A concise reminder that the laws of thermodynamics are the ultimate budget constraints of the universe. It elegantly explains why every "free energy" dream eventually pays the tax of entropy.

What the hell is perpetuum mobile...Hinzugefügt:
What the hell is perpetual mobile and why we can't build one? A perpetual mobile, also known as perpetual motion machine, is a hypothetical device that can do work indefinitely without an external energy source. In 2026, despite thousands of viral videos claiming to have invented one using magnets or gravity wheels, the laws of the universe have a zero tolerance against them. Why they always fail comes down to thermodynamics. The first law states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. A machine cannot output more energy than you put into it. Even if you build a perfectly balanced wheel, the second law introduces entropy. In the real world, some energy is always lost as heat due to friction against bearings and air resistance. A machine left to itself will always inevitably slow down and stop. Physicists categorize these into different classes of impossibility. A first class machine tries to create energy out of nothing, like a self-powering water wheel. A second class machine tries to convert heat completely into work with 100% efficiency, violating the natural flow of thermodynamics. In 2026, patent offices worldwide still instantly reject any application for a perpetual motion machine unless a working prototype is provided. And spoiler alert, nobody has ever delivered. Luckily, trying to build one has forced humanity to understand how energy actually works, leading to incredibly efficient modern technology.
And of course, I had to place here this ad, so don't judge me, please.
