NAACP DEMANDS ATHLETES TO BOYCOTT THE SOUTH! ✊🏾🏈Added:
The NAACP just called for a boycott involving Southern college sports and woo, y'all this conversation about to get loud. So, here's what's happening.
The NAACP has launched a campaign >> [music] >> called out of bounds encouraging black athletes to reconsider attending schools in certain Southern states. I mean, the very same states that voting rights and changes to election maps are battling right now. And instead of it being 2026, y'all we are back in 1966. This is crazy. And yes, that includes states that are the Mecca of college football like Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, which immediately turns into a massive sports conversation because y'all, let's be real. Black athletes are a huge part of what powers college sports financially. We're talking sold out stadiums, TV deals, merch sales, NIL money, all of it. And now the argument being made is if these athletes generate billions for these universities and states, should they also be thinking about the political climate they're walking into? But this is also where things get complicated because now an 18-year-old recruit is no longer just deciding between facilities, championships, NIL opportunities.
They're suddenly being asked to think about civil rights and voting access, too.
And regardless of where people stand politically, sports and politics have always intersected. You got Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, the WNBA, Colin Kaepernick, the NBA bubble, shut up and dribble. Y'all, we've seen this conversation before, but college football in the South, y'all that's like a religion. So, this debate is going to be on every barbershop group chat, family cookout, SEC group chat all summer long. But I want to hear from you. What are your thoughts?
