[00:02:46]>> And I think what it'll have done, it'll have suck the filter in because it's pressurizing too much. And I bet the filter's gone like a quartet in the middle.

[00:03:41]Oh, yes. Good to Right. So, after the hiccup yesterday of uh the wrong valve being sent, we've got the right one. So, uh Words have just sent this down for us now. So, that's the old one.

[00:04:33]What a nice shiny brand new replacement.

[00:04:39]Let's get it out of the bag and have a look.

[00:04:43]So, the issue we were having with them was these configurations at the bottom.

[00:04:50]The one that they sent yesterday had about five other on the end of that. So, it was just no good. It had more ports, everything. So, we've got the right one now. So, we're going to get that fit and hopefully, fingers crossed, the bor will be right.

[00:05:08]I've just wired the new caps on for the uh tops of the solenoids. So, I'll show you the fitting of the new solenoids, and hopefully we're back up and running within the next half an hour, 40 minutes.

[00:05:26]So, we've got a problem. The bolts supplied are too short.

[00:05:33]So, I'm going to have to go and try and find some bolts. Uh, I'm going to probably nip out and get them. I'm going to get new ones again. Don't want to be using secondhand. So, go and see what we can find.

[00:05:55]So, there were the original bolts.

[00:05:58]and we needed them 100 mil. So, I've got the original bolt, the new bolts now, which are 100 mil longer. Well, not 100 mil long. We're at Oh, they're 100 mil long rather than uh 70 mil long. So, yeah. So, we can uh get it all back together now.

[00:06:30]Yeah. So, the bolts they provided are slightly too long. I'm not getting it fully clamped down there. So, I'm going to have to just take a little bit off each of them just to get this tight cuz otherwise it's just going to leak everywhere and we don't need that. So, yeah, I'll show you that in a minute.

[00:06:47]That's all bolted down. out. I'm just going to put the solenoids on and then we are ready to test the bor.

[00:07:10]Right, that's everything back together.

[00:07:14]So, all we can do now is test it. And then we've got the uh the job of replacing this, this, and this, which we are going to get ordered because they're no good on all these silly little plugs and stuff. They're knackered. So, they need changing. So, yeah, we're going to get them sorted. Um, wards will probably order all them for us. Same same as they've done with that one. We just need to get all the sematics off the top, send it to them, and they'll be able to get all the right ones for us. So, that's the next job.

[00:07:47]So, we've changed the faulty valve, which you know, we've New Salt Energy checked it and then Ward checked it said it went. So, we've changed that valve and we've still got the same problem.

[00:08:00]So, I don't know what to do from here on.

[00:08:04]I'm not an hydraulic engineer, so I really don't know what to do. Um, the only other option we've got is if Justin's going to just have a look into the program just to see whether there's any way we can switch it so it'll work. Um, if we can't do that, then we're going to have to get somebody in, professional to have a look at it because like I said, I'm not an hydraulic engineer. So, yeah, that's where we're at.

[00:08:49]It's turned out the ram's seals flipped inside. So, we're going to take that off now. Get it up towards get it repaired and then back on again soon as we can.

Um it just freezes the yard during the week. Do you know what I mean? So, it's all good. So, I'll just get a few of these bits moved and we can tidy up around the batteries.

[00:14:29]um because it's not it's not right. The environment will not like that. But we do like to keep keep things right. Do you know what I mean?

[00:14:40]Obviously, we're still having troubles with the bed.

[00:14:45]Which um little suset as long as if you find the issue before it gets any worse, you're aren't you?

[00:14:56]But um it's nothing major. We think it's just a solenoid or something like that.

[00:15:01]The pump's up to pressure. So there's nothing wrong with the pump.

[00:15:07]But the um once you get familiar with your machines, like every single time we have an issue with that bail, we're learning more and more and more about it. And then obviously we've got other companies working on the bail. They get to learn the bail. So you come up to a point as long as if you're doing your m maintenance and keeping on top of it any issues what do arise you do tend to find out what they are and then there's things you should do and don't like when you're using the bor certain things you need to just like be careful of like obviously putting things under certain pressures like your lids and you know when to stop and yeah we're used to it now it's freaking cracky mailer.

[00:15:57]We're happy with that. It's a freaking absolute belter. Obviously, running secondhand equipment is not easy at all.

[00:16:04]But um some companies are just in that fast pace like you need new machines. You're handling that much material. The material we're handling say I don't know what material we're handling say I'd say 5 to 600. about 550 to 700 cars a month averaging 1.1 ton I would say.

[00:16:31]So you're doing quite a fair tonnage, but compared to scrap yards like say EMR for example, obviously the amount of tonnage is is far more than 700 tons. They probably do that in a 10 minutes. So our machines are not very heavily used.

[00:16:56]I mean, all you've got to look at is that cap.

[00:17:00]How many tons?

[00:17:02]How many tons an hour to move? Just look at the specification.

[00:17:09]How many ton is an hour? Um, we do 700 tons.

[00:17:16]So, it's not under stress, you know what I mean? It's a big machine and it's definitely not under stress from what we're doing to it. So, it's ideal for us if we got a new machine.

[00:17:30]We want a 35 ton machine handy long reach.

[00:17:37]To buy a brand new 35 ton machine would be not viable for this yard. What we would need to do is go for a smaller and cheaper machine. But a a smaller machine isn't what we want. So you got to look at a lot of factors and stuff like that. So all these people saying, "Oh, get new machines."

