And so it was really nice to see family. It was really like a closure that I actually felt that I really needed all this time because I've been pushing and pushing and pushing for this man to get better and to get stronger and to just by phone calls, you know what I mean? So, it was really good to have family. So, yes, Lyn, it was nice. It was really nice.

We didn't just didn't want to do that uh to them cuz they were here having a great time and they had Oscar night, dress up in Blitz tennis shoes night. I mean, oh man, it was really cool. We missed it, but it was really nice to see pictures.

Way before COVID, right? and he said all of a sudden they just started taking money from them and you know charging for a lot of rides but then paying them less and stuff like that. I remember he was telling me oh my gosh it's hitting us hard you know and that's why he started getting more educated and he got went got his IT license itch doing all that stuff and he started doing that to try to make things better and that was on our last rounds you guys. That's how we uh ended that part. He was a good it tech person knowing a lot about computers and programmings and stuff like that. And that's what he does now with our website for the beat the stroke. You guys, if you guys haven't already seen it, go over there and check it out.

[00:09:56]>> Wow. And what does the pain feel like though? What is it like? Is it like a electric >> tingling feeling? tingling >> right now.

[00:10:09]>> Last night they felt like they were on fire. Can you guys imagine being in that kind of pain 24/7? And there's nothing that you can really do about it. I mean, they tried to give him like nerve medication for that, but it doesn't do anything. And that's how it all started.

[00:10:23]It just never took care of anything. He was very uncomfortable, but he still kept going. Still kept going. Um, and see, is he getting better? That's what Wick Reeves wants to know.

[00:11:50]>> Yeah. He was just on the phone on his computer looking at the screen. phone >> and he called him. So now I don't have to really do all that extra stuff. He can actually do it if he feels like it.

He was everything you guys and he's writing music and it feels so good to hear him >> just hearing music you know >> I can do Amazon Flex one day >> he can't do Amazon Flex that was just some extra you know extra income that we would do together cuz we would go on the routes together and it was nice traveling together and delivering things and he wouldn't be alone in the dark without me or in the mornings I went on how many rides did you about,00 rides. He did, 1100 Amazon deliveries.

[00:30:11]And it's kind of similar to like what Rod had. The same thing, the back of the brain right here, the vein in the back of his neck, too. got >> it was crazy >> and got man got to >> but they got to him earlier. So the sooner that you have the symptoms you get immediately to an ER but he went to a stroke center. I don't know why he went directly to a stroke center but he went to a direct stroke center and they picked it out and they got on him immediately >> in the hospital.

[00:30:40]>> And he was already at the hospital.

[00:30:42]That's why >> and that's why because they was able to get right to it. When they see an active stroke happening, they can kind of reverse it in a way, but he still has some side effects. He said he couldn't speak at all. He couldn't move at all.

[00:30:56]And then he was eventually able to write and he wrote to his wife some personal things and uh he said it was really hard to speak again.

[00:31:06]Um but he didn't have to have rehab though. Isn't that weird? So they say he was doing so well he didn't need rehab.

[00:31:12]So, like I said, everybody can have strokes are different and it depends on the extremities of the the stroke and the blood clot. And um he did not have a stent in there cuz Rod had to have a stent, but he didn't. They removed it or they they went and gave him the medication that he needed to stop the bleeding. So, yeah. Isn't that amazing you guys?

[00:31:44]That's crazy. But I'm just letting you guys know. Yes. If you guys have any weird symptoms of slur speech, uh disoriented, uh can't lift your arm, uh right your right or left hand goes numb, >> going, >> those are all signs.

[00:32:04]>> Go straight to the doctor, you guys. And also I want to read to tell you guys I was reading about a a doctor here in Roseville. He's a doctor that works in the stroke center and he had the symptoms of having a stroke while he was driving to work, you guys. So he rushed over to the ER right where he works and tried to communicate to them. He called his wife on the phone. He said he couldn't use his hand after he called his wife after that. But he pulled right up into the drive uh into the parking lot and went in and they took him right in immediately and administered that reverse drug to make it happen to make sure that he will not get the full stroke. And he had it too, you guys. So, like I said, it's crazy. And he was a stroke doctor.

[00:32:52]>> Yeah. And he was really um >> It can happen to anybody, you guys. He did uh marathons on bikes, bike marathons and stuff like that, riding for miles and he was very fit too. So like I said, it can happen to anybody and stroke awareness is very important for everybody to be familiar with and pay attention to your blood pressure for sure you guys. You guys have to pay attention to that. It's really that's the first signs. Yes.

And people don't understand that finances stuck, you know what I'm saying? They're stuck and then idled. So when you need to have assistance and you need to get the help that you need, that's when your friends, your family comes through and they try to keep you afloat, right? And thank you, Lisa, for asking that cuz you have kept us afloat, too. I just want to say thank you to you, Crayola, as well.

And I just want to say that it's really important to really have somebody sticking behind you guys to push you guys through so you don't have to worry about that. The main thing was they didn't want us to be homeless when we got back home because where were we going to go if they took our house, right? What happened? Where would we go and stay at a hospital for the rest of our life or I don't know. But they knew that that was important and those are the most things that we needed more than anything. There's still bills. There's still car notes. there's a car note.

And once upon a time, the physical therapies have stopped for about about a good month, about four weeks, and then he went back in the hospital for a UTI infection, and he was there for six days, and they ended up sending him with more home care at the house. We're so blessed because he wasn't getting any.
