You Can Own The PropsOff-40 Frame!
Added:Hey, welcome back to the channel. Got a little something on the bench for you here. So, I'm super excited to bring you the Props Off 40 frame. This is the Props Off 40 top secret frame I've been working on for months. Um, I'm finally ready to kind of release it to the community uh anywhere in the world. You could own this frame forever. You heard me right. I'm going to sell the DXF and the STL files for this frame so that you can print and cut it yourself forever.
uh you don't have to worry about it being discontinued, out of stock, or any of that. I'm not really a retailer, so I'm not selling the carbon frame. Uh but I want to sell the files. I want to bring some value to uh the PropSoft channel. I'd like to update this camera.
My close-ups are not what they used to be. That system is no longer available.
So, the newer system just isn't cutting it. Uh but anyway, the props off 40 frame. This is my analog props off 40.
So, we have just the analog build. So, on my channel already, there's a maiden flight of the analog and then most recently there's a props off uh maiden flight. You'll see like a top secret stamp on it. Uh the maiden flight of the '04 light. Um lots of information unpack in this video. I have some pe people in my community that I've been kind of bouncing ideas off of and um how can I bring this to the world basically. Uh so stay tuned. Lots of information to go through. How can you have such an awesome little ripper yourself? Stay tuned.
[music] [music] [music] All right. So, before we jump over to the bench and show you all the detailed information over here, um I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to sell the DXF and the STL file um uh via email. So, down in the description of this video, there's going to be a Google form. Um I wasn't really sure how many I I know that I have, you know, at least near a dozen people that want it, but what happens if like a lot of people want it? Um, this is a frame. The PropSoft 40 is a frame for personal use.
So, there's not going to be any commercial uh outfit selling the frame.
Um, if you are a cut house or a print house, you know, if you're cutting or printing business and somebody wants this frame, uh, they need to have a a license number, which I'll provide. So, that's what the Google form is for. So, in the description, the Google form, you'll fill that out. And then there's lots of instructions on the Google form.
I tried to lay it out as best I could.
Um, so that you can get your personal identification number or your license number. So, this is an invoice slashpersonal use license uh number that I'll provide to you via email. And then once payment's received, um, that's $25 US currency. And here's a cool part. So, after uh bouncing ideas and having some conversations with my local community, um I'm gonna have Vinmo. I feel like I've made them. Let me let me start here. I feel like I've kind of made a little bit of a mistake over uh time. I didn't realize Vinmo was just kind of a US-based thing. I have a lot of props off family members all over the world. I have spoken to so many people via Facebook Messenger um and walked them through problem. Um, I used to do it every day. I would choose one person every day to call and work through their issues. Um, I I haven't spent that much time lately, but I can I can just imagine in my mind how many subscribers I have in, you know, all over the world. So, I've been trying to figure out like how how is it that this would work out? H how could um how could I bring the value to someone uh anywhere? So, we have Vinmo in cash in person. So, of course, if you're if you meet up with me in person, you just fill out the form and then I'll generate the invoice number and take care of the transaction in person and then I'm going to email you the files.
So, we also have crypto. So, there's three types of crypto. There's um this is all USD. So, it' be Bitcoin, XRP, and Ethereum. So, if you're into crypto, um I can accept crypto. Also, super chat.
So, I'm going to do some live streams.
So, make sure you got your notification bell on for that and you're subscribed to the channel. Uh during a live stream, if you're like, "Hey, I want that uh frame." Um during a live stream, I can make that work out on the fly, if you will. Um so, whatever the value is of the cryptocurrency at that moment in time, you know, that's what it is. Um, and then also with the super chat.
YouTube takes a chunk of it, but that's okay. Um, 25 US, uh, gets the DXF and the STL file emailed to you, and that way you can print and you can have that frame cut forever. You don't have to worry about it going out of stock or discontinued. Now, here's the thing. I I Let's go ahead and jump over to the bench. Um, I'll get a little bit more details about the form uh in the description, but let's take a look at the months that I've put into this project.
All right. So, you can see here, um, I have many sketches. Um, I have many, many iterations. U I've drawn this thing I don't know how many times. The reason why I've come up with the props off 40 frame, um, we'll take this dude here.
