[00:00:15]Today we're watching episode 7 of season 5 of The Boys Penultimate before the series finale. The way the last episode ended was a gut punch. An absolute gut punch. But I don't know what we saw. So, it looked like Homelander got some V1.

[00:00:34]The one caveat that I can take away from that is is that if that was actual V1, then we know that Soulja Boy can take that away from somebody as he did with Bombsite, which was a great test subject, I would say. I also don't know if Bombsite showed up with actual V1 or if it was all part of Sage's plan. Here's the thing. Sage is like, "Wait, no, there's" And I'm like, "I don't know if she deserves an Oscar for her acting or if like legitimately it didn't go the way she thought it was going to because she doesn't know Soldier Boy as well as she does Homelander." Even though Ashley had read his mind, it was like it's almost like he's proud of him or something. And that was like Sage going like, "Great, got him. Okay." um she tried to turn them against each other because of Clara and um I a lot of people are saying that Clara is Homelander's mom. I feel like that is not the case, but if it is, that's gross and very much the boy's universe and it would destroy Homelander mentally. He's already fractured, but like that would be something. Or maybe he'd love it. Maybe he'd be like, "I knew I liked her." You know, I don't know. Um, but uh it it it definitely is one of those things that I'm just like I don't know why this matters so much other than maybe to try to tear them apart. Um, but Sage isn't stupid. Like she knows more than we do. And maybe like whatever uh Homelander injected himself was was like some of the, you know, the intestine [ __ ] kind. I don't know. I mean, I have so much hope that like there's no way that we are left with Homelander being superpowered the last two episodes of a series and then it just ends with him smiling going, "Oh, God." Um, so I'm I'm I'm hoping I'm hoping the way it ended isn't really what we think it is. One could hope. So, I'm going into this with um a lot of positivity.

[00:02:41]I still think more people are going to die. There's definitely somebody from our team has to die. Like, we're not making it out, you know? Like, there's just there's just no way. Like, I mean, obviously I feel like Butcher is going to die unless Soulja Boy takes away his power and then he's got cancer, you know? So, like like there's there's no happy ending for Butcher. I don't think so. unless he's able to destroy Homelander, which is it could be a couple dozen different things, but could be killing him, taking away his powers, maming him, you know. Uh I don't I don't really know what else would make Butcher really happy. I think ultimately seeing Homelander dead is the biggest thing, but I also think seeing him depowered and be the actual weakling that he is uh would be definitely satisfying for Butcher, which I also don't think is fair just because Homelander was brought up that way. He was made into this. So, like that sucks for him, but at the same time still choosing to do it. And I don't know where Ryan went. And I was like, "Well, maybe Ryan's going to go get Marie so Marie can, you know, pull the V out of him that way or something."

[00:03:46]Um, I don't know if we're like putting Gen V in this at all. Um, I feel like now that like the other seasons of GenV were cancelled. So, do we disregard Gen V or not? I don't know. Are we ever going to see those characters again? I have no idea. It would be weird if they came in here and all of a sudden just like finished him off when like the boys have been trying to do it for five seasons and like the kids are here and they're like poof did it losers and like walk away. I don't know. I don't know.

[00:04:16]But I'm excited to get into this episode because I don't know what to expect and that's it's it's really just part for the course for the boys, isn't it? So guys, let's go.

[00:39:55]I think it was kind of inevitable that somebody was going to die. I thought from the beginning of the episode that somebody was going to die. I thought it was going to be Kimo.

[00:40:03]Um but then the more we got Frenchie talking to Sage and talking about love and then I was just like this is too beautiful of a thing for him to say for him to survive.

[00:40:19]Although I thought it was still going to be Kim and Co at that point and it was going to be the thing that destroyed him and her saying thank you for saving me and he said no you saved me is a completely different person than what we've seen from the beginning to the end. And I'm glad Sage got to witness that. Like people loving each other in that way and sacrificing that way. Kimo better have Soulja Boy's powers. My god. I was just like maybe Soulja Boy will still take out Homelander and him wanting to sorry him wanting to go to Bogota and just, you know, [ __ ] do Coke for the rest of his life for forever apparently. Um, you wanted nothing to do with what Homelander was, what he was becoming, and what the world was going to become.

[00:41:17]Now he's a trophy in a frozen tube. So, we can't even depend on him for help. We need Kimo.

[00:41:25]Wow. I mean, I already don't like Butcher, and Butcher's [ __ ] up, and I've known that since the beginning, and I do believe that he cares for Hueie, but like, you know, I think every story of what um Oh, I don't even remember.

