Added:Students, welcome back to our channel.
So, here in this video, as you have seen in the thumbnail, we are going to discuss the unit number two, long explanation of organizational behavior.
In the previous video, we have already discussed the unit number one. If you missed watching that video means, please go watch that because if you watch that only you'll understand unit number two.
Okay? Even if you are having zero knowledge in this particular unit also, by watching this video, it will be more than enough. And this note PDFs are available in our Telegram group for free of cost. Clear, ma? All the links I have mentioned in the description box.
Uh as you are seeing on the screen, the first important question from unit number two is define personality, explain about the five big personality model, and trait theory, and MBIT. Means, in single question only we are discussing about the big five personality model, trait theory, MBIT. Don't worry, it will be easy only. If I explain, no, you'll clearly understand. Basically, if you listen my explanation, 200% you will get a clarity regarding the concept. Okay?
Don't by heart the concepts, ma. Just understand the concepts. Understanding the concept is very important. Okay? So, coming back to the personality meaning. What is the meaning you can write it for the personality?
What is mean by personality? Personality is nothing about the combination of person's thought, feelings, attitude, behavior, everything. Okay? Each and every person are unique than compared to another. I am unique, you are unique.
Okay? You are different, I am different.
Yes? So, it is nothing about a combination of attitude, combination of feelings, thought, behavior, that will make the every person independently unique. Okay? Individually unique.
It influences how employee work, communicate, interact with others. When you get to know about your personality, for example, if you get to know my personality, you will understand how I'll behave.
If I get to know your about your personality, I'll get to know how you will behave or how you will do your work.
Same like that only, this personality will be influencing the employee to work, to interact with others, to communicate in the organization. So, that is the meaning of personality, ma. In the examination also, like this only you should write it. Then, what is the definition part you will write it, ma? According to the Gordon Allport, okay, according to the Gordon Allport, personality is the dynamic organization within the within the individual of those psychological system that determine his unique adjustment to the environment. Here, what he was saying is personality is nothing about a dynamic organization where it will be depending on the unique environment of the employee. Okay, it your organization environment will be based on how your employee personality is there. That what here Gordon Allport is saying. So, from unit number two, if they are asking personality mean meaning and definition to compulsory you should write it, okay?
Then, I'm explaining about the personality big five model, trait theory, and MBTI. So, simple meaning, ma. First, we were discussing about the what is meaning of personality. Personality just now we have discussed it is nothing about the individual unique characteristics, behavior, attitudes, emotional patterns.
Why it it will do means it will affect your it will influence your workplace and behavior at the performance. This is the personality meaning.
Then, what is the meaning of trait theory? What is mean by trade theory?
Trade theory is nothing about it explains that every person has certain traits such as honesty, confidence, patience, and responsibility. These traits influences the behavior in different situations. For example, if every person is having the different traits, some person will have the honesty, some person will have the confidence, some person will have the patience, some person will have the responsibility. Like that these kind of features is called traits. Okay? So, this is the meaning of trade theory. I hope you are getting. Next, what is the big five? Big five is it nothing about there will be a five types of personality models. In that first one is openness. A manager or a employee or a person should have the openness.
Openness is nothing about they should be very curious about finding the to learn the new things. They should be creative, they should be willing to learn the new ideas. Like that they need to accept the challenges and innovation. That is called openness.
That is a quality of a person. Okay?
That is very very very very very important in the organization. Okay?
Second important big five personality is consciousness. A manager or a employer or a person who is in the organization should be responsible, should be organized, they should be disciplined, they should be hard working. Means what they are doing they should be have some consciousness. The complete they should complete the task on time and they need to maintain the quality. That is the another main important big five model of a employee consciousness. Okay?
Next one, ma.
Extraversion. That means extraversion is nothing about like a extrovert. They should be energetic, confident, friendly. okay? If they they need to interact with the people to perform the leadership roles. For example, if a leader is only introvert, if he is very shy to communicate with the others, how you will develop the state?
Yes or no? Same like that only, when a manager or employer should have the intro-extravertness, extraversion. That is nothing about they should be extrovert to the interacting with people. Okay? Next one, my fourth quality is agreeableness. Okay? That means employee should be very cooperative, kind, and supportive. They need to maintain a good relationship between their work related things. Okay?
They need to maintain a positive uh relations with the team members in the organization. That is the another main thing.
Big five, uh last quality is neuroticism.
Neuroticism is the another fifth one. Neuroticism is nothing about emotionally stability should be there.
That means employee who whoever is having For example, if a employee is very emotional, very very very emotional, he is not eligible to uh meet the circumstances in the organization. They should have the emotional stability.