Let me let me grab another frame. So, I have all these um Whoops. So, the Beta FPV uh 75 millimeter Whoop. You know, you break a duct and then you want to convert your Whoop into a a pick style quad because they fly very different. I wouldn't say this thing flies like a 5 in by any means, but it's close to a 3 inch. It really does have that power to weight ratio and it drops quick. Um, it has a real good uh power loop capability. It's super fun. This dude's got a pretty decent tune on it. This one just I just made in this one, so I don't have a tune on them yet. I would like to share some more information uh once I get things kind of tweaked a little bit better. I'd like to maybe put together a page on the website. So, propsoft.com.
Um, but let let me just reiterate, I'm not a retailer. I don't sell parts and pieces. Um, so this is this is kind of new to me anyway. So, I'm just trying to go about it the best I can to bring value to the channel. Um, but on each one of these ducks, there's three points of contact. And those are the three points of contact that you snip. You just get some some nice sharp uh flush cut and you just snip away the frame at these three points. Um, I can go into more detail if people really need uh me to go into more detail of where to snip the frame. Uh, so that you actually are left with the in internal part of the frame. Um, I chose Beta FPV frame because I feel like it's a unique frame and then also it seems like Beta FPVs kind of locked themselves into this frame because most of their canopies, most of the things that they're coming out with um, have this design. So, the one thing that's unique about it is let me grab a an uncut frame. Um, so you can let me zoom in.
So, right here there's a hole for the canopy to attach and then your uh electronics. So, the standoffs in my opinion, Beta FPV has the best uh frame for 75 mm as far as it's just a robust frame. The interior of this protects the electronics very well. These standoffs don't break off as easy. The battery tray, these two straps here, they live a lot longer. The tray is tight to the battery, so the battery is not slipping around in it. Uh, and then also it has two uh forms of contact. So, the PropSoft 40 utilizes that. So, you'll snip here. You'll snip off this uh this strut here for the for the motor mount.
You'll snip that and then you'll snip right across the front here on this corner. And you'll do that to all four sides. So there's three points of contact. Okay? You're going to have one here.
You're going to have one here. And then you're going to have another one right there. So what you're left with is this.
Okay.
So once you have your internals, now here's the cool thing. So you don't have to um take it apart, like if you have broken ducks or you have a broken motor mount or whatever and you're just like, "Hey, I'm going to turn this uh Whoop into a PropSoft 40." You don't have to take it all apart. So let's jump back here. All you have to do is just take your motors loose. Turn it upside down. Take your motors loose and let them kind of dangle down. Um, hold on to your battery tray and snip these three points of contact here.
I see here, here, and here on all four sides. And then once that's done, let's go ahead and grab grab this dude just for an example. You take your props off 40 frame. There's a larger hole. So that signifies the front. So we'll turn that dude that way. And then in the uh Beta FPV frame, there's a larger hole.
Um so you can see see if I could show it to you here. See that? That one's larger than the other three. So you have like a smaller hole and then that one is larger. So that would be the front. Okay.
So all you need is a 2 mm. And then these three screws are the same size screws as what you use for the canopy up here in the top. So to attach your electronics, it's the same screws. So you don't have to buy a whole bunch of different screws. Um, but basically you just you're just holding your quadcopter with the motors dangling and you take line up that larger hole in the props off 40 frame. Pull your battery cable, your pigtail, and then go ahead and pop it on there. Put your four screws in. Turn the dude over. Twist your motors wires up and set it on there. There's a little There's a little groove. Let me zoom in a little bit more.
There's a little a little groove right there where the mo the motor wires are free to move a little bit. Okay. So, there's just like a little cutout there.