[00:17:58]I'm not going to go and buy a brand new 35 ton cat. I'll tell you that for free.

[00:23:28]>> And when it pressurizes >> and if that that pressure of whatever it is 180 bar can't get through the system, >> it's going to restrict the engine. It's like putting >> a limiter on.

[00:23:43]>> Like it's like trying to set off in fifth gear, >> you know? So, it's >> that's my No, no, it is because we've tested the pressure. It's got the right pressure. Um, but the issue is Chris said to me the other day, it was working fine >> and then it stop >> and then it suddenly stopped again. So, some jamming, some it's sticking. It won't be the hydraulic pump itself because hydraulic pumps usually wear down and get weak. That's usually what happens with them. But we've heard there could be a little valve in the pump.

You know there's >> on the other side where the kill switch is there's that little box that's got three wires in three wires out >> that actuate the solenoid. Is that solenoid physically act being switched?

[00:26:38]>> I think so. Yeah. Well, we'll check things like that now.

[00:26:41]>> Um it must be if it's revving in one condition but then not the other. This is what I mean. But it's like I don't 100% know how it works, but I feel like on the return the the oil's just running back into the tank or something. I don't know. But on the push it's it's limited.

[00:26:59]So it's like the engine can't get that pressure away fast enough.

[00:27:03]>> So it's like the pump's restricting the engine. I don't know.

[00:27:12]>> Right. So it's going to be longwinded this. You know, it's going to be trial and error, but we'll keep you updated.

[00:27:37]>> Electrically, the pump as as a unit, >> right? If you look at the separate individual valves that operate everything, >> they all work. Every single one is getting supply. So if we look at the PLC down to the valve block, the PLC is switching output. Physical output is getting to the terminal. The valve coils are all fine. The valve spools are all moving.

[00:27:59]>> So the problem looking at the machine is it is a global problem. Left door, right door, ram all move slow.

[00:28:06]>> Yeah.

[00:28:07]>> Right. Um, yes, it's opening fast, but it's not closing fast.

[00:28:12]>> And as we say, there's a directional piston inside the pump >> that's allowing that flow.

[00:28:16]>> Yeah. Yeah.

[00:28:17]>> Electrically everything is working.

[00:28:20]>> We thought that, didn't we?

[00:28:21]>> Hydraulically, I can't say that pump is okay or not.

[00:28:25]>> Hydraulics aren't our our bag. I mean, we'll we know >> some of the stuff, >> but when it comes down to rebuilding a pump, >> so Yeah.

[00:28:37]>> Yeah. Just just by looking at the at the symptoms of the problem that the fault is global. It's not just isolated to one door or the ram.

[00:28:45]>> Yeah.

[00:28:46]>> It's on everything that you try and give a bit of pressure to a bit of force.

[00:28:50]>> If like Chris suspects, if that piston is jammed halfway >> and you're getting a trickle of oil on one side, >> you're going to have the pressure, but you're not going to have the flow to move anything. Yeah.

[00:29:01]>> So, it'll still move because it's building that pressure, but the flow is obviously what's limiting in the speed of the >> restricting the engine, isn't it?

[00:29:08]>> Yeah.

[00:29:11]>> The engine's not the engine, one way the engine's using torque.

[00:29:15]>> And why the engine's going to take torque is because there's a load on the engine.

[00:29:19]>> So, when you flowing that much fluid, the fluid is the load.

[00:29:24]>> If you're not pulling that much fluid, there's no load on it, but it will still produce the pressure. Yeah, it's a big host pipe, a small hose pipe.

[00:29:30]>> Yeah.

[00:29:32]>> And that's what's happening, I think.

[00:29:34]>> I mean, electrically, we just eliminated everything electrical. It's all working as it should.

[00:29:41]>> So, we got to take the pump off.

[00:29:47]>> If if it turns out that it's not the pump, >> well, then >> then I don't know what it would be.

[00:29:54]>> There can't be anything else.

[00:29:58]I mean, I don't know how they work. You know what I mean?

[00:30:01]>> It depends on the design of the pump because you could just have like a big disc like a flywheel disc.

[00:30:07]>> With loads of holes around it >> and in each hole is a piston and spring.

[00:30:13]>> So, as and the disc rotates off center.

[00:30:15]>> It's like an air comp.

[00:30:17]>> Yeah. And as it rotates that obviously socks in and pumps out pops, you know, but then there's a direction bulb on it which will take it between flow and return.

[00:30:28]>> The only problem we've got is the bloody yards full of scratch. The only if it was if it was empty now, I wouldn't be so bad.

[00:30:35]>> I don't know if you could just get an exchange.

[00:30:39]>> Yeah, hydraulic pumps are so unique in every application. The flow, the force.

[00:30:44]>> I think it'll just want leak on it. So, I don't know the turnar around time it would take them.

[00:30:51]>> Uh, we might have to just >> if we strip it now, >> what benefit is going to give you? It's going to be a hindrance to a hydraulic company because then they're just going to get it back in pieces.

[00:39:31]Um, and then he said there's the a so after the pump, the high pressure from the pump, there's a high pressure filter after the pump.

It could literally just be the camera in here running live and people coming in and talking and bits of conversations. We will obviously know the cameras are going to members only.
