[00:00:00]Posterior urethral valves. These are small obstructions which happen in male children. Many a times we would have diagnosed this when the child is inside the womb, which shows up that the bladder is very big in this fetus and both the kidneys would have been swollen or hydronephrotic. And the kind of function would be varied. The most important thing in a posterior urethral valve is these children, about 70-80% will [music] have kidney dysfunction.

[00:00:29]And unless all of them are properly 80% of them will require a transplant. These children will require follow-up till 18 years of age. Please be sure about it, otherwise we are going to see the child after kidney failure and ultimately transplant only would be an option. If we follow them up, 70% of them we can prevent kidney failure in these children by tackling the bladder problems.