They should know what is at what time we need to be emotional, at what time we should not be emotionable. Okay? That is called high neuroticism. High neuroticism will of course will leads to stress and anxiety also. So, this is the neuroticism. So, these are the five big personality. First one is openness, consciousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. These are the five big personality traits.
Then, what is mean by MBIT? MBIT full form, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This is the full form of MBTI, sorry. MBIT I have said, no? So, MBTI. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This is nothing about This approach will classify the people in the organization based on their how they are communicating, how they are thinking, how they are making the decisions. Means when you separate along with the department based on their ideas, based on their personality, automatically it will be helpful for the organization to understand the employee behavior very well. For that case, this MBI MBTI will be helpful. Then what is the importance of this personality?
Means you need to understand the managers, how they are assigning for the suitable jobs. It should be improving the teamwork. It should reduces the conflict and it should improve the employee performance also. That is called importance of personality. Okay?
Next one, organizational benefits.
Organizational benefit is nothing about perfect study will helpful for you to get the recruitment, training, leadership, development, motivation, improvement, everything, everything we can able to achieve. Okay? That is called organizational benefits. So, therefore, personality is one of the main important factor in the organizational behavior. By Big Five Model, Trait Theory, MBTI, it all approaches will be helpful for the organization to understand the employee behavior, which it will be helpful for them to improve the teamwork, to find the suitable roles, etc. Okay? So, this is the conclusion part you can write it. Okay?
Next, second question, define perception. Explain the perception process, perceptual bias, and bounded rationality. This is also one of the main important question. Perception is nothing about the process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting the information received through the senses.
For example, it When you get the information, you will able to understand the people, you will able to understand the situation, you will able to understand the events in your workplace.
Okay? To make any decision, first you want the information, no? So, that is called perception. So, what is the definition of this means? According to this Stephen P. Robbins, "Perception is a process by which individual organize and interpret their sensory impressions to give meaning to their environment." This is the definition according to this Stephen P. Robbins, okay? So, if they are asking perception question, means this is the meaning and this is the definition compulsory you need to write it, okay?
So, we are discussing now about the perception process, perception bias, and bounded rationality, okay? So, what is mean by perception? Just now I have said, no? It is nothing about your understanding the people to interpret their surroundings, means different people will have the different situations, okay? You need to understand in the different ways also. That is called perception. Then, what is the perception process we are having?
Perception process is nothing about it will include the First, you will receive the information, then you need to select the important facts, then you need to organize them, then you need to interpret them, and then you need to respond to that, okay? Like that, there will be a process, five-step process.
First, receiving information, selecting important facts, organizing them, interpretating their meaning, and responding accordingly, okay? Like this, you're having the five type five steps in the process.
Next one, ma. Perceptual perceptual bias. What is mean by perceptual bias?
Perceptual perceptual Perceptual bias are nothing about the errors in judging people or situation. For example, this bias, okay? Whatever you're having the bias, for example, X is there, Y is there. Y is my friend, X is not my friend. Y did mistake, but still I'm supporting Y. If you're doing that bias, no? It will lead to incorrect opinions and unfair decisions. So, that is called perceptual bias. Next one, my halo effect. Halo effect is nothing about one positive quality influences the overall opinion of a person. For example, X is a bad person, but having one good quality.
Based on that one good quality, you should not judge this X person. That is called halo effect. Okay? One positive quality is influencing the overall opinion of a person.
When you're doing like that means it will again come to the biased evaluation only. That is called halo effect occurs.
Next one, my stereotyping. Stereotyping is nothing about judging the people based on their age, gender, religion, color, background instead of their actual abilities, instead of their actual talent, you are judging the people uh based on these things. That is called stereotyping. Next one, my selective perception. The selective perception is nothing about people notice the information which believes their own and ignoring the other important facts. That is called another important perceptual suggestion you're having. Next one, my project projection. Projection is nothing about the assuming that other people have the same feelings and opinions and behavior on ourselves. It is completely different for us. I will think something about you and you will think something something about me, like that. That is called projection. Next one, my bounded rationality. Bounded rationality is nothing about people make decisions with limited information, limited time, limited thinking ability. If you're doing like this means your decisions may not be perfect. If you're not having proper information, if you're not having proper time, your decisions will not be perfect. That is called bounded rationality. Next one, my importance of this perception means it will be helpful for the managers for the understanding about their employees. It will be reducing the confidence in the organization. It will improve the communication in the organization and it will it will make a better decision also. Okay? So, that is the importance of this perception. And last one more, organizational benefits. Organizational benefits will be helpful for to improve the teamwork, improve the organizational effectiveness, helpful for the decision-making. Employee relationships also will be able to get a strong by help of this organizational perception or organizational benefits. So, this is about the perception question, perception plays an important vital role in the organizational behavior because it influences us that how employee will understanding the situation, how they are responding to that in a positive way. This all will creates a positive work environment in the in the good environment of the performance. That is the second answer.
