This video proves that effective conservation is less about managing animals and more about investing in the people who live alongside them. It marks a necessary shift from exclusionary tactics to a model where human welfare and wildlife protection are treated as a single, inseparable goal.

Communities for Conservation | Sheldrick Wildlife TrustAjouté :
We cannot win the fight against poaching without engaging the communities. All the challenges to conservation they are human related.
My name is Samuel Munyao, community outreach officer, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
We've got four areas of support ranging from education, health care, environmental protection, and local employment.
70% of Kenya's population are youths.
This presents to us a unique opportunity to groom generations that are pro-environmentalists.
A field trip it's a conservation education [music] kind of an engagement.
We engage the learners because we believe that they are the future ambassadors to conservation. So, we take them for [music] game drives, we sit them down for lectures, we uh teach them, and we hear their voices, and their role that they can play when it comes to environmental protection.
We run a beehive project. A bee fence it's an elephant mitigation [music] tool. Honey is doing very well. When an elephant approaches the farm, uh it will be kept away by the buzzing sound of bees.
After harvest, uh we buy the honey from them. They be motivated to continue [music] maintaining and taking care of the project.
We also do uh football donations.
They build their community spirit, and this will act as platforms to send the message home for them what we are doing on wildlife conservation.
The trust is securing a future for the wildlife and their habitats.
The future of conservation would lie with coexistence.
We cannot sit down and watch as we lose wildlife.
We cannot sit down and watch as we pollute the environment which is safe for our wildlife.
We cannot sit down and wait to lose the wildlife which cannot speak for themselves.
We are out to speak for them because they have the right to live just like humans.