So, that way they can come up through here. So, you just fold your motors over or have it dangling. Put your frame on, put your four screws in, put your motor screws in, and you're ready to fly. You don't have to do anything else. So, it makes it super easy to change out the frame. you don't have to take. That's one thing that's just really bugged me about all of these types of uh pick builds is all the standoffs and all the things. So, if you were to crack the frame or break the frame or anything like that, it's like building a whole another quadcopter. Uh with the propsoft 40, that kind of takes care of that. You don't have that issue. Uh and then with the '04 light, it's it's basically the same exact scenario. the 04 light, all the electronics, everything's protected by this uh TPU mount that I found on Thingiverse. I'll try to remember to link it in the description as well. Um, just so you'd have it. Uh, but it works out really well. You can see how clean and compact it is. Uh, super super easy to uh maneuver and fly. Right now, I'm using a 450 1S pack in these uh two quads. I really like the agility. The power to weight ratio is really good.
you don't get as much flight time as a 580. Um I'd like to try a 580. I just don't have any. Um just to get get an idea of what that would feel like. Um it may drop a little bit quicker than I want to uh do. But anyway, so I have all these drawings that I went through, all these different um things. I had all my all my prototypes.
I had my little cutout first for measurement. So like I said, I've been working on this for a while. Um, and then as far as like the design, uh, kind of the design kind of morphed into its own self because you don't want the frame to be super rigid, you know, because it will break a little easier.
You want it to have a little bit of flex. Um, and this is 1 and 12 mm carbon for scaling um, these motor mounting holes. So, the the three motor screw holes, 1.6 mm. So, if you're having this frame cut, the uh scaling those holes are 1.6 mm. Uh these other three holes are also so sorry, that'd be the front, that'd be the back. So, these three holes are also 1.6 mm.
And then that's an M2.
So, super super neat. It it has it has the ability to take quite a bit of punch without break, you know, cracking or breaking. Um, I had a couple different designs, but when I flexed on it, you could see it starting to crease. You know, it start to bend there. Um, so this one, this is the one that came out just just fine. Now, keep in mind this is handdrawn, so like the dimensions, it might not be perfect all the way around.
This D, the DXF file that was used to create this frame, um, is a is a mirror of the STL. So, it's a half. So, it's a mirrored, you know, for symmetry. I just want to give you some weights real quick. That's the other thing about some of my some of my toothpick builds. They get awfully heavy. Um, I I tried to kind of come up with a way to keep it really light, really simple, very utilitarian.
See if I can turn this where you can see the There we go. All right. So, this is Well, actually, let's one and a half millimeter carbon frame by itself. uh 3.26 26 and then the Beta um 75mm internal um I have the Beta FPV 2.1. So this isn't the Matrix, this is 2.1 um flight controller, a pinch camera, um extinct mount. These are happy model uh 082,000 KV motors on this. 19,000 KV motors on that one. And then I have a OVX VTX underneath uh pigtail everything here.
So all up in the antenna itself. So 24.05.
So 24 g. And then the 04. I have the matrix uh 4 in1 flight controller. The beta clear. Oh, that's the other thing.
The clear. I like the clear. I think I'm going to go with clear on all of them.
Uh, the clear frame allows the LEDs on the flight controller to illuminate the whole case. I think I might add a little bit more LED to illuminate, but this whole clear frame glows. It's pretty cool. The battery tray and everything, it just kind of illuminates the whole thing. Anyway, so same thing, the frame, the screws. These are um newer iteration happy model um 082,000 KV motors. These are 45 millimeter props. So, I wanted the frame to be able to accommodate a 40 millimeter and a 45 millimeter. I like the 40 millimeter on the analog because of the weight. It's super agile, really rips. It's really fun. Um, obviously the '04 is so much nicer to fly because of the view. Um, but the TPU canopy, the antenna, 45 mm meter props, everything all up here. um 31.7 gram. So for utility and and light power to weight ratio, I feel like it's pretty good. Pretty good indeed. Uh super fun to fly. I can't wait to get a tune on this guy. You know, I think uh I think if enough people wanted the frame, I tried to organize things in a way. That's kind of why the document down below. So you'll you'll fill out the document, the the Google doc. I'm the only one that sees this information.
