Game matchmaking algorithms are designed to maintain player engagement by balancing win rates around 50%, preventing players from experiencing too many consecutive wins (which causes boredom) or too many losses (which causes players to quit). These algorithms track player performance data and adjust match difficulty accordingly, creating a cycle where players experience both challenging and easier matches to keep them engaged with the game.

Players Just Exposed the Matchmaking Algorithm – Is It Rigged?Added:
Welcome back, everyone. Hope you're doing good, having a great day.
Tonight's going to be a fun one, but keep one thing in mind, a disclaimer here. The things that we will be talking about cannot be confirmed unless Blizzard net is comes out and admit it themself. And that is going to be the matchmaking for Battleground. Right now, somewhat players trying to figure out if it is rigged. The game algorithm knows that when to give you the wins and when to make you lose. So, if you win too many games, the game or the Battleground is going to be boring for you. And if but you lose too many games, you are basically going to quit playing Battleground. As so, the algorithm or the matchmaking is rigged and trying to keep you above or at 50%. If you are somewhat let's say 60 52 65% is what I would say. Players are saying that the matchmaking is rigged, but if you are somewhat a lower resonance player and not good at Battleground, your win rate could be like in 40s as well. But, that was just a disclaimer. Now, if we go take a look at what the players are talking about, the algorithm for the matchmaking, let me quickly change [music] the screen. If players can predict a Battleground outcome at the start, why can't the match maker can do the same thing? 80 90% of the time we can tell which team will win just by looking at the players on both sides.
And I see I look at the teams and if I see some some players which are performing really good and we lacking players which can somewhat challenge them, we know that it is going to be a really hard game or we will just basically get steamrolled. And if we can if we can tell that for sure, the algorithm the matchmaker can't tell that as well. So, why can't a D matchmaking algorithm, the algorithm has way more data than we can remember and that is true.
And keep one thing in mind, there are about maybe 20, 30, 40,000 players in total, maybe 30,000 players in total by the end of the season if I'm not mistaken, 20, 30,000 players. The algorithm can easily track them like how each player is performing. Only 10 to 20% of the matches are actual wild cards where the matchmaker did a decent job.
So, this is what we have here. This is pretty new post from 12 on person commented on Reddit right now. And before we go any further, let me know in the comment section down below. Do you guys think that the algorithm or the matchmaker is somehow trying to rig your matches so you do not win all that many like games and you do not lose all that many games because I do have one thing to add here myself. It usually takes me about 100 games to reach legend and that that has been the case for like the longest time. Around 60 to 64% win rate takes me about 100 games to reach [music] the legend if I'm not mistaken, 100 games to reach the legend and it has been like that for me for the longest time and I have been playing with the last say 4,500 and 5,200 residents and it has been like that for me. But anyway, if we go and take a look at the comments, uh the first comment here, look at that, 22 awards. They probably can read the algorithm and wants you to lose. So, yeah, basically saying that it is rigged. And then we have a very in-depth comment here. The second one is basically we're not going to go into that. Players do not agree with that, but anyhow, it is rigged matchmaking trying to balance everything out at 50% win rate. Other games use it, too.
Wargaming has a parent similar to this placing you in easier games when you lost [music] too much and vice versa to give you a challenge. If you want to read about this how this is constructed, there is a document [music] here and I'll have this Reddit post link in the description of my video so you can go take a look at this yourself. If you won all the time, it would be boring. If you lose all the time, you would leave the game. The system is deeply tied to monetization always holding the sausage in front of in front of your nose as so you keep on running and paying. Not playing, but the paying to the monetization.
And now in my final thoughts, I do believe there is some sort of algorithm that keeps you from winning too many games and keeps you from losing too many games as well. Definitely they knew about how the outcome of the game is going to be, especially when we see those matches where one side is basically steamrolling the other side.
They definitely I think have predicted and it usually happens you are on the winning streak, then you suddenly start losing, and then you start winning those games again. You start getting those easy matches. So it has been going on for the longest time and it would be fun to know if you play a lot of Battleground. Let me know in the comments section down below your experience, especially when you are trying to reach from let's say bronze to legend, this feels a bit more real. But once you are legend, maybe the game try and give you more balanced matches. That could be something at least I feel like.
But let me know in the comment section down below. Now I'm signing off. I catch you all in the next one. You guys take care of yourself and later.
