Why is it SO muggy?

[00:00:00]You feel it, I feel it, it is summer-like mugginess across the Piedmont Triad. Why is that? Well, we currently have southerly breezes that are guiding tropical-like air from our south off of the Gulf of Mexico and also from the western Atlantic. So, dew points have risen into the 70s. It is air that you can wear, the type that fogs up your glasses, right? Relief is going to be on the way. The reason it's been kind of so dense also is because there hasn't been much mixing in the upper levels of the atmosphere. It's kind of remained stagnant near the surface, so which makes it feel even more muggy. We're going to see relief behind a front as we step into Thursday and Friday. I promise, it is on the way.
