Manipur CM Holds Meeting to Review Sharda Devi’s Rajya Sabha Candidature

Biren Singh convened a hybrid meeting with NDA MLAs today to deliberate on the nomination of state [music] BJP president A Sharda Devi as the NDA candidate for Rajya Sabha [music] from Manipur. Biren deliberated with NDA MLAs both in person and virtually. He added that [music] unanimous support extended to Sharda's candidature reflects the commitment to unity, democratic values, and [music] empowerment of women through meaningful representation in public life. Manipur BJP president A Sharda [music] Devi was nominated as the party's Rajya Sabha seat candidate. She will be contesting for the [music] state's lone Rajya Sabha seat. The decision was approved by the BJP Central Election Committee and announced by the party's central leadership [music] on Thursday. Sharda Devi is among the most prominent women leaders in the saffron [music] party.

Previously, she has been ward councilor [music] in Imphal, national secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha, and later became vice president of the BJP Mahila Morcha twice.
