THE FARMHOUSE. Before The Tent. Still cold weather. More hay bales. Packing for The Tent. Cooking.Added:
Heat. Heat.
Hello everyone and welcome back. Sunday morning. I don't know what it is. May 3rd maybe. I have a whole bunch of hay bales coming today. 40 squares and three or four rounds. They should actually be here in about 15 minutes, maybe. So, we'll get those unloaded. And um this will be a shorter video, I'm sure, because we're heading up to the tent. I don't know if I'm get going up there Thursday or if I go Friday morning and Melissa will come up on Friday night.
So, I'll have to get this edited before that. But, we got our hay coming. The 40 square bales are for mulch. I want to put them over on the side of the garage.
And then eventually I'll get most of them into the um this part of the chicken coupe and the round bales I'll have them drop off out there. I'll probably pull them off with the tractor. I'm not going to film all this. I always feel, you know, been over what a couple thousand videos and I always feel stupid when you're filming if somebody else is there that like doesn't know you're filming. You know, I'm not going to be the weirdo carrying around a camera even though I have been for as long as I can remember.
It's a little bit breezy this morning, but it's supposed to get up to 65°.
Haven't seen that in probably 2 weeks and then only for maybe one day.
Heat up here.
Victor.
Yep.
That and busted up the rest. Whatever he found for good bails, he was um saving.
And that was these ones.
Well, I have the 40 bales sitting over there, the square ones, and then the three bales out there, the big round ones. They're bigger than the other ones that we had. I'll get them stacked in the right place eventually here.
Melissa's in there making mashed potatoes. And I have the exter external microphone. I wonder if this works with the wind. And uh meatloaf, what are you doing, Annie?

Well, it's a couple minutes before 10:00.
We're going to be going to bed pretty soon, but I do think that today for Sunday was a pretty productive day. I can't wait to get up to the tent. I'm going to be gone all day tomorrow. This is going to be a busy week, but at least at the end of it, we'll be up for opening fishing at the tent.

Well, it is the afternoon of the following day. Yes. Or no, two days later. I didn't film anything yesterday.
It was extremely windy out. We had that really nice day and then cold. today.
Now, the last time I looked about an hour ago, it's 37°.
Uh we had snow flurries here and the picture that come into the tent, they had snow up there and the feels like or the wind chill or whatever right now is something like 26°. So, it's been kind of miserable.
All I've been doing today, yesterday I was gone almost the entire day and today now I was gone this morning for a while, but I've just been getting stuff ready to go to the tent. Tomorrow I'm going be gone uh a whole bunch of the day and then the following day is Thursday. Today is Tuesday. And if I can, I'm going to go up to the tent that day. But if my schedule, I never know until really like the day before. If I don't have anything going Thursday, I already have said I don't have anything for Friday and nothing for Monday.
But I'm still open for Thursday, but if not, I'm going to go up Thursday. So, I'm getting everything packed because it has taken most the day to get all the water stuff ready. Getting the refrigerator thing in there. I'm going to bring up one of the portable power stations and uh uh solar panel cuz I want to eventually here switch the tent over to completely off-rid again. Uh, so anyway, that's what I'm doing with the boiler. I should have I was going to shut that down a couple days ago, but I've got these big logs in there.
And so I've just been chunking some in and it's been going the whole day. This time it was down to 161, which means I'm pretty much out of wood. But I'm going to put some more in here today and I'll just let it burn until I go and then it can run out. have a few days of running the pumps and everything so everything can go out and when I get back from fishing it'll be ready to be cleaned out, capped and ready for next year.
These big ones, even last year, which is a couple years after my hernia operation, I still didn't like lifting them cuz you could feel it, right? You could feel that mesh. And this year, it seems pretty good. So, and they're drier, so not quite as heavy.
When I say that, I'll probably blow it out again.
What are you doing?
He's a lost chicken. Ever since we got the new rooster and those hands, this guy gets chased off of everything. So, he follows me around and when I'm feeding the animals, I'll give him like up at the barn. He was just over there and I'll give him a handful of feed. He get he goes in there and eats at night, but he likes to stay by me cuz the other rooster won't come and bug him.
Heat.
Heat.
I got to figure out which portable power station I want to bring up to the tent.
Just getting this ready for tomorrow.
I stopped and got feed today. Another 150 lbs of corn. And I think I got 50 lbs of scrap chicken.
I'm thinking about bringing this one off. I just did a video on this one. In fact, today is Tuesday, 7:06. So, at 5:00 tonight, the video went public, a review on it, and it's a good battery, but and it's big. It's got 3600. I think it had 3,840 W hours, but I don't have one of the expansion batteries for it. So then with the other ones that I have, I want to check I have to go back in my videos and look at these because like this one here has I think it's like 2400 watts.
So probably 24,48 watt hours. But I do have an expansion battery which will get me up to, you know, almost 4,100 cuz I'm sure this is another 248. But I've got some in boxes there, too. So, I need to go back on my videos and look and see which one had the most amount of stored power.
I, you know, I like the idea of having that big one up there, but um if one of these has more power in it or or more battery, I don't need that much power to run the tent. Um unless you're running the microwave or something, really nothing's drawing that hard. So, it's more about the time. So, anyway, I'm going to look and see. I was going to do that yesterday and forgot. was going to do it earlier today and then came out and started doing everything out here and I'll figure out the unit I would love to have is the one in my basement.
That one is a big big unit with a big expansion battery, but that one runs a lot of stuff in the house and like right now the water uh the pump is pumping out water or yesterday anyway almost every minute. So after we got all that 2 in of rain, there was nothing from the snow melt really. But now everything like up at the tent where we're going. Uh I keep getting alerts on the on the TV for that county for uh flooding, river flooding.
