But according to a newly filed wrongful death lawsuit, this wasn't just a tragic accident. [music] Investigators say Whitney was at her boyfriend's family home when his father, 54-year-old Jeffrey Scott Towers, [music] began showing off antique firearms. Police allege Towers was handling a loaded revolver he believed was unloaded when it suddenly fired, [music] striking Whitney in the chest. She later died at the hospital from injuries to her lung, heart, and aorta. The coroner initially ruled the shooting an accident. [music] Then, 2 months later, Towers was arrested and charged with manslaughter, released on $30,000 bail.
