BREAKING: Google Blackstone $25B AI Infrastructure: NVIDIA's Biggest Threat Yet

[00:00:00]On 18th of May, 2026, the AI chessboard, well, has taken a turn. $5 billion in cold, hard equity. A $25 billion total project value, Blackstone and Google are building a compute empire. What they want is 500 MW of power online by 2027, which is enough juice to power a mid-size city. And they are scaling up for it, and that too really quickly. The trillion-dollar AI dream demands power, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:00:36]Blackstone operates the massive QTS reality trust realty, sorry, trust platform. What they do is that they dominate global data centers. Google is now bringing the hardware architecture, the software, and the tensor processing units, the TPUs.

[00:00:56]They are bypassing the standard Google Cloud checkout line. And what you want is, well, compute. If you That's what you're thinking, well, you go to this new company. It operates entirely as a dedicated compute as a service business.

[00:01:10]It is actually a VIP room for enterprise giants. For sovereign AI buyers, foundational labs, all they need to do is lease the power directly. Everyone bows to Nvidia right now. We are aware of that. Nvidia GPUs are the golden tickets. Coreweave became a tech darling by, well, renting them out. Google hates that entire conversation. So, what they're doing is they are playing a hard counter.

[00:01:37]They are answering Coreweave, giving the industry a highly viable, long-tenor contractual alternative to Nvidia.

[00:01:47]There is, of course, a snag. Google spending is completely out of control.

[00:01:52]Their 2026 CapEx guidance is sitting between 175 and 185 billion dollars.

[00:01:59]Wall Street definitely gets nervous when big tech burns cash like that. So, Google has well tried to pull a magic trick. They move the heavy instruct infrastructure debt off their own balance sheet. Blackstone absorbs the financial blow into their own controlled vehicle. Google which basically does is that massively expands its TPU footprint. They keep the control of the architecture. And I feel it is quite a brilliant dodge. The so-called winner here might be Google's own employees.

[00:02:36]The geniuses at Google DeepMind were literally waiting in line for their own compute fabrics. They were actually locked out of their own house. This new Blackstone vehicle I think feeds the soaring outside commercial demand and it also clears the internal traffic jam.

[00:02:55]So, what we need is a heavyweight for a massive pivot. Blackstone has tapped Benjamin Treynor Sluss. He is the new CEO. Sluss has spent over two decades building and running Google's massive global infrastructure and he's definitely the man where who knows where the cables are buried. Now, he is running the spin-off.