Uh, [ __ ] up power, but then also all these psychics working for Homelander to try to see like who believes and who doesn't and then eliminating the people that don't. six out of 30 sounds about right, like to be true believers. And then there's like the the other people that are like, "Of course I believe because they just want to be accepted into something." And you know, I'm glad that Starlight saved them because then they will have a story to tell about how Homelander was going to have them killed for not believing and Starlight saved the day. And you know, I at the beginning like seeing Jordan and Marie, I was just like, "Oh, okay." I mean, I think it's a little late in the game to have them be introduced after not seeing them all season long, but whatever. At this point, there's the most unbelievable [ __ ] that's in this series. Like, is it really hard to believe that the JV team's going to come in and help at the last second? No.

[00:43:12]Do I love it? Not really. But at the same time, I figured that from the beginning. I just thought that they'd be more involved. And I mean, does Marie even need to be able to control her power to face Homelander? I don't think so. Just rip his blood out.

[00:43:29]Boom. Done.

[00:43:32]What do I care if she pops him?

[00:43:35]Other than the fact that he won't have to live in humility of being weak and just a regular man. And you know, him disbanding the seven is hilarious. Like I kind of felt a little bit bad for the deep because it was really all he had and he killed Noir for no reason and then lied to everyone about well at least lied to Homelander about it was like oh he was talking [ __ ] about you dude and then the entire ocean knowing that it was him that he was supporting the the pipeline and Xander the shark saying being voiced by Samuel L. Jackson is hilarious. And it's just like, don't come back into the ocean, [ __ ] Like, he literally let somebody drown because he was too terrified to go into the ocean.

[00:44:25]I I mean, I'm not happy about the person drowning. I'm happy that they caught it on film, him being a coward, stripping everything from him that he holds dear.

[00:44:32]He no longer has the Seven. He no longer has Homelander. He was checking all the places that are not around Vegas, and I was like, "Yeah." Oh, it's like give him a job in the fountain. He could he could hang out in the Bellagio fountains.

[00:44:47]He could be the king of Lake Meade.

[00:44:53]Oh god, I love that for him. I don't know how it's going to end for him, but I feel like I'm going to be satisfied no matter what. Now, of course, I love the the pep talks. We got one from Butcher talking about Posh Spice. I was like, "Where the [ __ ] is this going?" Yeah, she's not really I don't even know if I know what her singing voice sounds like and she's in that group. So, like it makes me laugh that like she's probably the most famous one. And like it's it's kind of like you know what, just keep trying. Fake it till you make it or keep going until you get to the top like Ashley, which I don't think back Ashley's gone.

[00:45:34]I think she's just being quiet. But I think that's going to drive Ashley crazy because she's going to want to talk to her and can't. If you had told me from the beginning that Ashley would be president going into the series finale that uh Kimo would be most potentially having the powers of Soulja Boy. Um there's just like so many things. Mm like being kind of free of his OCD for at least a year, but like coming through grabbing a rat and throwing it like bait baby and then you know hand wipes you know growth in both ways you know even though he hated himself for that year which again back to the pep talks and him talking to Annie and it being about like hope and embracing something that you know they are tearing her to shreds no matter she's just faced with Starlight being this awful person in propaganda world and it's hard. It would be very hard to hear horrible things about yourself all the time when all you're trying to do is save the world. The right way, I would say. And you know, I love that mm embraced the nickname that they gave him. And I'd never really understood why he had the name Mother's Milk and Marvin milk, mother's milk. That's fantastic. I love that. And you know, Annie, I think, was inspired by that and it was helpful and saved a room full of people.

[00:47:06]Brilliant. Beautiful. Wonderful.

[00:47:09]Fantastic. Where do we go from here? Cuz mm and Annie were still at bot and Huey and Butcher were gone. So, I don't really know what happens after that.

[00:47:22]But, um, Frenchie being gone is sad. I knew that we would lose people. The way he went out though, freaking boss was just like, "Yeah, I'm going to radiate myself with you, dude." And it was him accepting the life that Kimo wanted because he loved her. That's the thing is like it might not be something that he's ever dreamt about. Maybe he never even thought about it until he met her and he's just like, "Why would I want that?" And then the more he thinks about it, the more it's something that he wants with her, because he's open to it because of her, because he loves her. I think that that's amazing. What a way to go out. That was beautiful. That was [ __ ] beautiful.

[00:48:07]What a great end to that character.

[00:48:10]And the fact that like she was able to speak this season, so she was able to have that conversation. They could have still had it with their sign language, but like I think her being able to speak and Frenchie hear it.

Uh, but I'm very curious to see how this ends. And if it doesn't end with Homelander like losing his power and becoming a regular man, that'll be upsetting, but I'll just take him being gone period.
