Robespierre offers a sharp legal reality check that dismantles populist rhetoric with procedural nuance. He successfully clarifies that the UK's actions target the incitement of violence rather than the suppression of political dissent.

Joe Rogan Doesn’t Get England – I School Him on Twitter Arrests!Added:
Hi guys, back in 1994, 1995, the very first time I used the internet, I was blown away. I thought this is absolutely amazing. You have access to all this information right in front of you. You don't need to read a book, you don't need to read a newspaper. It's all here in one place.
And I thought the future would be wonderful because so many people will have access to all this information. And what it will it do? Well, it will reduce ignorance.
Of course, I was completely wrong because we also have misinformation. So, I want to show you this clip here where Joe Rogan, a right-wing podcaster, had on the US health secretary, and they were talking about Twitter posts. Have a listen to this.
And you look at what's happening in England now, you know, people going to jail for Twitter posts. 12,000 people this year. Yeah. [laughter] Okay, first of all, why do they keep referring to the United Kingdom as England?
>> [laughter] >> Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are completely forgotten. It's all in England. Like, okay.
I mean, 12,000 in the last year. And this was the Magna Carta was, you know, written in Al There. So, what the heck is this got to do with the Magna Carta?
>> [laughter] >> The Magna Carta was a document for nobles to protect them from the wrath of the king.
>> [laughter] >> Like, you have trial by trial by your peers, uh if you're a noble. It wasn't for It wasn't designed for ordinary people. Wasn't designed for your serfs.
It wasn't designed for your peasants.
>> [laughter] >> It was designed for a class of people.
Uh for some reason, these people on the right keep bringing up the Magna Carta, the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta has nothing to do with social media.
The Magna Carta has nothing to do with Twitter posts. Nothing to do with free speech.
Like, like, these people are insane.
It's Now, it's just a It's just a dictatorship.
>> got rid of trial by jury, except for murder and rape and a couple other things. Now, it's just a judge. So, Now, I actually agree with Joe Rogan on this.
This is wrong. And I've mentioned this before. The problem with removal the removal of trial by jury was the justification. The UK government said we need to get rid of it to bring down the the backlog.
The backlog is massive. Many people are waiting years for a case to be brought to to a judge or to a conclusion.
And the justification was, well, we need to get rid of trial by jury and that will speed it up. But if you listen to barristers and legal experts, they were saying, "No, this is not the problem.
The problem is resources." The criminal justice system needs more money. You know, the Tories run it into the ground with their austerity and their cuts.
So, if you listen to barristers and junior barristers, they will say, "Look, we need more resources and we need more staff. That will bring down the the backlog, not you know, getting rid of trial by jury will not really fix it."
So, you know, whatever it is. If it's a social media infraction, if it's There's no reasonable, you know, judge by jury of your peers.
No, you're you're you're getting judged by a judge.
And that's nuts.
>> It's a Soviet system. It's like Kafka. I just can't believe how quick it happened.
When you you know, when you look at the social media arrests, they were they were always disturbing. Like if you go back even four or five years, they had quite a few of them a year. But it really ramped up. It really ramped up over the last year or so. And it's just insane to watch. And a lot of it is criticism of immigration. No, no, no, it's not criticism of immigration.
Oh [sighs and gasps] my goodness. If it was criticism of immigration, then GB News would not exist. Okay?
>> [laughter] >> Let's be frank about that. Reform UK would be a banned prescribed organization if it was criticism of immigration. It's incitement to violence. Lucy Letby was jailed under legislation from 1986.
There was no Twitter in 1986. There was a very limited form of the internet in 1986.
So, she was not jailed for Twitter posts. She was jailed for incitement to racial violence.
She actually played guilty. That must be remembered as well.
So, this is not about free speech. This is not about Twitter posts. Once again, and I mentioned this before, you know, when people used to incite violence, they did it on a soapbox on a street corner.
Now, we don't do soapboxes on street corners. We use the internet. The The crime is still the same. It's just the conduit, the method of delivery is different.
Oh my goodness, these people are something else. Like legitimate criticism of immigration and legit >> No, no one has a problem with legitimate criticism of immigration.
The problem is incitement to violence.
Is it legitimate in Joe Rogan's opinion to say that people in a should be burnt?
Would that be legitimate criticism?
Calling for people to carry out these actions?
Calling for acts of violence or terrorism?
You know, for Joe Rogan, I presume, well, you know, if you write it on Twitter, then that's fine.
Would he do that? You know, he even has his own limits. He won't say certain things on the air. Why Why does he do not do that? Because he understands that would be incitement to violence. And he, in the US, is not even protected under the First Amendment over that. You The First Amendment protects your freedom of expression, but does not allow you to break the law.
legitimate criticism of crimes that have been committed and people outraged, which is completely normal. But instead of like doing anything about that, they want to arrest people for cu- They're They're not arresting people for tweets.
Why is this so diff- difficult for people like Joe Rogan to understand? Is Joe Rogan stupid or is he pretending to be stupid like many politicians?
And this is the thing I don't understand. You know, he has access to a a lot of information. He's access to the same information as I do.
And generally when I'm making a video or I'm talking about something, I do a bit of quick research beforehand cuz I don't want to be embarrassed.
Do I make mistakes? Yes, I do. Often.
But my mistakes are not intentional.
Sometimes I've taken down videos because I made a mistake. Sometimes I posted a comment on the community page cuz I made a mistake.
Cuz I don't want to make mistakes.
So, Joe Rogan can simply do a bit of research. He has a team of researchers to find out, okay, are these crimes taking place in England or the UK? And these 12,000 um comments or arrests, what was the justification for them? Why would these people been arrested?
It's not a huge amount of work. We have the internet now, as I said at the beginning.
It's just dangerous, this misinformation.
Because Joe Rogan's audience is pretty big in the United States. A lot of them are right-wingers. They're Trump supporters. And when they hear about England, they say, "Oh, look, it's a dictatorship over there. Maybe we should stop having a a relationship with the United Kingdom or England because of what they're doing. Maybe we need to pressure Keir Starmer or the Labour government to change their ways. Maybe we should support people who are champions, so-called champions of free speech like Nigel Farage." This is the problem.
This is why misinformation needs to be called out.
Needs to be corrected.
Otherwise, you end up with a situation where people are ranting and raving about the Magna Carta and 12,000 Twitter posts.
>> [snorts] >> Let me know in the comment section, guys, what you think about all of this, and I'll see you in the next video.
