In animated comedy, character traits like stubbornness and determination can evolve across different roles, as demonstrated by Daffy Duck's transformation from a screwball character in 'The Super Salesman' (1948) to a more persistent character who later competes with Bugs Bunny, showing how animated characters develop and adapt their personalities across different story contexts.

Daffy Duck, the Pushy SalesmanAjouté :
in "The Super Salesman" 1948 a notorious criminal named Slug McSlug robs a bank and after successfully escaping the police takes refuge in a secluded house in the mountains but at that very moment Daffy arrives here in the role of a door to door salesman determined to make a sale the criminal is obvious not interested but the more he tries to get rid of him the more Daffy insists barging in coming back again and again and forcing every situation with completely illogical determination every object thus becomes a sales pitch from a bulletproof vest to the most absurd gadgets turning every threat into an opportunity to sell his merchandise among the most memorable gags is the one in which the duck chases a pair of eyes in the dark only to realize they're his own reflected in a mirror a gag already seen in the black and white short "Scrap Happy Daffy" set during wartime this short marks the debut of Salesman Daffy who will return in other shorts where in his attempts to sell he ends up destroying others people houses like most shorts of those years the pacing is relentless there is hardly a pause and every scene builds faster and faster in a continuous stream of gags and at the center of it all is a different daffy right in the middle of his transitional phase still screwball and unstoppable but with a stubborn streak that already hints of the later shorts where he will try in every possible way to get the better of the "despicable rabbit"
