kenya depending on what cuz what that's going to do is it's going to really ease travel on that road and what what so the SDR would be a game changer and would be a game changer. So this guy needs that and if that's going to come at the price of pain for Kenyans now paying him to so by time next year that's just how life works. I think the human brain knows how to cancel pain and move to the next level.
Humans are really resilient. So that also works against us cuz we can't stay in the same sort of always complaining.
we always adjust and we adapt and we move on. So that's going to happen and Europe so that on your first transaction 100 cash back on your first transaction 10 cash back your bills.
Kenya payments for everyone.
But then he said something very interesting and what he said was stories import duty electric cars and damn if you have money I tell you man this is your time but now how they going to count. So what are we talking about?
We are accelerating investments in renewable energy, electric mobility, modern public transport and energy security infrastructure so that future generations of Kenyans are less exposed to global fuel instability.
We must embrace electric vehicles as a first step. And the government has already ordered 3,000 electric vehicles through the Ministry of Interior for use by our security and administration officials.
>> So, so damn, we moving from that. If I was doing this, what I'd have done is it would have been a thousand buses to be used for transport in Nairobi.
And these buses would be handled by the county government.
Um that would disrupt a lot of stuff, but which of course I let a thousand at the same time, but I'd bring a few a few a few a few before you do any change may move uh transport from private hands to public hands. Would it be painful to a lot of people? Yes. Would it be good for Kenya in the long run? Yes. Uh so now long distance yes you do private but is like within the city especially a city like Nairobi the movement of people should be by government and then apart from Nairobi after Nairobi Mombasa after Mombasa Kisumu that would be the ideal way where you get people moving that means that what happened last week where the whole city came to a standstill early this week that should never happen um especially because of private hands and if you're using electric buses things would continue as normal but you see let's see uh the part where people are asking who's counting I'm also making a declaration that the first 100,000 electric vehicles to be imported into Kenya whether for public service or private use will be dutyfree even as we continue to work with private sector for investors in the electric vehicle manufacturing to establish production facilities in Kenya.
>> Damn SC the first 100,000 vehicles. But now this is what I'm going to wonder. Uh if I'm a car importer, what is it called?
That's what I'll do.
I think uh was it called is it SU7 or something?
And the one that the standard goes for around 42. I go for around 42. Oh. Oh, damn. It starts at $31,000.
So, $31,000 import duty and import duty.
I think around 25% of it. So, there's that whole like a million shillings that you're going to save. Yeah.
as profit plus add another thing on top plus profit that would be really good and Z Kenya if they were to actually do that they'd uh yeah they if they get into that industry of bringing in Chinese cars for example it's going to be very interesting cuz they're going to do better than the big showrooms the big showrooms is going to a few limitations that these guys won't have so it's going to be very interesting to see like what happens. Yes, the new 2026 Xiaomi with 95 km range in Anza at 32,200.
32,200 would be how much? Let's see.
Just around 4.5 million.
That will be interesting.
Did you buy Xiaomi SU7 for 55 million?
that they're coming up with. The advantage is they're affordable. So, you get a certain level of luxury at a very uh like good price. So, it's going to be interesting.
100,000 cars. Let's see how many end up on our roads, man. But damn JT700 or something. What the hell is it called?
It would be super interesting to get that. But um Um and of course and I don't know but he's he's reached a level where he looks I know he looks too angry and the process and this speech is this a speech befitting a treasury ca speeches that should be anyone but if it treasury yes you have to have a certain level of nationhood.
You can't sound in quotes tribal as [ __ ] Speaker, I know you have all his ambitions. I know has ambitions. I HAVE ALL AMBITIONS. BLOOD has ambition.
Others have ambitions and western TOILE AFTER 2027. AS WE PROGRESS TO 2032, THIS REGION MUST ALSO PRODUCE A PRESIDENT. IT CANNOT BE THAT 65 YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE THERE ARE ONLY TWO COMMUNITIES WHICH HAVE PRODUCED PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY. KUYU HAVE PRODUCED PRESIDENT FOR 35 YEARS 15 FOR KINATA number one 10 NUMBER TWO 34 YEARS 24 MO 10 WILLIAM WE MUST TELL THEM 2032 WE DON'T WANT TO SEE A WE DON'T WANT TO SEE WE MUST ALLOW OTHER COMMUNITIES WE ARE 42 COMMUNITIES IN THIS COUNTRY AND EACH ONE OF US HAVE THE CAPACITY THE ABILITY TO LEAVE THIS COUNTRY.
>> OKAY. SO, um this is where we are man.
This is uh politics.
This is a CS and u yeah it's going to be interesting man. Next year I think one of the things that's going to happen is election it's going to be the least tribal but I think it's going to be tribal as hell. Um yeah. Let's see. Let's see what happens next year. The only thing hopefully so many Kenyans won't decide to now attack each other.
And hey, this is the reason why less radicalization on the ground more accommodating to each other especially as civilians.
This is what I mean. These people will keep pushing this and pushing this and pushing this and eventually there'll be enough people that are ready to believe in the same like political ideology and that will be really messed up. But yeah, overnight.
So, do you think he's explained your story? Well, the story that he was not he's not relative to that character that keeps showing up.
You think he's explained that well? And then another thing is a fake letter that has been going around that meet.
That one I think it's a fake story. Oh, he tried to meet the prime minister of Britain. Why would he try to do that? I think sometimes especially because of the way he talks classify as someone who's illiterate. I don't think he's illiterate. Okay. And I know he's not illiterate. So, I don't think he'd be uh dumb enough to think that there's a way there's a time where Kastama would ever meet him. That that would make no sense.
He's not a sitting president and relationship to government. So there's no way able to destabilize. So there was that key fake letter that was going around and uh yeah, I don't think it was a real letter. So do I think that that's crap, man. But yeah, and