It's just for us to uh make this transaction happen. You'll fill out the Google document and that way I can pull it into a spreadsheet and then I can supply you with an invoice. It's an invoice slash uh personal license for you to use the uh files to print or to cut the frame. Um and then also for me to keep track of who's who wanted it, who ordered it, who paid for it, all that type of stuff. And then I may have something additional that I could send to your email. Like if I come up with something else for this project, um I can make sure to get it to you. Um I've kind of got a plan where there's probably less than a dozen people, but just in case um you know, a lot more people want, I need to make sure I'm organized. Um so hopefully that'll work out. But if a lot of people were to do this, I would like to see some of these creations. Um, and maybe post them. I might make a separate page on the propsoft.com website and have like a a separate page for the props off 40. Show off some of the builds that you guys come up with. I'd love to see some of the stuff. Like I can only imagine uh there's a lot of imaginative people in this hobby. So, I think that's what makes it so awesome. You have the technical side of it, the uh graphical side of it, the ability to help each other kind of thing. It's really something heck of a deal. Uh before before I go on too long, I just wanted to let you know I have tried um behind me I have a pile of a pile of motors and pile of props. I've been trying different props, different motors, all these kind of different combinations to feel the, you know, which one feels the best, you know, which one gives me that that punch, that acceleration, that flip-flop that I'm wanting. Um, I just wanted to I wanted it to fly more like a 3 inch. I wanted that I wanted it to be able to drop out of the sky a little bit, you know, I want it to be a little heavier, to drop a little quicker for the freestyle movements. Um, these are uh Borg Slayer motors. Uh, these motors went on the Cinnowoop. So, my my04 Cinnow, I just posted a video of the jello this canopy giving me. Um, I have a new canopy to swap out. I'm gonna jump in a live stream and swap this dude out. That's the only thing I'm going to do. I'm gonna get some video of that uh with this canopy that has the four dog bone um grommets. And then I'm going to switch it to a Mobila canopy that is more rigid and see what the two look like. And I'm not changing anything. The tune on this is non-existent right now.
Um I haven't done really anything to it other than a little bit of eye gain relax. some simple stuff. But anyway, I'm not going to change a thing. But I put the Borg Slayer um motors. I want to shout out to Jeff over at Weebly. He sponsored Buck IFPD Racing this year and I won these. I put them on this quad and I feel like this thing really flew really I really like the way it flew.
So, I'm going to put these on the Props Off 404 uh and give it a go. But before I do any of that, um I'm going to swap the canopy and get a video. So, make sure you hit the subscribe button and notification cuz I'll have the uh side by side on that eventually here. Um had some pretty gnarly storms today. Didn't get out at all.
Um but yeah, this uh this is too much fun.
So, I think uh I think that's kind of wrapping it up. So, in the description of my video, of course, if you don't want to purchase the frame, but you want to support the channel, I can replace this camera. Um, maybe I mean, my audio is pretty good. I I'm really not uh I'm not too finicky when it comes to stuff.
I'm not a real flashy kind of guy, but I like to make sure that when I'm translating information to you or I'm trying to help you because I use this setup to help people, too. So, if I do like a um a one-on-one with props off kind of scenario, you should be able to see what I'm trying to do. And I just I don't feel like I'm getting that quality that I used to get. Um but like I said, if you don't want to purchase the frame, but you want to support the channel, I have a Patreon, I have a membership, um Vinmo, I have all all of these resources down below. And I'd like to thank my current Patreons. If you would like to help my Patreons by subscribing to them, I have their links down below. Uh, so my Patreon and members are in the description. Um, but yeah, we'll get that uh Google form filled out if you want the frame files, the DXF, and the STL file sent to you via email. Um, so as soon as I receive the notification from you by filling out the Google uh form, that lets me know that you want it. I'll create the uh personal license and send that to the invoice number to you and then you make payment with that in your description. So that way I can make everything match up and then once I receive payment then I email you the the files. Uh these files are for personal use. The files are not to be used for commercial reasons. I don't want anybody trying to sell or stock this frame. um you know and then discontinuing it or or you know they don't have stock or somebody can't get a hold of it or whatever the case may be. If you are uh cutting it or printing it for somebody, it's very simple. They just provide you with the invoice number that I give them and all is good. So hopefully this works out. Um I'm kind of excited about this.
I've never done anything like this before. So uh I'm pretty excited about it. I would like to see more uh people flying it and having fun with it and enjoying that, you know, that utility that it brings. So, let me know in comments what you think about this. And uh yeah, hey, I appreciate you thumbs up the video and give it a like. Uh subscribe to my channel if you haven't.
And if you didn't like it, you know, you can give it a thumbs down. It all works.
Enjoy the breeze.