This is a perception. Last question from unit number two, explain attitude, Johari window, and attribution theory.
This all these things we are discussing in first in this answer only, third answer. Introduction, attitude is nothing about person's positive and negative feelings towards the work or people or different situations. Then Johari window will is nothing about it will be helpful for the understanding about themself and the others. And attribution theory explains about the people's behavior reasons behind for that, okay? Attribute theory will explain about the reasons behind the people's behavior. So, these are the three concepts we are discussing now.
Okay, students. So, what is the definition? Attitude is learned tendency to report positively or negatively towards a object or a person or a situation. This is the definition. That means from unit number two, if they are asking related to this concepts means this is the definition you need to write it. Then first we will discuss about what is meant by attitude, okay? So, attitude is nothing about a person's thought, feelings, and behavior, okay?
So, if you have a positive attitude, means your work environment your work performance will improve. If you are having a negative attitude, means automatically you will not have a proper work performance and the workplace relationships also you not maintain, okay? That is about the meaning of the attitude. Then what is the components we are having here in this attitude concept, means there are three components, cognitive, affective, and behavior, okay? Cognitive is nothing about the thinking, affective is nothing about the feelings, behavioral is nothing about the actions, means if these together if you are using, means automatically you can able to influence your attitude of your employee behavior.
That is the meaning of the that is the components of the attitude. If they are asking only about the attitude, means you need to elaborate this cognitive, affective, and behavioral components of the attitude, okay? Next one, Johari window. It is nothing about a model which is developed by Joseph Luft, and it is nothing about a It is nothing about it will improve the self-awareness and also relationships also and helpful for the better communication also. That is called Johari window. Then what are the four areas we are having in this Johari window, means there are four areas, open area, blind area, hidden area, and unknown area. Like for example, open area is nothing about your strength and your weakness will be open to everyone.
For example, Shivani is good at this, Shivani is weak at this. That is called open area thing in Johari window. What is blind area? You don't know about your skill, but opposite person knows your talent.
Okay, that is blind area. Next one, my hidden area. Hidden area means nothing about both the persons are hidden about their things.
What is my strength? You don't know.
What is my strength also? I also don't know. Okay? And unknown area is nothing about my strength and weaknesses known only to me and you people don't know.
That is called unknown area. Okay? So, this is nothing about you are unknown to others. Okay? Like that. So, that are the four areas you are having in the Johari window, ma. Okay? What is mean by attribution theory? Then attribution theory is nothing about it will be helpful for the people to understand the causes of the behavior. That means how they are behaving in a particular way.
Okay? That is called attribute theory.
What is the internal attribution? We will have the internal attribution. My internal attribution is nothing about based on your personal factors. For example, your effort, your attitude, your ability. Okay? That is called internal attribution. External attribution is nothing about based on the outside factors. For example, how is your luck, environment, organizational conditions, like that. Okay? So, internal attribution, external attribution. Okay? Then what is the importance of this attitude is nothing about a positive attitude will increase the motivation, teamwork, communication, job satisfaction, and it will be helpful to improve the employee performance also.
That is called positive attitude.
Okay? Then what is the importance of this Johari window is it will be helpful to create a self-awareness. It will be helpful for the building the trust. It will be helpful for the encouraging the feedback. And it will be helpful for the strength of the communication and everything. Okay? For all these things, this importance of Johari window will helpful. Next one, my importance of attribution theory. How this attribution theory is having the importance? That means it will be helpful for the organizations to understand the employee behavior, okay? To improve the organizational relationships, to make a fair decisions. For that case, this all will be helpful. So, what is the conclusion part you can write it over here, ma? Atti- attitude, Johari window, and attribution, all these are will be helpful for the organization to maintain in such a way that to maintain in a positive attitudes, better self-awareness, to understanding everything, okay? So, organization success also will be able to achieve with the help of this uh theories, okay? So, like this you need to write unit number two, ma.
Whatever the three questions I have discussed, that will be more than enough to cover from unit number two.
Definitely, let me know how is the explanation. Uh in upcoming videos, I will upload the third, fourth, fifth along with the short, also. Stay tuned to our channel. Bye-bye, everyone.
