Weather forecasts predict temperature and wind patterns based on pressure systems; high pressure brings cooler temperatures while low pressure creates pressure gradients that generate wind, with stronger winds typically occurring in the morning hours and higher elevations.

So, uh today's going to be a little bit cooler. It's not going to be cold though. Some of you are like, all right, it's cold outside. Uh the temperature's going to be the 60s for most of you.
It's going to be about maybe 64 to 70 is the temperature spread today. So notably cooler but we do rebound nicely here on uh on Sunday. Now the a lot of that has to do with the fact that we have the low pressure and upper level low associated with that moving through southeastern England is moving in this direction. No, it's not moving toward us, moving away.
Uh but there is going to be a pressure gradient because there's a high pressure sitting right up here and between here you're getting a little bit of a pressure gradient wind and especially true this morning uh because you're uh the proximity of these two features of high and low pressure. So in between is a squeeze play almost like channeling uh winds in your go down into downtowns uh areas with skyscrapers and the winds to of accelerate through those gaps or the streets there. Same same general concept here.
Uh and this is going to the high pressure going to bring in the cooler temperatures today, which we're going to be again in the 60s, but mix of sun and clouds for most of you.
And this will move away, but the windiest period is going to be this morning. So, let's get over to the wind estimations. This is early this morning and I say this morning, I mean before noon, okay? So, afternoon is going to be a different story. So, the strongest winds are going to come through this morning as you can see here. Uh some gusts that are going to get in the low 30s for a while as we get into the mid to late morning. And then once we get in the afternoon past noon, you're just 15 to 25 the remainder of the day. Uh and that's going to be area-wide, okay? So, the strongest winds here are going to be across the higher elevations of the Poconos and northern New Jersey as shown. And that's right there. And if I do this in terms of a gust swath, which is the accumulated gusts, uh I had a similar image we put on the our Facebook page or social media yesterday showing this. Uh but this is the this is where the worst wind is going to be in the where the green is. Okay, that's going to be some wind gusts that are 35 or greater. So, 35 to 40 there. Uh but that's generally following the higher elevations northeast PA, northern New Jersey for that to occur. The rest of you, you get some gusts of 30, 31, 32.
Not a huge deal. Not a crazy wind like some people were trying to sell.
Uh so, we made sure we point that out to the usual suspects. Of course, we're hyping I don't know why people do that.
What's the point of hyping this? I know it's for clicks, I get it, but man.
Not really necessary. Uh this is what the realistic is. I always tell people that if you hear something somewhere else, uh that's fine. Just come to us and we'll tell you what the real story is, right? Cuz that's basically what is going on here. Uh the other part of that is there's going to be some clouds associated with that this morning across northeast PA, northern New Jersey, and they're going to push off to the south.
They'll just become partly cloudy throughout the day here as these clouds will rotate around here, but this is just a mix of sun and clouds. That's all that is. Uh no precipitation is expected and temperatures of course are going to be cooler today. Now, look at this jump.
We go from today, these are max highs in the upper 60s to near 70 the I-95 corridor, but we get to Sunday the max highs are going into the low to mid-70s.
That's why we have 72 to 76 as the temperature spread here for Sunday. Much nicer day as far as temperature is concerned, and we maintain that through about Wednesday. Those similar kind of temperatures through about Wednesday.
Once we get to Thursday and Friday that we're going to have that trough finally leave, and we're going to have temperatures increase. We don't have any precipitation really to speak of except for uh here's Monday. We have like a what do you see the little short waves are moving through New England? There's kind of little little weak ones. Here's another one coming down. Uh with any of these you could have like a just a stray shower. It's not really showing anything on here on Monday. Here's a little bit on Tuesday on our eastern areas showing around the outer periphery of a you know of the the trough that's trying to exit at this point. There could be some showers that are extending back into New Jersey, far eastern Pennsylvania. So, we'll keep an eye on that for early next week. It doesn't look like a big deal right now. And uh once the once we get to Wednesday, this continues to pull away. And then when we get to Thursday and Friday, uh we do have no we have no longer have a trough here. So, that's going to lead to warmer temperatures coming in. We're going to be back in the 80s again. Um mostly sunny skies expected both for for both Thursday and Friday. Uh might have a system come in here on Saturday next week. It could be just a cold front that will uh move through and bring some scattered showers and storms. That will be our next chance for rain in the 7-day forecast period. I'm EPA to my meteorologist Bobby Marchisotta's weather outlook for the weekend of May 30th and 31st, 2026. Have a great Saturday and Sunday.