So I mean my dad was just up there. He didn't say there was any trouble. And I'm sure he didn't drive the loop and see how that river is that runs under the road, but I haven't heard from anybody up there that's over the road or anything. I'm sure it's just high. And um but anyway uh when that is running down here, I have that pump plugged in to the battery, the portable power station.
And then electricity that's plugged into grid power. So if the grid power goes off, that one's big enough to run that thing for a days, you know. So, if I'm up north fishing with Melissa and the power goes out, I don't have to worry about anything, you know, as far as the basement flooding, which it will flood if those pumps aren't going in the spring.
I want to bring a drill up because I might want to mount a solar panel, even though it's those portable ones.
Just put it right on top of the roof.
I'm going to watch where the sun hits on the tent with those trees. And then I've got screws in my truck that are the kind that I use for a metal roofing. So, they have a little rubber washer on it. And I'm just going to screw it right to the roof there. I didn't You know what though? I was going to order like a 20 or 25 ft solar uh cable and I didn't.
And I'm leaving in probably not tomorrow, but the next day I could still order it and Melissa could bring it up with her on Friday and then I could get that all set up.
Yeah, I might do that. But I need to put this in my truck probably. I need to get a few tools. I took everything out of my truck. So, it doesn't have any of the regular tools that it would usually have. So, let's see. I'm going to put this in my truck and this in my truck.
Oh, didn't give me any feed here. Hold on.
Some scratch.
There you go.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
I want to mix up some gas for the bolt.
Some mix. So, I don't know what's up there, but if I remember right, I was getting low.
I can't remember. This one has a tie on it. So, I use this for mix gas. I have one up there probably that has a tie on it, but I I don't know. It just seems to me that I had to dump my chainsaw gas in there, which is also 50 to1 last time I used it. I'm not positive, though. And let's see. This stuff here is for 50 to1. I need 2.6 oz per gallon.
And I usually use this 2.6 oz.
And I don't think these are ever much fuller than Oh, yeah. Right here.
So, that's what I'm going to do.
I've used this stuff before, but this is just for outboards.
You can see me making a mess here.
Let's see. Just going to put it all in here.
I normally just like to go to the gas station and put in exactly what you need.
I think that's a little bit too much, but that's okay. She's an old motor.
So, that's for one gallon.
So, this is my fourth one.
The reason I'm doing I would really rather just do three gallons, but uh I have two gallon can, so I could use a onegon glass jar, but Melissa would uh strangle me for that. She loves her onegon jars and uses them all the time.
There. That should do four gallons.
Put this right back here.
And then if I have like if I fill up the boat thing, I can bring this back and and or this one we can use it for the chainsaw.
All right.
And this here says safe fill level. But does that mean that's two gallons or is that just as full as you want to go? I wish it had a thing that said two gallons, but oh well. I've got a little extra oil in the in there anyway.
Oh, it's nice in here. It's only like now it's I think 36° outside. The heat isn't on in here, but it's 69°.
I need to come in here and grab this.
I always like to have, if I remember, two tripods up there in case I You don't know how many times you step like this one doesn't go all the way in cuz I stepped on it or drove over it with the four-wheeler and had to bend it back.
Looks nice in here.
Well, that's the majority of the stuff I have to take care of. I mean, I still have my clothes and more stuff to go in there, but all the stuff that takes all the time, like mixing up the gas. And I went and got a 20 lb gas cylinder filled up cuz I'm not sure how much the barbecue has or the grill and or the oven.
So, anyway, at least a lot of this is done cuz tomorrow, like I said, I think I said I'm going to be gone most of the day.
Well, I just got home about an hour ago.
It's I didn't think it was going to be as busy of a day as it was to this is the following day from when I was last filming and it was extremely busy. But I thought if I got all that done, I'd be able to go up to the tent in the morning and now I have to be an hour and a half away from here at 2:00 in the afternoon tomorrow and then get an hour and a half back.
I if I do go up tomorrow, I won't get out of here until probably 4:30 or 5:00.
Um I mean, I'd be up to the tent by 8:00.
We'll see. I'm not sure. It's cold today. It's been snow showers off and on all day. I think right now it's 41.7 and that's the warmest it's been all day.
It's supposed to start to warm up a little bit tomorrow, but up at the tent, um I think Friday is going to be in the 50s, but otherwise it's going to be in the 40s and in the 20s at night or 30s at night. So, low 30s to upper 20s. It's going to be chilly.
I need to put a new bail in for the calves, fill up their water tonight, do chores.
Tomorrow morning, I won't have to leave here till probably noon.
And yeah, so I'll get everything else packed into my truck anyway tomorrow.
Still waiting for some warmer weather.
Heat. Heat.
Heat up here.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Well, now that we got that done, I got to get that stuff pushed out of there, but I can't. It still froze underneath, so I can't get in and get a good push.
And yeah, at least I got a bail of egg. I'm not putting any more wood in this. I'm just going to mix it up right now. Let it run overnight with the all the blowers going. Tomorrow I shut the blowers down, but I'll leave the pumps going for the all the water going to the house and all the buildings.
And then when I get back, I'll completely shut it down. I might be able to do that earlier. I mean, it's almost completely burned out now. I mean, I could put more in here tonight, but I got to shut it down sometime. And I don't want it to run the whole time I'm gone with the blowers trying to get the fire going.
I'd say 1 hour I'll be able to shut it down looking at what I got in there.
Who wants some food?
Who wants some food?
I knew you would.
There you go.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Okay, everyone. Well, thanks a lot for watching.
Yeah, right now it's just a few minutes before 9:00.
I just went out there and shut the wood boiler off. Even though it's 39 degrees outside, it's May 6th. It's time. We'll fire it up sometime around uh Halloween, I suppose, just like we always do.
Tomorrow I head up to the tent.
I will see you guys on the next video.
